RAWK Goes into Meltdown 2014/2015 - The "We go again" Edition

We did turn him down to be our DoF, iirc. He was set to join, but Rodgers didn't want to work under one.

I'm still enjoying them getting so close and failing in such dramatic fashion. It's fecking brilliant, and was a fantastic end to a depressing season. Losing one of their best ever players makes it even better. That tramp dalgliesh is probably still rolling around in his piss having nightmares about it.

All tribal jokes aside, I'm really interested in this game. Liverpool will unquestionably be all out to win this, so it'll be a test untainted by the possibility of a lackadaisical friendly attitude. Beating Madrid is a great confidence boost, sure, but there was really no pride to lose for either side in the same way as a United Liverpool game. This will be a far greater barometer of our quality and chances next season IMO. Because we'll be playing a team that desperately want to beat us.

This. That will be the game where you can get some kind of decent idea of how you'll do next season.

As if your coach doesn't need this. Why is it that when an up comming match looks to be competitive, there always has to be that bunch that have the other team as " game raisers" as a built in excuse. This is the first time I can remember both clubs meeting in pre- season, so why not enjoy instead of having the usual built in excuse ready.

He isn't making any excuses.

He is saying that this match will be a more true to life test of where we are as a side as Liverpool will actually try to win the game and not use it as a run out.

I'd say that on RAWK, if United win the attitude will be that this is just a glorified pre season match.

"We go again"

Still makes me chuckle. I use it randomly at times, like after I finish a hole in golf and I walk up to the next tee..."we go again".

The most hilarious thing I find nowadays is our resident Liverpool fans coming in this thread and talking trash to defend RAWK.

I know your hands are permanently hovering over the keyboard ready to strike down anyone who has a bit of a laugh about Liverpool in this thread but you've really dug deep to find something about that post to be defensive about. There must be something else bothering you. Is it your best player leaving? Is it because Lambert replaced him? The Gerard slip still replaying in your mind? 1990 is a long time ago now isn't it?
We're here to help nj, just talk to us and let us help you

Just had a read of the latest ten pages of their LVG thread.

They've somehow convinced themselves that we're all of the view that LVG is the greatest manager in the world and that the title is guaranteed next season.

I don't know any United fans who are of these views. My impression has been that LVG is clearly a big upgrade on Moyes and that without any CL football we have no excuses for not being in the top four next season. I also think that with one or two more high calibre signings we could mount a reasonable title challenge this season.

I'm just happy to see us play a modern system of football which the players seem to have already bought into. Also pleased that some of of talented young players have been given the chance to show what they can do.

They are beating the reigning European champions. Therefore, United are now European champions. Hurrah!

What's the point of posts like this? No fecking one is saying we are now the European champions because we beat Real.

I hope LVG knows how deep the rivalry is in this fixture regardless of what type of game it is. IfUnited were playing them at tiddlywinks I'd hope he played his strongest team. But more importantly it is about building up a head of steam to take into the new season.

I'm a bit annoyed we aren't playing another foreign team tbh. This is the worst United v Liverpool game in history. It's the biggest game in English football but it'll be ruined by constant subs and a lack of anyone in the crowd from either city.

That's the beauty of RAWK. They give us so many amusing real quotes to stick in this thread, and in return they get to make up fan fiction arguments with 'a United supporting mate' in order to get quotes from United fans to discuss in their non-obsessed with United 120 page thread.

Awww bless, since you are back again I assume we are well and truly at the peak of the it's on phase of the cycle? Well, it's nice to have you back, we will enjoy your company until mid autumn when you leave as Liverpool will be so out of contention you go back into hiding

Serious questions but who runs their Twitter page? Is it a group of 15 year old fans?

Not sure if 15 year olds would know Will Smith joints from the late 90's. 40 year olds is more likely.

What? That's the very opposite sentiment to my post you loon.

A fecking friendly my arse.

Let's twat these jumped up c*nts.

Jumped up? 13 premierships in 22 seasons, five second places, three thirds and a seventh.

Liverpool: Three seconds, five thirds, five fourths, two fifths, two sixths, three sevenths and two eighth places.

I want to beat the c*nts.

It's probably a win-win for this thread. If we win we can read the denial that it was only a friendly and nobody cares. If they win it will be a laugh a minute as the proclaim themselves best team in the world and unbeatable.

I'm sensing a bit of fear!
RAWKite:

"Mate, it's Liverpool-United. There's going to be some thunderous challenges. Steven Gerrard isn't going to take it easy when he sees Rooney running through on goal. That lot is going to be up for it to put a marker down for a new season and their fanbase -- which is unbearable already -- will be even more gobshite-y if they were to win that match. I'm sure the club would have rather been done with this after today."

I'm just reading up on some of their views over on planet RAWK on the game between us and most are suggesting that they could do without the game going into the new season..Do you think they are going to use this as an excuse because they are feared of getting beat or do they have genuine concern? I can't think of a better way to warm up for the new season than a match like this...

United fans: Up for it and bring it on etc

Liverpool fans: We can do without this right now/we are understrength and they will probably beat us/means nothing etc

Without sounding too RAWK-ish, this'll be a better game than the Charity Shield, IMO. Both meaningless friendlies, mind you, but in terms of entertainment a United-Liverpool game is usually hard to beat.

I think their biggest fear is the 2 games in 3 days they have to play. (if that is true - I didn't check)
Really looking forward to this. Hopefully a win and a good performance will make teams worry about us again.

Yep. Youre spot. Arent Madrid two weeks behind in their pre season??

Thus will be a proper test.
