Rayan Cherki

In a squad suffering from output, people are willing to bin Garnacho and his numbers are actually decent. It’s a fair point.

He has three goals and one assist in the league this season. His seven league goals last year were a relatively good return, but otherwise his numbers get routinely overyhyped here.

At this stage anyone who has two legs and can breathe without getting injured would be of use to the team. If he gets his head down he could reach great heights, phenomenal talent just needs someone to guide him, maybe Amorim is that man.

Isn’t the problem with him his lack of intensity? From the comps, he looks like the type of player to excel when he is afforded time which he won’t be in the Prem.

Cherki and Zirkzee is a good duo.
Is it? Seems like a whole lot of technical ability but a lack of goals.

If you have superb technical ability, you can create that time for yourself

I don’t like his face.

Also if he lacks intensity/work rate can we please not make this mistake again?

He'll be exiting for a club like Wolves if they sell Cunha. Won't work great due to workrate but wonderful to watch if he's in a good mood.

Think a Cunha/Mbeumo type of 10 would work better and if you need a striker maybe the Delap one... We just need a ton of hard work who don't feel like absolute princes because.... god knows why.

Yes let’s get more lazy players. Just what we need. The tech fanbase can have another player fc though. So win win.

I used to have him in mind to become one of the best players in the world, but he’s gone off the rails since then and now I don’t think his career path can be certain anymore. Has the talent to be a superstar, whether he’ll ever apply himself like one is anyone’s guess.

He's been very well this season, hasn't he? Admittedly I might have formed that opinion off of glancing at his whoscored page the other day, but the odd stats listed here do seem to back it.

Yeah, but enough to trust him? I’m not sure about that. Kid could be Cantona or a complete flop.

Did Workrate fc ever win anything?

It was the foundation of SAFs teams. It was also the reason Klopp had a really good Liverpool side. I don't think we've had a hard working team for over a decade, excluding maybe a brief spell under Mourinho but even then there were passengers in that regard.

We need him. He's one of those players that are so gifted he's worth the lack of effort on defense.

He's a real generational talent. Any manager that manages to unlock his full potential has a balon dor level player.

A foundation of hard workers allowed some players who worked less hard to be difference makers.

I think the main issue we had is that we didnt have difference makers. I think our current team is pretty hard working but just lacking in quality for example.

Oh stop pulling me in, will you?
Sorry mate. His natural talent is Insane. One of the most technically gifted players in the world regardless of age. His problem is his mentality, if Amorim can get a tune out of him the sky is the limit.

He is an absolute baller, was classed as France's best upcomer.

I remember when he was 16 he was widely regarded as the best ever talent to come out of France.

His technical ability is insane, haven't seen a player as 2 footed in my life. 5 star weak foot is an understatement for this guy.

Tell me more. Could be work in Amorim's system? As a 10 I assume?

Honestly he'd be the most technical player in our squad straight away. A better passer than Bruno with better dribbling than Amad.

My problem with him would be what would happen to our pressing, as he's very lazy defensively and Amorims been working on that and has said countless times that we need to improve it. His best position in our system would be in the 10 but Amorim will have to do what no manager has done before and get him to press like an animal.

For me its a signing that must be made. It's a no lose transfer at 20 mill Euros. If Amorim can get a tune out of him we have a potential balon dor level player, if he doesn't he ends up like Sancho, too lazy and too slow for the prem but at 20 mill euros on a low wage it wouldn't be difficult to cut our losses with him.

We need to be all over this, along with getting Alvaro back. Cheap quality options.

It's not the only requirement, but it is a requirement. You've got to couple that with athletic ability and tactical nous. Beckham is a good example, he wasn't work shy and Gary will harp on about that. Look at the players in the early days under SAF, Hughes for example.

I agree we don't have more than one difference maker as is, in Amad, Bruno used to actually out-perform his xG but those days are gone and he can hardly hit the target anymore. We certainly need a couple more.

Recently we had a midfield of Eriksen and Casemiro, that's one worker. We used to always play Rashford, who offers nothing to the team out of possession and shirks every duel. We had AWB for a long while and he jogged back. We had Shaw also taking silly yellows to save his energy. Hojlund makes a great run and he doesn't get the ball and then he moans instead of making another run. Bruno who is a great work horse also stops too often when something doesn't work just to moan. Same with Garnacho. Call it lack of focus or something else, it's not efficient and wouldn't happen in a hard working team.

I want to see them like mad dogs. That's not common.

It may be worth buying him and flipping him if it didnt work. Sounds like a player who would probably move on for >22m for whoever bought him.
