I get the feeling this guy is about to destroy the Serie A this year if we don't buy him. Yes he's raw but you don't find that physical and movement profile together often in a young player. And he's not a complete donkey like Nunez was.

True but still not worth Nunez like money

£86m is a freaking ridiculous price. That's Kane's valuation.
Read a theory yesterday saying the club are putting/briefing those sorts of figures out (local Italian media not quoting anything near that price) as a means of delaying the deal a little as they don’t really have much cash at the moment.

If he is actually 80+ then yes he is, but I mean in comparison to the Italian reports that say they aren't valueing him at 80 and seem to be confused as to why people are reporting that

What do the Italians report say about his valuation?

I honestly think he will. People forget he's moved 3 clubs in like 3 transfer windows and now that he's settled in Atalanta, has 6 goals in 6 games for Denmark, he'll start to tear it up pretty soon

Do you think he's better prospect than Kolo-Muani

I believe that the valuation was more around 60mill euros or thereabouts with some potential addons

Thanks. I still feel that's a bit too much, really. €45m + addons seem fair to me. But we need a striker regardless, and he has massive potential so if that's what's required to get him then so be it.

I wouldn't say a better prospect... I think they are both good prospects but I think Hojlund is the type of profile we need more in a striker than Kolo Muani personally and I believe if you want to talk about the kind of forward ETH likes in his system, if you look at Ajax as an example, Hojlund fits that type more than Kolo Muani.

Not to say i wouldn't want Kolo Muani, but he's 4 years older than Hojlund too and it's everybit as possible that by the time Hojlund hits 24 he will be a better player than Kolo Muani is at the same age

Agree.

Almost feels like United are pushing the idea out there that he's too expensive for some reason
Could be some sort of delay tactic I guess, but still struggling to see what benefit that has.

Could live without getting Kane if we had the money to sign both but that's impossible, however do feel we should try and get this Taremi to support one of them

Think that’s exactly what they’re doing.
I wouldn't be surprised if they really really don't want to let go of the idea of a Kane/Osimhen type buy just yet, so putting this on ice a little they can be absolutely sure whether they can do a deal with someone of that type or not, what's being reported is probably games/noise to try and bait people out.

I don't think we'll have much joy though, especially without any reports of players being sold

Absolutely we should buy an older striker to play with someone like Hojlund or Kolo Muani if we get them... however we also have to consider the possibility that we really just cannot get Martial off the books this season, because who's going to want to buy him, and so we use him for another season might be what happens too

Maybe they're putting the feelers out for what they would pay for a top striker - ie Kane, but I agree I don't think it will bear much fruit if that is the plan.

Other option is Dembele on a free as older one

Delaying for what?

This tweet here explains why i would prefer Hojlund by the way, he tends to play more to the sides alot more as opposed to being a box threat like Hojlund is

Would that not encourage Atlanta to just push the price up? Us messing around and saying the price is way higher than it is? Surely a terrible tactic to stall for time? Pleading poverty would surely be more effective
Potentially, but that's what I mean why I'm finding it all a bit strange as I don't understand the angle.

Sounds like can be more of a wide forward

How would you lot compare this fellow ne Ferguson from Brighton as far talent / potential?

Pretty hard to say both early in their careers, Ferguson is only 18 but clearly has made an impression. Would take either one of them to be honest, but believe Hojlund to be more gettable for clubs within the next few years whereas I think Ferguson is better suited to staying at Brighton for another 2/3 years at least and I reckon he will probably see it that way too.

Just checked whoscored for his Serie A stats. His passing accuracy is 74% for.. incredible amount of... 13 passes per game.
Check Kanes passing stats from his loan spells at Norwich and Leicester. You’ll laugh. Now he’s the best playmaker striker in the world.

What is going on with the price thing. Italy media reporting about max of 60m euro even with add ons. But English media keep upping the price everyday from 40, 50, 60, 70, and now 80. They say Atalanta is asking 80m but then the media from te region saying on 60m top with add ons. Is United is that much hated in the UK that everyone trying to make United pay more and more.
Yep. We are.
