RAWK Goes into Meltdown 2014/2015 - The "We go again" Edition

Sterling definitely looks like he could be world class, and they'd probably manage to sell him for a very hefty price if he went on to have a good season.

Or burn him out at an early age. I don't watch Liverpool a lot to judge him but I've noticed if you have someone who can keep up with his pace and that's stronger than him he's effectively useless. Happened against Basel never every run I saw him do in the first half, Serey Die made shit of him and I think Herrera, Rafael, Shaw and Jones could do the same.

The risk is Rodgers overplaying him (he's already doing it now) and causing Sterling to burn out. If he's managed properly, he can definitely go on to become a great player.

Exactly what Mel says. Sterling is more than just raw pace, but of course he has to be developed and nurtured carefully. Burn out and over reliance on him are definitely risks though.

Sterling certainly has world class potential.

On the flip, Liverpool have a clear history of burning out their starlets by overplaying them and rushing them back from injuries. Rumours of far worse, in the case of Torres.

What rumor was that? Thought the sex change thing was just a joke?

The 7 compelling reasons for signing Rickie Lambert, 4 & 5 are reasonable tbf. Number 3 is my favourite.

- cheap
- doesn't mind sitting on the bench
- better than Aspas
- proven in England
- important cog in a team that played similar football to ourselves
- fan of the club
- good story

conclusion -

There was more reasoning behind this signing than there was for Balotelli.

I don't think Adnan is going to be world class either.

Surprising. Few, if any at all, of the current elite, if we're discounting Ronaldo and Messi, have demonstrated more than Januzaj has done, at his age, for a club of United's magnitude. I think Januzaj is as close to a sure thing you'll ever see. I dislike the term "world class" but I'm very, very sure Januzaj will reach the summit of the game provided we don't stifle his progress.

Just curious about what those things are. There are quite a few players who have shown such promise at his age but then couldn't maintain the save level of development and ended up being less illustrious than what was predicted to be. Also, there is no way you can say something like "reach the summit of the game" for anybody at such a young age.

I honestly feel that we fans believe in the hype too much. He has had a promising first season and has shown a lot of maturity for a player of his age but let's keep it at that for now. Unless he breaks into the first eleven and makes a significant contribution, I fail to see how someone can be called a player who will reach the summit of the game. The harsh truth is that Sterling at the moment is ahead of him and we still consider Januzaj to be better than him.

Do you know what? its knobs like some on here who allowed the other pair of parasites to get rid of Rafa without a whimper, coz they thought the fecken chosen one was about to drop everything and grace their doorsteps. It would serve some of you pricks right if we lost Brendam, really would.

This place is full of it, absolute bollox

People questioning Brendan smell

Aye feck off you plastic twats do none of you remember what happened last season. were about 5 games in. Judge Rodgers at the EARLIEST by Christmas.

Not everything's right, granted but some of you are fickle as feck. Say some of what I have read in this thread in the Kop and you'd be thrown down the stairwell.

The one downside to Istanbul were all these hanger-on wools who latched on to us.

Seriously, this thread has become a parody of itself. A Father Ted of Liverpool supporters.

This thread is solid evidence that most of the potty mouthed twats have never even seen a football game live, let alone attend matches.

Half a dozen fecking games and the fecking knives are out.

This lot are not 'supporters'.

Go piss off to Chelsea, Manchester City or any other soulless club that deserves you,

Sometimes i wish we go down for a couple of seasons to weed out the trash. I have nothing in common with such 'supporters'.

Stop with this "they should have won it in 2009" myth. They were seven points behind and we had a game in hand at the start of March. They went on a great run of form, dropping only two points in their last 11 games but we still didn't throw it away. After losing to Fulham and letting them back in we also only dropped two points, and that was when a draw was enough to clinch the title.

Yes, they did draw at home to West Ham and Hull. In December. You can't throw away a title in December.
OK, fair point. I'm saying in the context of their title challenges in the Prem era, that was one that got away, or if you will a much better chance than in most seasons. I'm not knocking them- I remember the likes of 1998 all too well, but I do feel that that season and last season were clearly Gerrard's best chance of finally getting his scummy mits on a league medal.

They'll do an Owen on him. I don't think they've been very good at managing their young players in terms of not overplaying them at such a young age which then leads to injuries later on in their career.

That Sterling has played the full match against Middlesbrough in COC was a bit stupid from Rodgers......that was a good opportunity to rest him

Liverpool 2:1 West Brom
Was anything said about sturridge signing the new contract? And the accompanying picture of him just posing with a blank piece of paper?

I notice they seem to be getting really bitter towards us again, like they used to be when we were doing really well under Fergie. I think they are getting a little worried about us again, especially when combined with their form.

Win these next three games and we'll be fighting for the title.

We won't win it but, it'll be like the 2005/2006 season, the latter half that is.

Having said that, I've no confidence of winning these next three games. Especially when the vast majority of our players are made from Lego

fecking shit house wanker, if he wasn't being so serious it'd be laughable.... i have this massive urge to smack ten bells of shit out of him whilst shouting "NO ROY NO"

If it were me, i'd just stop our players going to line up for that clown and say 'hey listen guys, this fella will feck you up, bend you over - make you take one in the arse for him, you really wanna do that?'

I cannot articulate just how much i despise this prick, perhaps he can, after all he's a oral hero...or so he proclaims.

I'm not really surprised by their comments. Pretty senseless remarks at a time when they're wanting to protect the likes of Sturridge and Sterling. It doesn't do much for the increasing apathy over England. He ought to be far more tactful, particularly when it's related to a city where he's already disdained.

He had to harm Liverpool some way this week because he couldn't get Sturridge injured again.

Their retraction of Chelsea lose will be interesting. That'll see United in the top 4.

On De Gea:

If their fans were actually a parody, they'd be seen as over the top, melodramatic and unrealistic and therefore not funny. It's like Miranda Hart was commissioned by the BBC to make a parody of them.

They are all saying both teams were shite, despite us dominating for most of the game and creating chance after chance. Bunch of blind tossers.

Haha the De Gea hype starting on here now?! Their fans have been calling for him to be dropped all season!

Dunno what world this lad is from, what a reptile.
