It is because when Liverpool / other big clubs want a player, the agents and/or selling club will leak United interest. Which will usually be massively overblown after a simple enquiry, if not completely fabricated, in order to drive the urgency and price in their favour.

Therefore when they sign a player like Nunez or Jota, who United have made tentative enquiries about previously, they genuinely believe the player has chosen Liverpool over United. When in reality they never had the option to join United.

So now they believe players prefer to go there. Which tbh will be true with some players but definitely not the majority.

To all the RAWK folk lurking here, I have considered this for a long time this season, and after much thought and much deliberation I have one thing to say...

 
I think time will make a lot of those slagging off Antony eat sour grapes

People don't realise the guy went something like 7 months in 2022 without playing a match. I think a key reason Ten Hag is playing him every game now (and I think he will tonight too) to get his match experience back up.

Once he gets going, let's see.

They have the gall to slag off Antony while they employ Nunez is hilarious.
 
Arsenal, United and potentially Chelsea signing a midfielder each today is a bit depressing. Although in Arsenal's case they've signed maybe the only midfielder in the league who could actually make our midfield worse.

Actually agree with this. I just dont get the praise/love-in Arsenal are receiving here. Think Chelsea played abit of a blinder getting 12 million.
 
I’d feel a bit of sympathy for Liverpool, only can’t forget how most of their fans really gloated when we were at our lowest point.

Finally ready to accept Nunez is shit, but some on here still think he'll 'come good'.

Should be scoring that chance when one on one , shouldn't be giving the keeper a chance really. Can't just be blasting the ball and hope it goes it. Your a professional footballer ffs.
Another player who even after one season I'd seriously move on and admit I got it wrong.

For the short term a different manager and they'd do better.

But for the long term Klopp is still by far the best manager they could have.

I'm praying something crazy happens and he gets sacked or he walks because he'll have them near the top again in the next season or two if they keep him
