RAWK Goes into Meltdown 2014/2015 - The "We go again" Edition

I see, that's a fair bit different in that case. Sounds like there might have been a few parallels with us after Sir Alex retired in terms of the squad he left, with the successor completely failing to re-freshen and build on what was there (though Moyes failed by not doing anything worth talking about in his transfer windows, whilst it sounds like Souness failed by actually doing something in the transfer market).

Yes. I hadn't thought of it like that, but you're right.

A Letter to the Club ~

Jesus Christ, this bit is mental:
The club markets it’s support as The Twelfth Man – yet this happens? Would keeping the doors closed for the full ninety, or at LEAST 80 minutes, be possible? The argument may be “false imprisonment” but try telling that to the away fans we keep in their seats until the game is over? I am also aware of the stadium disasters both domestically and around the globe that mean this is not really a viable option, so we at least need active discouragement.

I mean, aside from wanting to violate people's human rights by imprisoning them... what a nutjob.

Our rise with Ferguson in the early 90's came about at pretty much the perfect time. This is when the money being injected into the game was starting to be taken to the next level as well. We was basically a sleeping giant, I don't think there was anything Liverpool could do to prevent themselves being dethroned at that point.

Yeah but they didnt act did they, they didnt globalize their brand nor did they act on building a bigger stadium or getting a new one. They stood and watched United explode past them and didnt act until it was too late.

I seem to recall that Liverpool has the largest Chinese community in Britain.
It would be delicious if some Scandiwegian was complaining about a born and bred scouser getting tickets.
most knowledgeable Chinese folk in Britain apparentely

If United ever took the approach Liverpool did with Suarez and his racism I would stop supporting us. Honestly one of the most disgusting things a top club has ever done and dalglish should hang his head in shame. I have plenty of Liverpool supporting family (who are all asian minorities) and the defence they came up with for Suarez was something else.

It's really sad that people could twist their own morals and opinions just for football.

That letter is a disgrace. I mean if you really must waste your weekend writing nonsense that makes you seem like a prick, then go for it. But FFS, learn how apostrophes work first.

It's not limited to sport. People do it for politics, religion, race, etc.

Only one friend who supported Liverpool came out against Dalglish and Suarez during that period. Said they were disgraceful and were dragging the club's name through the mud. Everyone else either said nothing or spouted the RAWK defence nonsense of "Did you READ the report?" (clearly having not done so themselves), "Negrito", "His granny is black, how can he be racist?", "It's his word against Evra's", etc, etc.

And I live among them, so I'm not talking just 2 or 3 people here. Nearly everyone I know supports them.

The booing of Evra whenever he played at Anfield was disgusting and something you would expect to see or hear in a nation that has history of football racism, not the UK and definitely not one of English football's most famous clubs; pitiful to say this was not emphasised by the media. I don't remember anything in the press condemning their behaviour anyway. We like our poster boy racists in this country - Suarez, as disgusting as he is carried the can - but when the issue was proven to be collective ie the booing, we just sweep it under the carpet and put it down to tribal football allegiance. Disgraceful knuts, something that only affirms my stance on why they are among the worst football fans in the world.

I asked a friend of mine why Evra was booed at Anfield. He told me that Liverpool wen through so much shit as a club because of him, and they weren't booing him racially. I obviously had a different side of the story to them, and if I wanted to know their side of it I should read Craig Bellamy's book. All a bit crazy the whole the, booing somebody who was racially abused.

The booing was bad enough but not entirely unexpected. The worst thing was they (wrongly) accused Evra of playing the race card on their official fecking website. One would think Liverpool of all football clubs would take care to check the facts out before putting it up on their site. Don't think they ever apologized for it which is disgraceful. Evra should have sued them for that.

The idiot claimed it as some sort of social experiment. Yeah feck you Kristian Walsh or whatever your name is.

It's difficult to prove their reasons why but if they were booing him as being some sort of pantomime villain it was very ill advised surrounding the issue at hand. Craig Bellamy, local lad round these parts, despised by absolutely everyone.

