Normally, Liverpool just run around & hassle us until we're knackered. However, we now have RVP & they struggle to keep him from scoring against them.

We always seem to give up Set-pieces goals(im including penos in that statement) to them.

In the last two seasons we have played them 5 times. We have conceded 9 goals. 5 have been from set-pieces. Only three have been from open play and one of those was a gift from nani.

We really need to stop this to have any chance this time around. If we didnt give tham a silly set-piece goal they would really struggle.

Edit just have to check that stat out.

11/12 Fa Cup concede goal from corner
11/12 OT concede goal from free kick
11/12 Anfield concede goal from free kick

10/11 OT one goal from free kick, one from penalty
10/11 One goal from Free kick

They've lost Kuyt who was always a nuisance and Lucas is injured. He just seemed hell bent on fouling us everytime we had the ball.

With Brendan Rodgers trying to get them to actually play football might work in our favour.

We're no match for their open letters, poems & homoerotic fiction; our lot can't even spell Frogie's name correctly on Facebook.

Could easy be the case. We are well due to give them a hiding though. Cant wait for it! Good feeling this year I have!

What are their views on the match? Are any of them even talking about it? Can't find anything

They're not allowed to post 'preview' threads of matches until their next fixture is over n' done with, mate. And people moan about the Caf...

I know about that but they are not even mentioning us in normal topics.

edit - Never mind, Im looking at the wrong section

edit x2 - Wow, they are really limited in what they are allowed to post. Cant find shit.

It wasn't only harrasing and fouling as some want to believe. They actually bettered our passing at times and were looking a genuinely top side. Frustrating as hell that they've been able to retain the energy level.

in 2006/07 we won thanks to VdS and O'Shea. It was a magical year anyway.
2007/08 We went there with a then fantastic Anderson with Hargreaves and won the midfield battle. Won through well worked corner I believe. (the cnut scored)
2008/09 They deserved their win, we only played well for the first 15 minutes.
2009/10 We didn't even play well for 15 minutes.
2010/2011 Beat the shit out of us.
2011/2012 Pretty even-steven, their free-kick decision was a bit dodgy. Again, we needed a corner to create anything.

It hasn't been mere harrasing etc, they were just miraculously becoming good at football for 90 minutes. All of them.

Fun reading their Squad List thread, half of them still can't get the rules right and they spent most of the first page moaning about a player that is left out of the squad who it turns out is qualified as an under 21, lol.

I always feel Fergie plays Anfield like an away tie in Europe. I hope he lets the shackles off and goes at them full throttle this time.

Think we have a decent squad (left) so I reckon 5th is possible, all things considered.

Although I do have a sneaky feeling about this season. Reckon the mancs will finish below us.

That's it, they're gonna conquer the league from now on :(

Is that seriously a legit quote? I mean you'd think after my couple of years of reading this forum (and these threads) that I'd be desensitized to their delusions by now, but the idea of Liverpool finishing above us this season is pretty out there even by their standards :wenger:

Manchester United could win fifty titles, but they will always be the Rolling Stones of football. Good, just not quite that band from Liverpool.

Proud of our history, but hungry for more.

LOL:lol: unbelievably deluded and clueless about music too.

I can't read anything about The Beatles and Liverpool without remembering Ed Byrne's joke.

They called it John Lennon Airport cos that was the first place he went to when he got a bit of money.

I always preferred the Stones to the Beatles.

The only thing that really baffles me though is how we manage to always end up as the villains that are holding them back.

You might think they would actually blame Chelsea and City for spending so much that they can't compete anymore and lost their top 4 position.

Or that they blamed their shitty managers that gradually transformed their club into a mid-table team.

But nooo let's blame SAF and Manchester United instead.

Really didn't expect that when I clicked to see why this had been bumped...

Could someone find me that video of Shelvey making those idiotic mistakes? I would be very thankful to him cause I am looking for them.

This poster actually does a good job outlining their downfall over the years:

How to waste money and become mediocre- Liverpool's transfer dealings, 2008-2012

Was a long but quite an honest article i think.

What I fould very funny was one poster (its the 2nd comment I think) claims that the fact that Liverpool didnt allow Fulham to push them around over the Dempsey fee shows how shrewd Liverpool are with transfers... Its amazing to see that that is what he got out of that article.

You can really learn to see (actually create) a silver lining to everything from a Liverpool fan..

We play good at Anfield but they usually raise their game and always manage something, weather it is pushing the wall or Ryan Giggs protecting his knob (was that anfield, forgot?)

I reckon it is time we smash them at their ground.

you mean Heysel?

We've let them hussle us there for the last few years and refs are intimidated by the crazed crowd and let them do it. The assault on Nani and Owen getting pulled back just two ridiculous examples of direlection of duty from refs. Funny thing is, they hadn't beaten us for dunno, 5 years or something, home or away and now we can't get a result there. Time for a change.
