They've just signed his replacement in the last half hour, such a weird situation all around with these valuations

Outside of The Times, is anyone reporting 100 mil euros? That is first time I've seen that fee, I've seen 86mil euros to 60+mil pounds but not that.

This is playing out similar to Mount and Onana deals.

It'll be done. Not worried in the slightest.

We talk about Romano seeking out interactions and such, but Pedullà has taken this to the next level this summer:

Progress right as it's announced Atalanta have made a club record signing.

This is the one, there are no other targets right now. It's all on Hojlund.

Time to thread camp.

Me i've seen him in all games he played for our club (Sturm Graz), home games in stadium. He is a very physical player with a topspeed of 36km/h (thats even faster than Rashford). So in transit/counter he turns into beast mode, really awsome to watch that. And he is a teamplayer, doing much hard work on the pitch for the others ! I think that comes from him having almost same aged brothers, he was also highly liked by his teammates. Would agree if some call him raw still but from what i've seen from him in Bergamo (also watched some games live of them) he did make huge steps forward in technique/precision.

My personal top 5 under-20 strikers in Austria would be (in that order) :
  1. Erling Haaland (RB Salzburg, sold to BVB due to exit clause for just €20m)
  2. Rasmus Højlund (Sturm Graz, sold to Atalanta Bergamo for €17m plus addons)
  3. Sadio Mane (RB Salzburg, sold to Southampton for €23m)
  4. Emanuel Emegha (Sturm Graz, sold to RC Strasbourg for €12m plus addons)
  5. Benjamin Šeško (RB Salzburg, sold to RB Leipzig for €24m)
Dont get me wrong, Šeško is a good player but the others here are better imo. And its much easier to score for RB Salzburg (serial champion) as it is for Sturm Graz (vice champion since 2 years). In any way Austria has become a great breeding ground for young talent (not strikers only). Our (Sturm Graz) latest signing is 19yo scottish defender Max Johnston from FC Motherwell.

Sounds promising! Thank you for the info!

Has ETH talked about other transfers as "him" "he" before? It's like they know it's done but finalisation means ETH just can't use his name.

Really hope PSG don't inflate the fee for Hojlund of they get all this money for Mbappe.

Obviously Hojlund wants to join us but if we are bidding 55-60 million and PSG come in with 80 Atlanta will understandably tell him he can stay or go to PSG.

Hopefully us waiting on this transfer doesn't bite us in the ass as if argue striker was our biggest priority by far
We may miss out on Hojlund only to later go and get Harry Kane. That’s how it was last summer with Casemiro.

Rasmus Hojlund - a nordic power metal band. Sounds right to me

The meltdown when we find out it’s a female player.

Why so slow? Do we need to sell before we can buy? Is the asking price too high? The season starts in a few weeks and Martial is not in full training. But let us play Rashford or Sancho up front, or is the plan to use Höjlund as a bench option and hence the lack of urgency?

Thanks for the info, it sheds a lot of light on Højlund which to most sincerely speaking is a relatively unknown quantity.

Atalanta signing his replacement is a good sign, this will be done sooner than later.

About Kane, I think we will bid later in the market for him when Spurs will have no option other than sale. It all depends if he wants to stay at England. Winning trophies with us is more meaningful than winning an anual Bundesliga with Bayern, and he still can break Shearer’s record.

Its at that stage where we pretend to back out of a deal and then end up signing the player a week later.

Has the potential to be the next Rooney for Ten Hag.

Strong, built like a brick shithouse, pacey and a hard worker on and off the ball. His finishing will improve and he'll become an even better striker under Benni McCarthy.

At first glance, Rooney at 17 was a more gifted player than Hojlund at 20.

Obviously you don't mean signing both

For sure. That's why Fergie was willing to push the boat out for a teenager. World's most expensive teenager buy then. Not sure Hojlund is in that category.

Its good that the transfer team is being cautious. Besides, if we can squeeze Inter, a club that just got over £100m for being in the CL Finals, I am sure Atalanta is more desperate for $$

The only way this €100m figure makes sense is if it's a leak to make Murtough look good when he pays "only" €70m for him.
