Funny there's no mention of the Mata miss which should have been 3-0 at HT.

The fact that DDG never made a save of note.

The fact that they were reduced to shooting from range when they couldn't get behind our defence.

The fact that their best opportunities came form set pieces or 'long ball' as it's sometimes known.

A heart warming little story until you realize the daughter like most of the people featured in RAWK stories is completely imaginary.

I not sure if I'd call it heart warming.

In fact, if I wasn't convinced she was wasn't real, I'd be a little worried.

I have a vision of this poor child, forced to be dressed full kit, sat on a straight back chair directly in front of the screen while her "father", also in full kit, jumps around screaming at the screen, reciting pseudo-religious verses about King Kenny, Rafa and Suarez and commanding the child to BELIEVE!!!. That's be scary for a seven year old.

Maybe I've just read too much RAWK goes into meltdown...

Managers like Klopp and Pep will always have a bit of bother against the masters of the shape + counter in one offs ... On the other hand, the way the likes of Klopp gear their teams, over the season the higher risk positionally and more focus on possession at the cost of these details do seem to pay off in the league but for knockout football, we have to be very sharp on these things.
Can somebody let this guy know it was a league game against a higher placed team? Thanks.

Sensible...
We've gone very blueshite talking about referees after we've lost, again.

We take the piss out of the Ifithadn'tbeen shite but recently we are just as bad.
Not having it...
Hope you are willing to tell Jürgen that.
What do you mean after we lost, again? We dont lose often, only 2 games in 20 league games.

They know that Jose out thought Orange Gnashers. It's all saving face on there.

That eel lobo guy is the most angry/deluded of them all. You can't have a differing opinion otherwise "You're a Manc!!!"

Another bitter disappointment for the RAWK. I can report that Utd seem to have won on the xG too. Though that's mainly (from what I can work out) because the own goal has an xG of zero. As an imaginary goal on the imaginary scoreboard it doesn't count. fecking corrupt cnuts etc.

Definitely. Just look at this gem from Paul Tompkins, who completely lost it:
I think there are some legitimate comments in here tbf.

The fact that we scored two goals from goalkicks is fine - every team takes goalkicks - and Maria's chance would have been a great goal. But we completely sat back in the second half and let them back into it. It's kind of understandable given we've got Sevilla on Tuesday but when we play like this it smacks of Mourinho over-complicating things to prove his own intelligence. Had Liverpool been given a penalty we'd be slaughtering Mourinho on here and rightly so.

Mou has definitely improved us and we've had some great results lately but the hoofball is tough to watch and we should be better with the resources we have. Liverpool fans are right about that.

At the end of the day though, they barely created a chance with all the pressure we gave them and, for an attack that's supposed to be among the best in Europe, that should be worrying for them. They can't just expect teams to open up and let them run riot - if they can't find a way past a good defence that's their problem not ours.

Their complaints are as weak as those of a brawler moaning that he got outboxed; fundamentally irrational in the context.

We're all taking thread off topic now. That guy will appear soon and rightly so!
I hear you. This'll be my first image post.

Sometimes Steve, you'll come out with a beautiful and hard hitting post. That was one of them.

Not often enough, mate. But then, standards have declined since Frogie rode into the sunset... :D

That was classic Rawk from 2009. Nearly a decade later and they still haven't won the league.

This season has been a fantastic one for me as a Liverpool supporter. I couldn’t have enjoyed everything about it any more. Everything from beating United 4-1, or drawing with stoke City 0-0, to 4 all thrillers with Chelsea and Arsenal respectively. It’s been absolutely fantastic and I’ve loved every single minute of the ups and downs on the pitch.

What’s really stirred me though, what has made me so buoyant about my club, world football and particularly about our future, is the signs this season holds in clear view, in flashing red and white lights for everybody involved in top flight football and indeed for the world to see. What has particularly has fascinated me, has been Mr Ferguson’s reaction.

Before I go on however, I’m still looking no further than the remainder of this season. There’s still so much to play for. It’s unlikely that we will win the title, and yes we know how we love nothing more than to achieve the impossible, but I didn’t expect us to come even this far at the beginning of September. It’s another reason about my joy with this season – I knew it was possible we could do this well, but because I didn’t expect it to be the case makes it much the sweeter. The same way I don’t expect us to win the title, but that’s certainly not to say we aren’t capable of it, I know we are.

