there's quite a lot more where that came from
Trying to tell people what they should be liking.. classic RAWK!
there's quite a lot more where that came from
They were only available on a free because they ran down their contracts, both Clubs wanted to retain their services. They are good players, no idea why some think otherwise.
They'll be fine....they've still got BallotelliCorrect, they are good players, average, nothing more. Lets be honest though, if milner was spanish would city have tried to retain him? Their English quota needs filling desperately and he was one of few Englishman around that could get games in their team in a rotation role. He wasn't starting nearly so many games until it came apparent he may not renew his contract due to lack of playing time. Likewise Ings is a good striker, for Burnley. Liverpool should be aspiring much, much higher if they want to finish above mid table. I will guarantee you he won't score 20 goals next season, which is the kind of striker they need.
Rubbish, Milner is nowhere near an average player, he’s seriously underrated on here. Would I have him at United, Yes, a squad needs his type of player, he’s versatile, experienced, can play with both feet, can get you a goal and is the perfect example of a team player. We have many very good players who many would consider not to be United quality, but they fit the way we play perfectly, that’s how Milner will be views inside Anfield.Correct, they are good players, average, nothing more. Milner is a decent signing, we've won plenty of trophies with workmen like him in the team. Ings is OK too. The problem they have is that neither is going to push them forward. That is, if the idea is to compete for top four and champions league, neither of these will do that. If the idea is to cement the 5th/6th and Europa league, these are perfect signings.
The fanbase want CL of course, I think the owners are happy with EL though, and likely why they were both signed. That is probably sensible from the business side of things, the investment needed to catch up with the top four is astronomical, but it will probably end in tears where the scouse supporters are concerned.
I thought he was potentailly the best keeper in the world a few years back. He has since been though some nervous spells, but looks ready to fulfil that promise and at the very least be a good enough back up option. I'm happy enough with this, could even put some pressure on mignolet for 1st choice.
Surely that can't be true? We're talking about the ginger Hungarian goalkeeper from Bolton, right? On Bogdan.
On Bogdan.
Good 2nd tier players for the best 2nd tier team.

As for Ings, he is worth the gamble, he is still very young (just turned 22) he has bags of potential, he will improve Liverpool. As for scoring 20 goals, our top goal scorer had something like 14 and he cost £30million 10 odd years ago.
I refuse to believe that post is anything but a WUM.On Bogdan.

Well how about because no other teams were interested in them. Or do you think Liverpool would've been their first choice if a top club had've shown interest? They were only available on a free because they ran down their contracts, both Clubs wanted to retain their services. Liverpool want to challenge for the league.
Their three first signings of the summer are going to be Ings, Milner and Adam Bogdan. It's gonna be a long summer for some on RAWK.
City wanted to keep him and there were rumour Arsenal wanted him.Well how about because no other teams were interested in them. Or do you think Liverpool would've been their first choice if a top club had've shown interest?
Keeping and buying are very different things. We keep players we wouldn't buy again, because they're decent squad players.City wanted to keep him and there were rumour Arsenal wanted him.

RAWK logic. They lose their best two players (Gerrard and Sterling) on the back of losing Suarez and try to convince themselves that average english players available on free transfers is great business. Without Sterling and penalty Steve I can see them finishing around 8-10th.
Yep, as I said though, only a rumour.Did we really?
Buy Milner and play him where exactly? On the wings ahead of Sanchez, Ozil, Ramsey, Rosicky, Wilshere, Welbeck or Walcott?
In midfield where we have Cazorla, Coquelin, Ramsey, Wilshere, Ozil etc?
I get a feeling that agents usually throw our name/Man Utd/some other club in the hat for a certain player so that when he signs for his new club, that club can then say "Look he rejected Arsenal/Man Utd to come here", or a simple negotiating tactic. Throw our name in the hat so that Liverpool get worried and try to speed up the deal.
Milner is a good player but he isn't better than what we've got in a position where we are stacked and we were never going to make him one of our three highest earners alongside Ozil and Sanchez at 150k a week.
That makes no sense.Keeping and buying are very different things. We keep players we wouldn't buy again, because they're decent squad players.
And regarding rumours...meh...every club in the top half of the table was supposedly after him at some point.
I didn't say ALL players are only kept because they're decent squad players. Of course that would be ridiculous.
Wow.That makes no sense.
We are trying to keep DeGea, is that simply because he is a decent squad player? Man City offered Milner an improved contract, maybe that was a way of getting rid of him.
Of course not, but a Club will not offer a bumper pay rise to a player that they couldn't care less about.I didn't say ALL players are only kept because they're decent squad players. Of course that would be ridiculous.
But I can't see us buying Valencia or Young if they were on the market, yet I could imagine them still getting a new contract. Same with Fellaini, I wouldn't target him as a new signing, but I'd keep him as a useful squad player.
wow what?Wow.
As in "Wow, that's one of the most ridiculous things I've read today".wow what?
Great explanation, well done.As in "Wow, that's one of the most ridiculous things I've read today".
Thanks, man, I did put in a lot of effort.Great explanation, well done.
Saying that it's the typical response of someone who can't back up their post. Thanks, man, I did put in a lot of effort.
On Bogdan.
Nice safe signing from Liverpool. At least if Bogdan doesn't fulfil his promise and potential to be the best 'keeper in the world, he'll at least make a good back up for Mignolet.I thought he was potentailly the best keeper in the world a few years back. He has since been though some nervous spells, but looks ready to fulfil that promise and at the very least be a good enough back up option. What? Do you want me to convince you that it was a ridiculous (part of your) post?Saying that it's the typical response of someone who can't back up their post.
Ok thenWhat? Do you want me to convince you that it was a ridiculous (part of your) post?
I think it's a ridiculous post, you probably don't think it is. Otherwise you hopefully wouldn't have posted it. It seems like you mistook my post for some kind of objective truth.
I agree, think both signings are decent. The problem is that in midfield and up front especially they've gone backwards so although these two will help out they'd be rotation options for better teams. Milner will fine out on the right or in a midfield three, he's only 29 and has still got the legs to play box to box. Ings would be an ideal 3rd choice striker but because Balotelli is so awful and Sturridge is broken at the moment he's the best they've got for now. I can't see them finishing above 5th next year. In fact if Spurs buy some support for Kane and defensive cover I think they'll finish above them again with Pochettino in his second year. It can all change obviously depending on who gets brought in.
Had high hopes for Aspas, like every signing we make, I thought he would turn out to be our very own Cantona. Onto the next Eric.
