I think when alastair used to do it, it was just attention seeking. When you're a contrarian like al it's probably annoying that the caf are relatively indifferent to Arsenal and on top of that, peterstorey expertly fills the niche of opposition supporter in all Arsenal threads, stealing all the others thunder.
Whereas we don't have anywhere near the same level of sophistication or intelligence with opposition fans in Liverpool threads. I think al thought he could fill that niche.
He couldn't. But it garnered him a lot of attention, which he loved bless him. Now imagine our total and utter indifference to Spurs (their threads are practically ghost towns here), and that might explain why some of them might choose to 'do an al'.

They are without a doubt the most deluded fans in the planet. Everything they write about is make believe.