And that’s the reason I refuse to lose belief. We may well come off second best but by feck do I want to go down without a fight to the death. We are not going to win feck all unless we fecking want it. We need to absolutely steam roll anyone who stands in our way until it is mathematically impossible for us to clinch it. Put the pressure on the neighbours down the road. That’s the only way they will buckle, if we force them too. Giving up the title now would be like handing it them on a plate. feck….that.

It really will blow one last warning into United’s face for next season, finishing strong this time round. It sends a message loud and clear that we are capable of fighting until the bitter, bitter end, and that’s what they will be up against next season. Not only will Rafa, the players, staff and fans be ferociously snarling and seething at the mouth come September, but United and Fergie will be fully aware that we are psychologically tough and determined enough to throw a full assault at the title next season. Not only that, but Rafa has the summer time to analyse and tinker with this already extremely strong squad; just a few minor adjustments to really let the shackles off.

Mr Ferguson is all too aware of this threat, and this season his ears have pricked and he’s started barking. He and Rafa have never been, how do you say…? As thick as thieves - you could almost taste a strong disliking to one another. Rafa came here as we became his project. The man refuses to be second best. His mentality is to win. The best manager in the world, managing the best team in the world, that he has created and sculpted, and are the dominate force in all European football. That’s his goal over the next 5 years. Doubtlessly.

And how Mr Fergoson disapproves. The media coverage this season between the two has riled me, humoured me, and caused endless debates between me and my mates. As much as it has caused mixed emotions and discussions, it’s intrigued me. It’s fantastic to see Fergie so wound up. He’s rattled alright, big time.

He knows full well that the pressure is on this season. If we carry on the way we have been with the run in we’ve got, he knows we will not stop rampaging through games until the race is done and dusted. He’s spoken out a lot this season, in his usual manner, lacking in discretion, and a full on approach. That’s how he works when his back is up, and it’s held him in good stead for a number of years. Rafa however, is subtle and mischievous in his handling of the media, making his point clear but giving nothing away. Never would you see the man sinking to the desperate lows of calling up his mate and saying “look how Mr Ferguson has disgraced you”. Rafa isn’t here to make friends in the right places and manipulate people, he’s here to fight one on one with whoever stands in his way of dominance.

It is clear Mr Ferguson isn’t just scared of throwing this season away. He’s scared of being knocked off his perch in the long term. The wrath he will face next season as we pounce towards his jugular while he’s still barking away has him massively concerned. That’s why he is barking just so loudly while we stare and snarl with intent. It’s one last desperate attempt to scare off Benitez. One last throw of the dice before the fight threatens his superiority.

Well I’m sorry Mr Ferguson, although I’m not all that apologetic about it. But we are obsessed with that title. We might not win this battle, but the war is just beginning. You’d have to agree though, Mr Ferguson, that surely the war can’t go on all that long? You are an aging dog I’m afraid, Sir. You have to ask yourself the question Mr Ferguson, have you got enough fight in you to compete for the long haul? To finally put United’s name above Liverpool’s? And even if you do somehow manage that Mr Ferguson, how long will it last, given your age? One season? It’s hardly putting Manchester United in a league of their own, in the grand sceme, Mr Ferguson. If I might be so bold.

Even if we don’t win feck all this season ladies and gentleman. We will not fall to pieces. Rafa is bringing back the glory days. And I do apologise Mr Ferguson, but there is feck all you can do about it.

The best thing about that post was quite how wrong he was. He's absolutely cocksure that it was the start of a 5 year plan Benitez had to lead them to becoming the best team in Europe.

In case anyone's forgotten here's a timeline of events just before, and following that post to see how well that 5 year plan went for them:

14th March 2009 - In their 29th fixture of the season, Liverpool beat Manchester United 4-1 at Old Trafford, closing the gap to 4 points (United have a game in hand).

21st/22nd March 2009 - Manchester United lose 2-0 away to Fulham, while Liverpool beat Aston Villa 5-0, closing the gap to 1 point (United still have a game in hand).

21st April 2009 - Liverpool save a point with a 94th minute equaliser in a 4-4 draw with Arsenal. They move to the top of the table on goal difference (United now have 2 games in hand).

