We've just signed a colossus...

Come in and walk round him.

Andy+Carroll.jpeg

feck off the cringeworthy re-workings of the Torres song.
feck off the inevitable photoshopping that people are going to do.
feck off the melodrama and tears if you're over 16 years of age.

This lad is our new number 9. He's one who wants to play for Liverpool Football Club. For Kenny. For us.

Support him from the word go. He has the potential to be an absolute monster. Our monster.

His new strike partner isn't bad, either. It's a duo no defence will want to mess with. Defenders will be absolutely goosed at the full-time whistle.

The reds are coming up the hill, boys.

We've just signed a colossus...
feel bad for newcastle. Shitty owner and lose their best local talent for years.
he has so many of the same qualities as Shearer it's quite frightening.
Think he's going to be a revelation. Him and Suarez both... but won't somebody think of the poor Premier League defenders? They're going to get a fecking pasting, and no mistake!

 Great thread.

The more I think about Carroll n Suarez up front, I get more concerned that the opposition's defences r gonna get seriously shafted. feckin YESSSSSSSS!

Suarez & Carroll is a match made in football heaven, its going to be all good.

You've made me smile again.

Our new strike partnership has definitely got to be on par if not better than the ones in Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal and <cough>Chelsea<cough>,

On here when things get bad, like after the City loss for example or a few occasions I remember in the newbies, even when things were at their worst threads weren't really locked and while there were some members who were venting, there were also a few others who said it's not the end of the world and added some balance. That's what you need to do, let the members vent and some others will calm things down. Locking every thread is just going to make things worse.

Also helps that there's a promotion system on here so when things do get very bad, most of the "damage" happens in the newbies and not as much here. Whereas on there it's all concentrated in the one place.

I think the Caf moderates itself to to a certain degree. Extreme views are welcomed but if one crosses that thin red line of good taste then gets the bollocking from the users as well. This and the promotion system, IMO it's really working.

 Can't stop laughing when the occasional Rawkite starts with the moneyball talk.

 @ Olly

There's a thread on RAWK called Locked. It was started to ask why threads on RAWK are locked. It's locked.

There is no-one capable of turning the fortunes of this club around other than Kenny. He must be devestated after watching that. One thing's for sure, the gloves are off. Couldn't have come at a better time tbf with the games coming up. After his shower tonight, he'll have had time to reflect and by crikey, the whip will be getting cracked tomorrow...I presume he'll have them in.

As for the players, let's not start to separate them from who Kenny bought and who he didn't, that's unfair to both. It also doesn't matter now. Kenny will bin those off he believes aren't cutting it. You don't concur? Read Aldo's book, talk to Phil Neal, have a word with Sammy Lee, fecking ruthless he is. They are all, every single one of them, in the last chance saloon, some may even be getting jibbed as we speak.

Finally, he will be thorough in questioning himself. He didn't get the phenominal success both as a player and manager by thinking he knew it all. No stone will be left unturned in his quest to put this right. For he is a man driven. Devoted to the club and it's people, determined to put the club back where it belongs. If our fanbase has 10 per cent of the character and strength of mind he possesses we will be fine and dandy.

I'm no romantic but I challenge anyone to put forward a coherent argument to convince me there is someone else out there to take us forward.

In Kenny I Trust

"For he is a man driven."... what is it with RAWK and archaic/quasi-poetic language?

Yep. I agree completely.

I think RAWK could moderate itself to a certain degree too. It's the same with any site but the users there aren't really being given that chance to. It does look like that full time thread wasn't locked another time which is a start, though I'm not sure whether the staff stuck to what they said and banned people who had an overly negative view or not.

Most threads being locked happen around match time and why is that? It's because they want to talk about the match but can't because of the commentary thing so they vent about players in the player threads instead and they get locked. Keep a match thread open and sure the odd person may post in a player thread but so what? We've seen on here the criticism of some of our players but then there's always an opposing view which adds a balance to things.

In a match thread they can vent about a player in there at the time and then at full time if they wish they can post that same view in the player thread, or because it's out of their system/the player had a good end to the match they may change their opinion.

Give the members respect and stop treating them like five year olds by locking so many threads and they'll appreciate it. It's a shame as the site does some things so well, like what they did with Anne Williams and but then they let themselves down in other areas.

Your location really creeps me out.

Having read the post that Plech quoted, I feel some of it is typically RAWKish (and therefore, laughable) and some of it rings true. With the best will in the world, some of the Liverpool players are too young to recall LFC & Dalglish's best years, the times when he & the club were very successful; therefore, these players might just view KD as an old man, rather than the legend older supporters consider him to be. This is regrettable, though no doubt some of our younger players might view SAF in much the same way - but, the difference is, SAF is successful now whereas Dalglish isn't. So, even if we give Kenny the benefit of the doubt & concede that he may be an excellent manager, some of his players will not equal him for drive, effort and nous, and some will simply not respect him enough to match his standards & meet his expectations. So, I can't see him lasting as manager beyond two seasons - not just because he might not be a 'top table' manager anymore but also because not a few of his players will let him down.

Unless he gracefully steps aside (pfffffffffffttttttttttt), I don't see how he won't remain as manager. No one in their right mind will sack him. Instant public enemy number one status is guaranteed with the scousers, for anyone foolish enough to do so.

Oh yeah mate, I agree that he'd be offered the chance to step down - no way would he be (publicly) fired. But he should never have been appointed in the first place, of course.

After the way he undermined Hodgson, I would be delighted to see Kenny publically sacked. Wishful thinking.

The place is weird, none of them actually understand how football works, and most of them cannot actually remember Liverpool winning a league title yet hang on to historics. They are literally a bunch of totally moronic cnuts that would in all honesty be impossible to moderate. The gas part is that your thread gets locked or you get banned for saying negaitve things about LFC, yet you can wish death and murder against United players and United fans at will. That's how sick those cnuts are!

We had a little upstart tell us we were as bad as those lot.

Yep. And it's not even like it's just one or two members there talking about that either. They seem to get pleasure in talking about the death of Fergie or one of our players possibly getting their legs broken and nothing's done about it.

Andy, Howard Webb's second team after Rotherham is ....Liverpool.

I've met him socially and its a fact (he'll never admit it publically though until after he retires, if at all....)...

Now just seen this at half time:

Mike Dean

Any reds who stayed at The Ambassador in Istanbul would know that his dislike of the Mancs and Ferguson would put Andy to shame.
So both Mike Dean AND Howard Webb both hate United. Webb's second team is Liverpool and Dean resides on the Wirral. So Yernited were right all along - every ref is against them!

I stopped in shit hole hotel. Sure it was called something like Ambassador but can assure you it was not a place were Mike Dean would have stopped in and I'm pretty confident he didn't. Did the Ambassador have a huge billboard outside with a woman on it?

And of course both of them feature in this video:

Utter stupidity from Moron@Allerton about Evra:

Noticeable that none of his teammates wanted to be interviewed with the horrible little shit.

I don't know if this is the right thread, but I'd just like to point out that today is Liverpool day.

Liverpool day is a day when you can all ridicule me for being anally obsessive about the scouse shite, but in my defence I lived through two decades of ever-increasing Liverpool domination, and that's why around this time every year, I look to see whether it's Liverpool day yet or not. Because I like it, and even now I'm kind of more relaxed when it comes along.

Liverpool day is the day when the number of games left in the season is the same as out points lead over them.
