RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2012/2013)

You see, this is delusion.

I'm all for supporting your team, as said in another thread, I also follow my home town team Burton Albion (could be promoted this year yay!) , but I am under no illusion about how good they actually are.

Thinking for a minute that the liverpool squad of August 2012 could get ahead of either Manchester club let alone both is just insane.

They were never, ever going to get 4th , let alone 2nd or 1st, I personally think with the players they have, 7th is doing rather well, if they finish ahead of Swansea I'd consider them punching above their weight, largely down to suarez, who in fairness is probably the best player outside of the top clubs in this league.

You talk about not being deluded and then claim Swansea have a better squad than Liverpool?

To be honest I'm not sure he's far wrong. Liverpool have Gerrard and Suarez, but beyond that I don't see anyone on their roster who Swansea can't match.

Put it this way, if there was a way to stake £44,000 on it, it would be an infinitely safer bet than Liverpool to win the PL.

Liverpool have Suarez, and on occasion still Gerrard, but other than that, they really do not have the quality any more. People assume liverpool must be better simply because they are Liverpool, we all expect them to be better. The majority of their players now are very ordinary, Reina is half the player he was two seasons ago, the two full backs have been awful this year, and Allen is not as good as leon Britton, although brenton is asking him to play that position far too often, which makes me wonder why he bought allen to play him there.

Evertons squad is better than Pool, the three london clubs and us and city are far, far superior, Swansea really are about there level now. Sturridge isnt someone who will elevate them, hes the exact tries a bit messes up a lot too many flaws to be a top player signing you would expect the swanseas and west broms to be making.

Liverpool have a much better squad than Swansea. Don't be daft. Man for man Liverpool have the better players in virtually every position.

It's been at least a day since a Brendan Rodgers interview or press conference; has he retired?

 That thread and Steve.

I love the way that poster upped his scouse levels by referring to Rafa as mate.

Alright Rafa, mate?

It was the same when Dalglish was manager:

Of course, I support King Kenny 100% and wouldn't want any other manager in the world but...come back, Rafa, I'm f*cking begging you! Argh Christ, I've wet meself...

Oh yes, people. It's that time of the year again....

Consecutive clean sheets mean that Pepe Reina is now up to second in the Golden Gloves battle for 2012-13.

Shut-outs against West Ham and Reading took the Spaniard to 11 cleans sheets this season - just three behind current leader Joe Hart.

This is despite the fact that Reina has played five fewer games because of injuries.

Overall, Liverpool have kept 13 clean sheets this term - with Brad Jones contributing two. Last season's total was 12.

Reina has won the coveted Golden Gloves three times - more than any other goalkeeper since the award was created in 2004-05.

With just five games remaining, it is going to be difficult for him to catch the Manchester City and England stopper - but a fourth award is still possible

Grind out some more largely useless 0-0 performances, get overtaken by West Brom (they have a match in hand and are ideally just three points behind) - and Reina is a shoo-in for the coveted Golden Gloves award. Would make it all worth it, wouldn't it?

I'm sick of our keeper never winning the golden gloves. Every summer we have high hopes of this finally being our year but we always fall short. It's a fecking disgrace. Fergie hasn't a clue

Next season we should play 10-0-0 formations, seek to draw every game 0-0. Might be relegated, but the all important golden gloves would be secure.

If you take our average points scored and multiply it by the number of games they've played you get 5,476.

Not RAWK but some funny stuff from 'dennis tooth' of The Liverpool Way forum:

Benitez to black up
26-11-12

RAFAEL Benitez will don blackface during his time at Chelsea in a bid to reduce abuse from fans and players.

Benitez believes that becoming the league’s first minstrel-manager will be so confusing to everyone that they will be too scared to criticise him in case that makes them racist or black, or a black racist.

Benitez said: “I’m hoping to baffle the fans into stopping their booing by slapping on boot polish and answering all future questions in a thick Jamaican accent.

“At the very least it’ll make them think I’m not the guy who hated their guts whilst at Liverpool as they’re an easily-confused bunch.

“I also expect the players will start telling reporters that some of their best friends are me, so that will help training sessions go a bit more smoothly.”

He will further wrongfoot the team by playing only reggae played by white performers such as UB40 on the team bus and travelling with his father, who has been dressed up as a Sikh.

Benitez added: “If this fails I can always go back to the old schtick of pretending to be a paranoid lunatic with delusions of grandeur that kept Liverpool fans entranced for nearly six years.”

The Spanish beard model has been criticised by supporters for his incendiary comments about how he believed they could win the Champion’s League.

Many Chelsea fans protested against Benitez’s appointment by buying an expensive ticket for yesterday’s games so that they could wave misspelt handwritten signs that may or may not make him resign.
----------------------------------------------------------------

...Since Rodgers’ appointment players have been banned from any references to ‘playing football’ and instead must describe it as ‘The Process’.

‘The Process’ goes beyond standard training and tactics to include counting blades of grass and learning how to install geothermal heating systems.

The players were also instructed to travel to Sierra Leone and hand over a secret package to ‘The Turk’.

Rodgers added: “The eagle cannot consider the fears of the rabbit.”

I just realised. Liverpool fans cling onto the 18+5 of the two biggest pots. We will be 20+3 when we pick up this title ;)

So let me get this straight they are back on for the quadruple again? Golden gloves, Golden boot, Merseyside trophy, and the assist assists honours, and theres even the possibility of the 'we kept a world class player for another season' trophy, although that looks unlikely, due to them not winning anything that holds any shred of actual importance to a season.

Its funny how they constantly say how much bigger they are than us (Chelsea) and in historical terms they are right , yet they are quite happy to indirectly show their new found small time attitude by consoling themselves with increasingly desperate attempts at success.

Rob, don't forget the "great reception we gave to Rafa" award that they will be winning this weekend.
