RAWK Goes into Meltdown 2014/2015 - The "We go again" Edition

All these years later I still can't believe they made those t shirts in support of Suarez and then actually wore them.

Staggering.

Dalglish came across as such a cnut during his return to management at Liverpool. I remember really hating him.
I seem to remember that his first game back with them was against us (or maybe one of them), we absolutely thrashed them and the look of fear in his eyes as it all went wrong was just brilliant.

 How can anyone not love Pat?

What strikes me is that for some perceived short term gain (presumably Suarez's temporary loyalty), the club threw away any respect they might have had. Not from us, because let's face it, we're hardly unbiased and they're our biggest rivals, but from a huge number of neutrals. I talked to many people at the time, not just United fans, and almost unanimously they were sickened by the conduct displayed throughout that club, from the fans through the manager all the way to the suits. It was a PR disaster of massive proportions, and they did it entirely because they didn't want to lose a star player. They deserve every drop of opprobrium they ever got for that. It was utterly classless and, as you can tell, still makes me seethe even now.

His first game back was the FA Cup game where Stampy got sent off after a couple of minutes, wasn't it? Don't remember us thrashing them, but scoring an early penalty then proceeding to dick about for about 75 minutes as they posed no threat.

We definitely scored a couple past him, maybe my memory is rosey because I enjoyed seeing them suffer.

According to Wiki, the next encounter was the February 2-1 Utd home win, from which the pic I posted is from.

EDIT: Rooney with a quick brace after half time, and Suarez with the late consolation goal.

Was that the game with the Gerrard red card for the challenge on Carrick, and Giggs putting away the penalty after Berbatov went down? That was the FA Cup 2010-11.

That's he only game I can recall since I started supporting United in 2006 where Giggs played on the right.

Did he do that against Lille in the CL as well, long time ago, perhaps?

His first game back was a 2-1 win in the league. From memory Evra thought he scored but it took a big deflection from Vidic.

You're getting mixed up with Dalgliesh first game back which was the FA cup win (1-0) where Stevie G was sent off

I remeber when we won our last league under SAF and after the last match during the celebrations, someone I think threw a fake hand on the pitch, which Evra picked up, and took a chew :D

Yep, and RAWK were asking for him to get banned because he was "mocking the Boston bombings" :wenger:

Sterling Sturridge Ibe - as our front 3.. Next season? Can you think of a better front 3? Pace, power, trickery, energy it's fecking unreal how good those 3 could become working together. But wait, why stop there.. There is a little magician who would love to be feeding such a collection of on the shoulder speed merchants ahead.. Step forward Ser Coutinho..

Oh it's on for next year.

For me, and from my notes and thoughts, there are 49 attackers outside of England that would be attainable and usable. They are NOT all suitable to a Rodgers style now, but there are 49 names (at least) that if we were to sign one of them, we could expect a lot of them without being foolish about it. If we sign outside of that list, as far as I'm concerned, then we are signing for value and not immediate impact. We need immediate impact next season.

PhaseOfPlay?
Aye

The ideal striker for Rodgers' style of play, as far as I can see, is someone between 5'10" and 6'2" tall, quick and agile, fast but not necessarily an Olympic sprinter, but could probably do the 40 yd sprint in 4.3-4.4 seconds, if tested. Probably has a good vertical leap, is built like a middleweight, and has fast reactions. Has a good work ethic, and either likes to run at defences for 90 minutes, or is good positionally - either one would do. Capable of scoring from long range, but is better on the dribble in the box, and has a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio of games to goals, and is around 22-24 years old.

Can you imagine if we had someone like that posting on the caf. They would be mocked at every turn, not treated like some kind of god man of football.

feckin hell

"He will have a DVD collection of mainly comedy films and like the first seven series of Red Dwarf, believing that the increase in budget for the later series meant that it lost some of its charm. He will also be a Scorpio with Jupiter rising. Ideally he will be a cat person, too."

Last year, the United thread was the funniest on the entire inter tubes. Life has it's ups and downs.

Well, for Liverpool fans since the 90s, life has had downs and one up. And that up still ended hilariously with a slip back down.
