RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2011/2012)

Hilarious, certifiable stuff about the prospect of Johan Cruyff becoming Liverpool's new Director of Football:

I bet you Cryuff's ego would mull over any offer. You're credited with modernising Barcelona, and with having the greatest Ajax team. ... You can just imagine him thinking "Yeah, feck it, I want some credit for Liverpool winning stuff again 'n' all".

Man all this stargazing has me irrationally excited about a team like:

CEO - Dein
Commercial Director - Ayre
Guardian of the philosophy - Dalglish
DoF - Txiki Begiristain
Mgr/Head Coach - Rafa/AVB/Kenny
Academy - Segura/Borrell
..
..
Medical - Burgess
Attack Coach - ??
Def Coach - Clarke
GK Coach - Valero

Sometimes I believe RAWK is a satirical forum and almost everyone is on wind up.

Because most of the posts really really don't make normal sense.

Oh God...

Cruyff a better player than Dalglish? I think not

Cruyff won a league that has never been as competitive as the First Division was in Kenny's day, it is a bit like saying Souness was great manager at Rangers! He wasn't as successful as Kenny was in management but I suppose it depends if you where around then?

It's about time we heard from Pele about this debate.

Honestly, if you asked anyone globally Dalglish wouldn't figure in the top 10-20. Let alone better than Cruyff who is easily top 5.

I'm staggered... I saw Dalglish play several times and he was a brilliant player, truly gifted. But how even the most deluded Scouser can think he was better than Cruyff? Words fail me!

This certainly takes some beating in the delusion stakes - just when you thought they couldn't reach a higher level. Next it will be Barry Venison > Cafu or Gary Ablett > Baresi

I even had a Liverpool fan telling me today that Dalglish was the best player of the 80s, better than Platini, Maradona, etc :wenger:

Funny reply in that thread to him, as true 11 years later as it was then.

In my eyes it is quite simple. Just becuase of the success you once had, you think you are better than the rest of us and have some devine right to be the best. Even now when we are the best (we are still champions) you cannot appreciate what we have done and still harp on back to the old days. You are all living in the past. Whenever we argue with you, your only reply is that your have won 18 titles and 4 European Cups. Well congratualations, I hope you enjoyed them because they matter diddly-squat to what is happening today.

Plus, you are the biggest bunch of dole blundging, thieving, unemployable, shell-suit wearing, crap speaking bunch of t*ssers on the planet. And it p*sses me off to think that my hard earned tax that I pay is going to pay for you all.

Guardian of philosophy is a fitting title for kk. you know how people in all philosophic when drunk.

It's massively deluded.

Cruyff is in that second tier of players discussed when the age old Greatest Player Ever debate is trotted out, with the top tier being Maradonna and Pele, and the second tier being like Zidane, Cruyff, Best, di Stefano etc.

Dalglish, as good as he was, doesn't feature for a long while after that if we're going down the list.

Bring Cruyff in.

Let him buy the players. Start to build his team.

Push Dalgish out or fire him.

Cruyff steps in as manager.

Deluded? So are you mate if you think those players are "second tier".

Not "second tier" in the sense of second rate, but in the sense that it's fairly safe to say that a vast majority of football fans think that the best player the world has ever seen is either Maradonna or Pele.

Then there's this group of other players (Cruyff, Best etc) that are also mentioned as being some of the best to ever play the game but without the widespread suggestion that they're the best ever.

I see what you mean. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