22nd April 2009 - Manchester United reclaim top spot a day later after beating Portsmouth 2-0. The gap is now 3 points and United still have a game in hand.

24th April 2009 - "I do apologise Mr. Ferguson" is posted to RAWK, foretelling the downfall of Manchester United and the rise of the future best team in Europe, Rafael Benitez's Liverpool.

13th May 2009 - Manchester United, still 3 points clear of Liverpool in 2nd, play their game in hand away to Wigan. After conceding a first half goal by Hugo Rodallega, United come from behind in the second half to win, after Michael Carrick scores an 86th minute winner. The gap is now 6 points with two games remaining and United need just a point from their final two fixtures to secure the league title.

16th May 2009 - Manchester United see out a comfortable 0-0 draw at home to Arsenal and secure their 18th league title (and their third in successive seasons), equalling the record number previously held by Liverpool. When Liverpool lifted their 18th title, United were still on 7.

27th May 2009 - Manchester United play their second Champions League final in as many seasons, having lifted the trophy the season before. They lose 2-0 to Barcelona. Liverpool were knocked out in the quarter finals.

30th June-8th July 2009 - Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Manchester United for Real Madrid for a world record transfer fee. Antonio Valencia, Michael Owen and Gabriel Obertan are signed as his replacements. Mame Biram Diouf would represent United's final summer dealings upon his arrival on 30th July.

4th-9th August 2009 - Xabi Alonso leaves Liverpool, joining Ronaldo at Real Madrid. The move comes a year after Benitez seemingly wanted to replace Alonso with Gareth Barry, ultimately failing to sign the Englishman. Alberto Aquilani joins Liverpool from Roma as Alonso's replacement.

25th October 2009 - In the 10th fixture of the season, Liverpool beat Manchester United 2-0 at Anfield in the Premier League. Manchester United drop from 1st to 2nd and Liverpool move up to 5th as a result. The gap between the teams is 4 points.

28th October 2009 - Liverpool are knocked out of the League Cup in their second game after being beaten 2-1 by Arsenal. Alberto Aquilani makes his Liverpool debut, coming on as a 76th minute substitute.

8th/9th December 2009 - Manchester United secure the top spot in their Champions League group by beating Wolfsburg 3-1 in Germany. Liverpool are eliminated from the competition, finishing 3rd, after conceding a 1-0 lead and losing 2-1 at home to Fiorentina. Liverpool finished on 7 points and won just two games in the competition, both of which were 1-0 victories over Hungarian side Debrecen who finished the group without a single point. Both Lyon and Fiorentina scored 4 or more goals in both of their fixtures against Debrecen. The 2-1 defeat at home to Fiorentina also marked Alberto Aquilani's first start for Liverpool.

2nd/3rd January 2010 - Manchester United lose 1-0 at home to Leeds in the FA Cup 3rd round. Liverpool draw 1-1 away to Reading forcing them to play a replay.

13th January 2010 - Liverpool face Reading at Anfield in their FA Cup 3rd round replay. A 94th minute penalty sees Reading level the score at 1-1. Reading score a second early in extra-time and the game finishes 2-1 as Liverpool are eliminated from the FA Cup. This match marked Alberto Aquilani's first full game for Liverpool.

16th/18th February 2010 - Manchester United beat AC Milan 3-2 in Milan in their first Champions League knockout game. Liverpool beat Romanian side Unirea Urziceni 1-0 at Anfield in their first Europa League knockout game.

28th February 2010 - Manchester United beat Aston Villa 2-1 to win the League Cup.

10th/11th March 2010 - Manchester United beat AC Milan 4-0 at Old Trafford to progress to the Champions League quarter finals by an aggregate score of 7-2. Having beaten Unirea Urziceni in the first knockout round, Liverpool face Lille away in the first leg of their Europa League last 16 tie. They lose 1-0.

15th March 2010 - Alberto Aquilani plays his first full Premier League game for Liverpool as they beat Portsmouth.

21st March 2010 - In the 31st fixture of the season, Manchester United come from behind to beat Liverpool 2-1 in the Premier League. The teams' positions remain unchanged, as United stay in 1st and Liverpool in 6th. The gap between the teams is now 18 points.

