Don't quite understand this obsession with Fabregas. Even if it comes off (big IF), would he solve the problems in midfield? He's a guy that has been below par for three years now (2 at Barca and the last year at Arsenal). Man Utd are going after brand names, when they should go after young, hungry players.

I would offer 40 mill for Ildogan and /or target the Bender twins and even test the waters for Wilshere...

Man Utd face a big risk this year. Chelsea and City should pretty much fight for top spot, and if Arsenal does get a decent striker, Man Utd might fight it out with Spurs, Everton and Liverpool for that 4th place.

We are very close to the peak of the boom-bust cycle. When they start hyping up Joe Allen the peak isnt far off.

I can't remember how long it lasted for but there was definitely a spell early last season where I thought he looked world class and was our best player by a mile. It may have lasted just a few games or 6-7 I don't rightly remember.

Christ and I thought some of you guys had trouble with calling players world class when they're not, but unlike with the players mentioned here, Joe Allen is so far away from world class its unreal.