Yep I forgot about that, they will be forever tarnished as a result of this.

"As for there being a proper way to support Liverpool football club, there absolutely is, the club has a pretty unique culture that most other clubs in the country will never replicate. And people are worried we are losing this culture because the home and away ends are getting more and more full of people who don't get it. maybe there should be a list of "dos and donts" send with every Thomas cook ticket by the club"

Dos:
Make sure to wear all the Liverpool kit, scarves and paraphernalia you own to the game, including shorts, socks and shin pads
Talk like you have a huge glob of phlegm in the back of your throat that you just can't shift
Support racist players
Declare yourself the most knowledgeable fan in the world
Permitted haircuts are mullet or perm
If you have good teeth, knock a few of them out and take a pair of pliers to the others so they sprout off in all different directions.
Spill your tea down the front of your away kit, then give the bloke beside you a clout round the earhole - it obviously wasn't your fault.

Donts:
Behave with any class whatsoever.

I've wondered how I'd react if I was in their situation and at the very least, I would want the player sold and for us to apologise. I was pissed off because of Rooney and his contract negotiations a few years back and I've only recently started to forgive him so I think I'd react badly if we had someone like Suarez dragging our name through the mud.

 I don't remember this. I remember a statement from Suarez that was daft but not something from the club itself. Is it still there?

Same as when Chelsea fans booed Anton Ferdinand. Cnuts.

It could have been my imagination but I'm sure some booed Rio as well.

Shouldn't you be busy creating fantasy league tables where Man United would be top?

eg.

League table of points gained from games played at Old Trafford.
League table where only goals by Fellani count.
etc

A rawkite to a united supporter about fantasy league tables, but i suppose an alternative one is perfectly fine.

This. I didn't expect anything other tbh, but the white wash by the media over their booing of a player who'd reported racist abuse was a disgrace.

Went and found what Bellamy had to say about it. Funnily enough he thought it was a set up, and if it was one of our player it would have turned out differently.
Unbelievable. They tried to make it a United v Liverpool thing rather than a much more important issue.

 I don't remember this. I remember a statement from Suarez that was daft but not something from the club itself. Is it still there?

Dunno. Liverpool tried to discredit Evra right from the off though and just about stopped short of calling him a flat out liar. Their official columnist Kristian Walsh tweeted this:

Patrice Evra has accused racism of three players before today. All three have been cleared.

No doubt all of it was was planned by the club in trying to paint Evra as an unreliable witness.

At that point in time Liverpool, led by heir knight in shining armor King Kenny, lost their soul to suck up to a racist. They put their reputation on the line for what? For the cnut to bite an Italian and feck off to Barca.

This episode will keep haunting them for years.

I've heard that the owner is being investigated by the Police over a Facebook page that mocked the Hillsborough disaster.

Setting up a page like that would be despicable, but why would it have anything to do with the police?

All these years later I still can't believe they made those t shirts in support of Suarez and then actually wore them.

Staggering.

Dalglish came across as such a cnut during his return to management at Liverpool. I remember really hating him.

It's not from RAWK, but saw this on another Liverpool page.

Genuine question from united fan, with 20 odd years gone without managing to win the premiership, do you think you will win it in the next 5 years? I personally don't

First of all, we don't think in sections of 5 years or even in 20, we think in 50s, long perspective (and life). Second we don't make predictions. What we do know is that when we will win it it will be because we will make the most of a decent squad, not because our sponsor pour on us billions of pounds so we can practically buy our trophies.

In any case, wining the premiership seems a bit of a long shot for both our clubs at the moment so let's focus on the next important trophy. see you in the semi final of the FA cup, mate? Oh sorry I forgot you are not there. so maybe focus on winning your match agaisnt the 'noisy neighbour', for a change? we may genuinly wish you good luck on that one although I personally don't think you are good enough.

Yup that too. Flirted with them all summer and Liverpool fans welcomed him back. Also, I believe a part of their problem in closing contracts is because the precedent they set by going back on their word with Suarez's buyout clause. Joke of a club.
