RAWK Goes Into Meltdown 2015-16 Edition

"I think Coutinho probably has a better base ability than Iniesta. He's got the same close control and vision; but he is probably a better scorer and has more speed. However, what disadvantages him greatly is the tactical side of the game. Had Coutinho came through learning the game through the Barca system or started to be imbedded in Pep's revolutionary Barca he too would have turned into a better player and I think would have been even more special than what many think he can be now.

You look at Iniesta now and while still a top player is not really in the same hemisphere as what he was before. Under Enrique the team divides the passing of the ball much more. Iniesta is neither a defensive/high-workrate player nor does he affect a lot of goals. He needs a lot of the ball to dictate the game and open it up for his teammates. In this Barca, I probably wouldn't be surprised if Coutinho excelled more. Frankly, Rakitic is outshining Iniesta since his arrival and he's of a more similar base to Coutinho going forward."

The last few pages of that thread are downright weird.

One rule on RAWK is that the longer a player is out injured, the higher his stature becomes. Now it appears that inconsistent and frustrating performances too contribute to an increase in stature...

Klopp doesn't want to join a big club, he wants a project! He could well go to Liverpool!

The drugs are cleaner in the Latin countries, of course Coutinho has better base than Iniesta. By the time it washes up in Europe it's cut with all sorts of unsavoury shit.

I think Klopp would go to Liverpool. Hasn't he spoken above his respect for them and their fans in the past (could be wrong). I also think he'd prefer a 'project' like that with a limit to expectations and aspirations rather than go to a club where a minimum of 1 major trophy is expected year after year.

I'm in loveee with the Cou Cou
Dirty fecking cou whore

genius!

'However, what disadvantages him greatly is that he's not as good as Iniesta, or ever will be.'

'better base ability than Iniesta'

Remember this day, gentlemen. One to be referenced and celebrated throughout the ages from here on

I really don't get the Coutinho hype. Yes he has ability but lack consistency and decision making and it is more likely then not that he will never reach the level he could, most players don't. You can compare him to Nani, sky high ability but he never never used it in full and saying that Coutinho has a lot less ability than Nani had.

Coutinho is a better player than Nani was, IMO. Obviously he's not the future Balon D'Or winner that RAWK thinks, but he's still a very good player.

Coutinho's bottom level is better than Nani's imo and I think he's dribbling is more consistent. You have to remember, Coutinho just turned 23.

Nani at the 22/23 in the season 09/10 had 6 goals and 15 assists in the season 10/11 had 10 goals and 20 assists, in the season 11/12 he had 10 goals and 15 assists in all competitions and he was in and out of the team. Coutinho last season had 8 goals and 6 assists and was their main star. I will be very suprised if he reach Nani quality, to say that he is better than Nani was is stupid, he was the best winger in the league in the 10/11 season.

Now we are looking at the bottom level, in this case Rooney is the worst player on the planet. I had seen his bottom level when he had clear opportunity to pass in last match but he decided to shot and wasted opportunity for clear goal - this is just an example his decision making is letting him down time and time again. To compare Nani's dribbling to Coutinho's and saying that Coutinho's dribbling is more consistent is the same as saying that his base ability is better then Iniesta's.

He was clear on goal, one on one with the keeper. It was his finishing that was awful not his decision making.

Look at it again, he really shoud pass the bal and it would be a tap in.

Maybe he should have but a lot of players would back themselves in that situation. When I was watching the game live, my first reaction wasn't he should have passed it but that he's got to score that. But back to Nani and Coutinho. You have to remember Nani is 6 years older.

Tettey gave Coutinho the option to take the shot though, to avoid him passing it for a tap in. Well defended by the Norwegian :D
I don't know what are you talking  He didn't covered a striker's run (it was a clear pass for Coutinho to make) and didn't even tried to stop Coutinho. He was undecided what to do and didn't do anything in the end.

So the Ancelloti rumour thread lasted exactly 4 posts before Das Staff jumped in..

SP said:
We have a manager. We may allow speculation that the time has come for a manager change. We do not allow speculation as to who the replacement will be whilst there is still a man in the hot seat.

Besides, there is a denial, so it is a non-story.

He did enough to confuse Coutinho and stop him from squaring the ball for a tap-in, so while it wasn't textbook it got the job done. Praise Tettey!

Its nights like this that I really wish I had bothered to register with RAWK in the 5 min window they had about 7 years ago. :(
