Was it bent in our favour when McTominay was denied a clear penalty at Palace? Or when Casemiro missed 3 games for grabbing a shirt?

Was it bent in our favour when we lost the opening europa league game for a handball that the rules say cannot be a handball?

How about when fabinho injured the Brighton lad with a shocking tackle? Not bent?
Or Andy Carroll being allowed to remain on the pitch when he was purposely trying (and succeeding) to injure our players.

Despite having a horrendous season it’s crazy to think if they beat us in our next league game at anfield, they could be just 5 points behind us in 4th place. Does that put them in the title race too?

They are 14 points off us

Many fans who grew up in the 90s and early 2000s when Fergie's United were rampant have been ruined beyond repair. It's especially bad for City and Liverpool fans of that vintage, who even when they've been winning stuff while we've been in the toilet cannot shake the irrational bitterness that can only spawn from an utterly ruined childhood. You just have to take a step back and drink it in when you're lucky enough to witness the fruits of Fergie's labours, even after all these years
Swings and roundabouts, I was a Utd fan in the 80s, from 83 onwards properly (I was 7) when Liverpool won everything.
hopefully I’m not as one eyed !!

Every debatable decision that goes our way is the incorrect call. Every debatable decision that goes their way is the correct call. Got it

Thats always the way with rival fans, every post match BBC HYS is full of them claiming every decision we get is wrong and any decision that goes against us is right, there were even loads claiming the blatent handball we got a penalty for in the Palace game was never a handball its ridiculous.

Yes I know but they play 2 league games before we play our next one against them at anfield. If they win all 3 they are only 5 points behind.

Wolves and Palace will not be easy for them and neither will we for that matter.

Merseyside Derby and Newcastle away were harder games and they won both comfortably. They’ve got Jota and Diaz coming back. I wouldn’t put it past them to find some form.

When was the last time we did the double over them? I wouldn't mind seeing that again!

So if they win 3 in a row, then they're still 5 points behind behind
And how could they possibly be in the title race when they're 19 points off Arsenal with 1 game in hand?

Oh, I know, they'll win the next 7...got it.

Everton was not a hard game and Newcastle fecked themselves.

Wolves beat them a few weeks ago and Palace when they want are tough opposition.

Liverpool of course are capable of beating both but it's not the same team from a couple of years ago so no forgeone conclusions.
That's all I'm saying

If Ten Hag can get us a rare win there, he really is the real deal.
But we needless to say need to at least stall their recovery.

Well for me at least he's already done enough but you're right that would be a wonderful achievement in his first indeed.

I have high hopes about that game especially if we get past barca and Newcastle, team spirit will be high and that should be enough to get it done.

Think it was Van Gaal's last season: 2015/16. I fancy us to do em in a couple of weeks.

Such an unusual game as it was one we not only won, but were in strong control of the game throughout.
Even Fergie had to settle for pinched wins at time, in amongst a lot of dreadful performances.

Yeah, most Liverpool fans I know are genuinely of the opinion that Everton getting relegated could lose them 6 points a season. Can’t really argue with them either. Absurd to call that a hard game.

Calm down itchy pants. The title race comment was tongue in cheek.

I think you might be thinking of Juanfield the season before. It was my first ever away day - and still by far my favourite game I've been to. We controlled the game from start to finish. One of the most one-sided 2-1s you'll ever see.

Van Gaal did the double over them again a season later. That 1-0 win at Anfield was far less eventful.

You know what has changed from previous seasons with the rawk lot. Talk about xG and how United are going to revert. Now it is all dabble about referees and how United got “battered”

United 4.16 - 1.51 Leicester
Barca 1.32 - 2.11 United

The home game was Martial's debut. Blind scored a nice one for 1-0.
Lost in the Europa League, quite outplayed, soon after Klopp joined.

Don't remember the away league game one bit. Pretty sure neither Martial nor Rashford scored at Anfield. Rooney? Fellaini? Mata?

They're really talking about officials favoring us and being against them after the FA Cup game they had against Wolves at home?

Van Gaal was a funny manager. Never have we had greater control in games since Fergie, but such stale football bar that mad 5 game purple patch where we demolished City, Tottenham etc.
Gutted the squad out, then moaned he didn't have enough options.

Are Liverpool in the title race if they win their remaining 16 games in a row?

If they win every game, and somehow everyone above them loses every game, they're right back in it!

Hope Real Madrid produce their usual quality European performance and end their dream early doors.
We all know how Liverpool like to squeeze through.

And when we are talking about xG. Liverpool actually had worse xG than Newcastles 10 men.

Everton get tummy tickled there.

Rooney from a corner. I'm not surprised you don't remember it one bit: it was one of many coma-inducing games in Van Gaal's second season.

It was bizarre watching him hand out Premier League appearances to teenagers who clearly weren't ready for first team football. Remember Cameron Borthwick-Jackson? Donald Love? James Weir?

And you're right - the football was so stale. There were very few enjoyable games in between Juanfield and the FA Cup final 14 months later. So many 0-0s.

His interviews made for an entertaining watch though. I wish his press conferences could have been 90 minutes long and his football matches 10 minutes long!

Was there a similar scrappy 1-0 with a Rooney or Fellaini or Ibra goal in Jose's first season as well?
