Rayan Cherki

Immensely talented player, probably the most technically advanced player we'd have in the team... I question if he has the attitude and/or workrate for the PL and especially an Amorim side though.

A player with known attitude problems, perceived low work-rate and reportedly with an entourage of people around him that his current club take issue with - doesn't sound like any current players / soon to be former players at all - what could possibly go wrong?

He's a talented player and would fit the RAM role well I think, but too many red flags for United to get involved I think even at that price.

I don’t think we are in position to turn our noses up at top level talent at cheap prices though.

Even if it turns out to be a turd signing, for 20m I’ll take that risk all day considering his quality.

You might be right, I certainly think he'd be a brilliant fit in a #10 slot in Amorim's system as he likes players he can dribble through low blocks and he's probably one of the very best in Europe at carrying the ball past people (and can pass as well). I just don't see how he doesn't cause United the same sort of problems they've experienced with Rashford and Sancho, especially given Amorim has mentioned numerous times about players working harder and leaving everything on the pitch.

If the wages are reasonable to the point you can just ship him out on loan somewhere if he becomes a problem, then maybe it's worth a punt. Thought United of course need to be particularly wise with their budget at the moment given the perceived lack of funds available.

I do remember a player who had to leave french football after calling his manager a sh*t who did quite well for us.

He's the modern day Ben Arfa - and Ben Arfa played in an era where you could get away with it a bit more, and he still didn't reach any heights due to his poor work ethic.

Cherki wouldn't last 5minutes in Amorim's system.

He's a badboy. One of the most talented players in the world, but with a fair amount of baggage.

I think at 22 million its a no brainer.

Word class potential. Incredible technical skills. Lazy, but young and can improve. For 20m is a bargain.

I can't envision a situation where we are getting rid of perceived attitude problems within the squad and then bringing in a player who is a seemingly known attitude problem waiting to happen. That is to say nothing further about his running stats either which won't fly in this system.

Difference is Rashford and Sancho caused problems while being on absurd wages, meaning the investment into them and subsequent ability to ship them out was affected. With Cherki you’d be taking a cheap punt on elite talent and seeing if it clicks. If it doesn’t, the relative cost is far more negligible and easier to write off.

And the upside is you getting an elite creator and very good fit into the current team for a potential bargain relative to what 20m will get you elsewhere

How is he only 21? I feel like I've been signing the guy on FM for the past five years atleast.

He went through puberty at age 7.

Skill, Flair and Creativity 20. Determination and work rate 1. Totally opposite player to one that Amorim would desire

My mind wont let me separate him from Nabil Fekir. In my head, they are the same player, just years apart

I can take attitude problems but won’t have a lazy player. We can’t afford to compromise. The team is broken already, we can’t be adding fuel to fire.