3rd April 2010 - Manchester United lose 2-1 at home to Chelsea, falling behind them into 2nd place. Liverpool draw 1-1 with Birmingham City.

7th/8th April 2010 - Manchester United beat Bayern Munich 3-2 in their Champions League quarter final second leg, but are eliminated on away goals. Liverpool beat Benfica 4-1 in their Europa League quarter final second leg to progress through to the semi final.

22nd April 2010 - Liverpool lose 1-0 away to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final.

24th April 2010 - Alberto Aquilani plays his third full match for Liverpool in their 4-0 win over Burnley. This marks the final time he heard the whistle at kick off and full-time while on the pitch in a Liverpool shirt.

29th April 2010 - Liverpool face Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final. The game is taken to extra-time as Liverpool lead 1-0. The match finishes 2-1 to Liverpool, and they are eliminated on away goals courtesy of a goal by Diego Forlan. This match marks the final time Alberto Aquilani played 90 minutes for Liverpool, having been substituted for extra-time.

1st May 2010 - In their penultimate match of the season, Liverpool host league leaders Chelsea. Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard gifts Chelsea the lead as he plays the ball to Didier Drogba and puts him through on goal. Liverpool lose 2-0 and the 3 points for Chelsea is likely to be enough to win them the league.

9th May 2010
- In the final round of fixtures, Manchester United beat Stoke City 4-0 but it is not enough to win a fourth successive league title as they finish 2nd after Chelsea beat Wigan 8-0 to secure 1st by a single point. Liverpool draw 0-0 with Hull City and finish the season in 7th. The gap between United and Liverpool at the season's close is 22 points. This marks the first time that Liverpool have finished outside of the top 4 since Benitez's first season in 2004/05, and the first time they have failed to qualify for the Champions League since 2002/03.

3rd June 2010 - Rafael Benitez is sacked as Liverpool manager.

10th June 2010 - Rafael Benitez is hired as Inter Milan manager.

1st July 2010 - Roy Hodgson is hired as Liverpool manager.

5th August 2010 - Alberto Aquilani plays his final game for Liverpool in their 2-0 Europa League 3rd qualifying round second leg tie against Macedonian side Rabotnicki, having played fewer than five full games for the club.

5th February 2011 - Manchester United lose their first league game of the season after Wolves come from behind to beat them 2-1 at Molineux. This was only their second defeat of the season across all competitions at this point, the other being a loss to West Ham in the League Cup.

Well you're right there indoctrinating a child into the 'Liverpool way' is tantamount to child abuse.

3 stonewall penalties turned down. We woud of scored all 3, so INTELLIGENT fans know the true result was 4-2 and we are now 2nd. The PL is rigged against us.

So its true what they say about people with too much intelligence. They do go insane

Post-match talking points after losing against United:
  • Parked the bus
  • Won on corners
  • Penalties not given
  • Won on shots on target
  • They made my kid cry, it's child abuse
  • Better distribution of heat on the heat map
  • Player for player, only de Gea gets in the Liverpool side
  • Referee corrupt in general, possible FA/Premier League conspiracy
  • Losing but playing their way is always preferable to winning United way
  • United collapse is inevitable, Liverpool's glory days returning is inevitable
  • Mourinho bad for United despite the trophies, Klopp will ascend to heaven one day

It’s obvious some of you have accounts on there and are taking the piss

They've also spent close to 400m on their team. So let's be real here. They're winning second class trophies and don't look like they're building towards anything in particular. They should have had two penalties awarded against them and I think even if one of them was awarded, we actually would have won the game as Utd were creaking. All this Mou masterclass bullshit should be taken with a massive pinch of salt given what happened with the penalty decisions and the inept refereeing.
Being real means 400 million is nothing to them. I expect them to spend the same again without blinking. Second class trophies are miles better than zero trophies. For all the shite they serve up they are 2nd in the league 5 points ahead of us and still in the CL (for now) and FA Cup. Their fans went home saying they played a bit shit in the 2nd half but kept us out and Rashford battered the scousers in the first half while we went home blaming the ref after not troubling De Gea at all.

