Didn't Liverpool need to win the last game of their champions league group when they won it in 2005?

Surprised if that doesn't get a mention.

 Fergie to blame for the demise of every other club. Classic.

Rawk moron

This league is corrupt to the bloody core

How can a team as poor as United continue to keep on winning (or competing at the top) season after season? There's no explanation other than corruption. I detest them!! Life would be so sweet if Ferguson popped his clogs and they went into meltdown. Surely the most detestable person ever to be a football manager..and a feckin 'Sir' at that...such vile corruption!

Has this weekends meltdown started yet?

Well it started a bit after their game.

Luise Suarez is a "vile human being" for what? Playing football?

But the real bummer seems to be our win tonight. Of course it's due to the ref and the corrupt FA. :D

There''s no way Utd will lose this game as the whiskey nosed tramp will have words with the ref at half time to make sure his crap team wins

Why can't the allies take down these despicable cretins like they did the Nazis?

All jokes aside, those RAWK posters should be ashamed of themselves. Wishing death on a 70 year old man??? feck right off you bin dipping cnuts!

Disgraceful, wishing death on anyone is a line no one should cross. Should be banned.

Clueless and classless.

And I'll bet they're responsible for Christopher Maloney still being in XF too.

Suarez' goal is up there with the great goals down the decades. It's up there with Bergkamp's famous turn against Newcastle, it's up there with DiCanio's volley; it's up there with Yaboah's goal against us. Those sort of goals you always remember.

How many goals do you see scored like that? As a pro, you'd think he'd have taken that into consideration? Nope. So he's a cock. Obviously has a bit of disliking for Suarez there. Those sort of goals you just have to stand up and applaud no matter who you are. Been watching football for well over 20 years, and I can't recall many scored like that. Defoe's are scored a dime a dozen.

Jesus. It was a good goal but far from a classic one.

Ive said before the Suarez goal was a superb piece of control but the actual scoring part he just sidestepped the keeper. Technically a superb chip over the keeper from the edge of the box, or a mazy run and goal or an overhead chick is always going to beat a take down and sidestep for me. Had he chested the ball in the air and volleyed the fecker past the keeper then yeah.

How the feck can they refer to that goal as being an all-time great? It's a very good goal, it deserves to be shown on match of the day and praised, but let's not go over the top. It's not a unique goal, most top strikers are capable of such technique. They're ridiculous.

James Wilson, in our U18s, scored an almost identical goal a couple of days after Suarez scored his.

If the league is corrupt then why do they even bother following their team ? It's already fixed anyway

A question I ask every fan of any sport when they start going on and on about games being fixed, corrupt, etc. It usually stops the conversation dead in it's tracks, then they give some lame excuse about being lifetime fans, hoping it gets better, etc. All kind of stuttered out. On a few occassions they will back off and admit they are just having a bit of a fit because things are not going their way.

On one occassion actual had a guy quit watching NASCAR (he is a neighbor, his wife confirms he does not watch it anymore) when I presented him with this logic.

I stopped following cricket after the countless mat-fixings incidents.

Question for oldies. Were United fans conspiracy theorists back in the 70s and 80s?

Definitely not, nothing near the crazy stuff you see from the dipper fans today... however we didn't have Sky, Twitter, phone-in's and all the intense media coverage we have today, so perhaps there was some element of it, but was confined to the local pub where you'd grumble with you're mates after a game.

There was no way to see if bad decisions were being made in other games, as MotD only covered 2 or 3 games in their highlights and there weren't cameras at every ground.

I do remember though in the mid to late 80's that there seemed to be always plenty of added time in dipper games which they often scored in to draw or win a match... especially at home. Sound familiar? ;)

I don't think realistically the league is corrupt, and that's without bias, the reason being is simple:

1. United often got screwed last minute, not a simple match, but often an end of season deciding match (chelsea's offside goal, City's last minute red card + 2 goals)
2. We're not the richest, if bribery is at hand
3. A corrupt match fixing every week surely needs a CIA level of operation to pull, what's the odds 19 teams are doing it against liverpool?
4. Surely Roman / Sheikh have their own goons to investigate if indeed United are corrupt
5. A competitive league is beneficial to everyone
6. Why the feck would anyone wants to sabotage a lower tier team like Liverpool?

Nope, but as someone mentioned above, there were less places to vent and , mor eimportantly, find other pissed off people to vent with and come up with these excuses.

Also remember, unless you went to the game, all you would see is 15 minute highlights of each game on match of the day on saturday night.

Mostly, when I used to go to Old Trafford we accepted we were a bit shit over a season and looked forward to some decent cup runs each year and some half decent performances to entertain us on the home games.
