A novel idea from their New Stadium thread:

Peter with reports that he Birds Nest Stadium in Beijing is not being used.... and is costing $11m a year to maintain hot would be the implications of making a bid for it? Could it be taken apart and rebuilt here economically? It apparently cost $450m to build..... its not being used so a sneaky $150m -$200m bid for the most ironic stadium in the world. Rework a Kop into it....it's currently 80k capacity.

I know a bit far fetched but would it be possible?

WTF? And how do they plan to move the bird's nest to Liverpool? That would cost an absolute fortune!

To be fair, they are surrounded by the joys of Soccernomics and Moneyball: long, impressive sounding words. Some fans have defended, with a straight face, the signings of Carroll and Downing as bargains based on some policy. Suddenly, all Liverpool fans are statisticians.

If I may rant for a second... It is so easy to take a set of data and fit a plausible-sounding theory into it. It is a lot harder to start with that theory and squeeze the real data into it (before realising you are cherry-picking).

You are clearly new to the fiscal wonderwall that is Dippernomics.

That whole idea is so fecking mental. Pie in the sky stuff.

The fecking state of Dalglish in that photo.. What the feck.
The comics are horrid but the comments at the bottom of the article are just the icing on the cake.

Hilarious.

I never fail to laugh at their defending on Dalglish's spending.

Almost as good as the old days when Rafa had nowt to spend and Johnson/Aquilani were good buys, etc.

Hipster Liverpool.

They're going to move into a new stadium, but they're going to do it ironically.

2011: Dortmund champions with Sahin
2012: Real champions with Sahin
2013: One can only dream..

Does this mean its on?

2011: Manchester United champions with Hargreaves
2012: Manchester City champions with Hargreaves
2013: Wait, where is he?

A novel idea from their New Stadium thread:

Combined with the money they get from the scrap metal from Anfield, they're probably only looking at about $50m. They'll have basically got a brand new stadium for almost nothing.

bargain laa

Not rawk, but my friend thinks Allen is better then Carrick

Lucas is out for 3 months they are all moaning about it.
Joe Allen is twice the player. Lucas will be forgotten by the end of there season.

I am going to miss his obligatory fouling machine 5 yellow cards and a ban so early in the season.

I don't think Lucas is either as good or as bad as many here think he is. He's a decent option for them, and I think he'd nail down a starting place on this team.

Sure, I think he's a good squad option for any team who need a limited ball winner.

However RAWK think he's an elite midfielder up there with the best and watch entire compilations of him making last ditch tackles and fouling people and proclaim how amazing he is.

As has been said before, his reputation has gone on an upward spiral since he picked up a long term injury. This latest knock should see him right up there with Messi and Ronaldo.

Not what I meant. I meant on Liverpools team. But he probably would get a game for us too.

Yeah, in the same way that Dong Fangzhou got a game for us.

I spose I should edit this to say that's a joke. You're right about Lucas, he's not as bad as people here make out and he's not as good as their lot make out. When it comes down to it, he's essentially their Fletcher, only not as good.