I would rather be where we are right now with a great manager improving the team year on year and playing decent football apart from the brain farts that keep letting us down but we look a bit sad slagging them off for the style they play as they are also improving their results year on year. They are 12 points and a lot of goals up on the similar fixtures to last year. We have only managed 6 points up on last year. Until we get ahead of them we are on dodgy ground calling Shitcoat out. Having said that hes a c*nt and his team are a shit set of mercenary bastards.
They have spent 400 million, so what? Have we got no right to win without matching their spending?
Trophies are trophies, be it first class or second class, just like FA cup victory gave the whole City squad a huge lift before their title win the following season.
Also, I don't think it was a tactical masterclass of any sort. But Mourinho knew exactly how to hurt us. Ashley Young of all people marking Salah out of the game. I am bitter, but give credits where its due. How long can we go on blaming the refs for every defeat. We did the same at Spurs. I agree the ref had a horrendous game, but still Mourinho did his bits to restrict us throughout the game. Even with all the possession we just didn't do enough.
Agree with all points. Come next season, City and United are going to continue their spending spree, while we would be penny pinching. Half way through next season we will go through the same cycle of posts we had this season and the last one, where we discuss the need of upgrading on certain players, while likes of Lovren, Henderson, Mignolet will still be playing for us.
They're improving, and so are we, but until they win the league and/or UCL, I will continue to believe that Shitcoat's style is not worth playing. Can you imagine watching that week in week out? I'd take 3rd or 4th with our brand of football over their 2nd all day - Really, there's no difference now that 4th don't need to play a qualifying round. In all honesty, we're a very even team in terms of quality and results - Barring one shit game against West Brom and 5 points (and the season isn't over yet). Mind you, if that 5 points in a few years means the difference between the league and 2nd place, then i'll change my mind. But until then, I'd take 100+ goals and the deadliest front 3 in Europe over our No.9 touching the ball 5 times a game.
We spent 75m on a centre back. That's hardly penny-pinching. Mignolet is already on the bench. Lovren isn't a bad player despite his mistakes. His big weaknesses are mental but there is no guarantee that he continues to keep his place in the first XI. Klavan might lose his spot and we might bring in another defender, who knows.

Ashley Young of all people marking Salah out of the game.
Arbeloa did that to Messi too. These things happen

I think even Jürgen didn't anticipate how nullifying their football can be - they play like an expensive Pulis Stoke with more firepower. Its extremely hard to beat even when you have the personnel - think only City have beaten them there?

We need an upgrade on Solanke and Ings too as we don't have any game changers on the bench to come on and replace one of the front 3.
We've lost to teams before who played like yesterday

Swansea for example. What they did was no better, didn't break us down with magnifenct play

Only difference is Swansea haven't spent half a billion quid so yesterday's win will somehow be better than Swanseas

I prefer Klopp's term of orientation. Our orientation for 2nd balls wasn't good.
We’ll have to supply them with compass’s

The amount of delusion in these posts is ridiculous. Starting to think they themselves know that they're very deluded but are going with the common narrative.

We were roundly vilified for giving Evra stick. Haven't seen any mention of the usual disgusting chants from those c*nts in the media. Wankers.
To be fair, those chants are normal for a small minority of every fanbase because there's a small minority of dickheads in every fanbase, it would probably be more newsworthy if they stopped. The Evra chants weren't normal and probably looked quite bad to non-Liverpool fans, even some of our fans didn't like them.
Have you ever been to OT? It's not a small minority
Not as upset as I have been with previous defeats by them. We clearly have better prospects for the future and have better players and manager.

To be fair they did nullify Salah's threat better than anyone has so far this season.

What we don't yet have is the killer 'winning' instinct or the luck / influence with referees which is so crucial.
Hendos exclusion has been bugging me. I know he’s not perfect and not beloved here, but he our most dynamic midfielder and our most capable of finding through balls. Why he played 90 on Tuesday I’ll never know.
Can’t play 3 games in a week
It's not like Klopp could have predicted Henderson getting a dead leg, though.

Its possible.

If certain alternative league tables are to be believed then they are currently on course to miss out on 4th by 3 points. This does rely on Chelsea beating both them and Spurs at Stamford Bridge though.

I find it comical how that lot moan about opposition tactics that park the bus or suffocate their supply line thus not allowing Klopp's only plan to work yet they didn't seem to mind that Benitez often did the same against other sides.
