He plays like he has input lag. Always looks like he's trying to do too many things at once and ends up doing nothing. He really really needs to improve because at this rate he'll be transfer listed before the season is over. Amorim won't take much more of this. He just looks like he's a level below Zirkzee in terms of actually understanding how to move the ball and interpret space. Can it be taught? I don't know.

He would not start over a fit Calvert-Lewin.
 
Extremely naive, defenders are currently toying with him unfortunately.

He must feel very dejected as he doesn't even have many small moments of success in open play to cling onto.
 
He's given up i feel.

When he joined he was making great runs and doing everything right, but Rashford, Garnacho and others had no interest in anything other than dribbling and shooting themselves, and certainly not in passing to Hojlund.

Now he's stopped the runs, the movement, everything that made him a promising youngster.
 
I hope whoever scouted him steps on Lego every night.

Literally a pub level player, he needs to feck off back to the danish league as that’s his level.

Problem is Zirkzee comes in and, apart from better hold up play, doesn’t really offer much either. And then we all want to see if Hojlund can play better because we’re annoyed at Zirkzee. It’s a wretched cycle at the moment.

He doesn't need a loan, he just needs to not be our first choice striker.
 
Given how apparently good at man management Amorim is, really baffling how Rasmus is going backwards.

Hard to work out what had happened to him, his regression is massive.
 
He's starting to look worse the more he plays. It's very worrying given our lack of options up top. He looked a-lot better last season.
 
Sorry defended him for a while here but you can only do so much of that. He is allergic to the ball, I feel sorry for him as I am sure there are teams out there looking for a striker who can run behind and be in the box. But we don't play to his strengths and I am starting to struggle to see any. Needs a loan.
 
He's in a really tragic place right now form wise, not Premier League quality or anywhere close really. Whatever he had when he arrived had all but disappeared. Even my kid nephew could point out what he was doing wrong during the game, it has nothing to do with lack of service he's just never in the right positions and cannot hold onto the ball to save his life.

The one at the start of the second half was ridiculous. Unopposed and simple ball ran under and away from him. Either he isn't concentrating it he's not got the ability.

Indeed, last season I really thought he had all the tools to make it at a very high level, this year it's all gone, shadow of a player. Maybe carrying some kind of knock?

He blew hot and cold last season. More cold than hot, if we’re honest. All that’s changed is the hot streaks have dried up. He’s young enough it could still change. Might be a completely different player in a year or two. Stranger things have happened. How do we give him the games he needs to develop though? A performance like today is so bad it’s basically sabotage.
 
That was depressing. A 1/10. And the 1 instead of 0 because he didn't score an own goal.

I have not lost all hope in him. I have seen him do good things. But he has to train better on aspects such as positioning.

Kind of a striker that is a backup for lower half teams and gets moved on because he just lacks basics needed for a striker. Cant hold the ball, cant stay on his feet, cant have a good first touch.

He was shite when he signed. He’s shite now. Is it their fault he hasn’t scored in 12 games for Denmark too?
 
Sometimes I genuinely think we only signed him because his name resembles Haaland's.

It's probably not the scouts who we should be blaming. They've been ignored and overruled more often than not over the last decade.

"No service" doesn't happen in a vacuum though. You have to make the right runs, position yourself well, and your teammates have to believe you'll be able to do something with the ball when you get it.
 
Not great and shouldn’t be our main striker but here we are. In any normal club, he’d be a back up at best and learning his trade. Either that or he’d get a couple of good loans under his belt and come back a better player. Crazy that we’ve found ourselves in this position.
 
Playing like Lukaku without the goals this season.
Definitely needs a loan but would need to be replaced, and I’m not sure if we’ll be able to afford a starting 9 and a backup.

Lukalu even now is twice the player Rasmus currently is, just on his experience and movement alone.
 
That was as bad a performance as I have seen from any United centre forward ever.

Ruben - take him out the firing line and don’t ever start him again until he’s regained some semblance of confidence.

Those are not things he’s good at though. Oddly enough, for a centre-forward - ‘getting shots off’ has always been a weakness of his. Another PL game with no shots, on or off target, blocked or otherwise. He’s managed 12 of any description all season in the PL.
 
I really hoped Amorim and the coaches would help him turn this season around, and it looked promising at first with the two braces in Europe. But right now he looks broken. Nothing comes off for him with the ball at all. And yet we continuously try to use him as a target man, which he very much isn't.

Our issue is we only have him and Zirkzee but none of them are up to it currently. Even if we got a new first choice striker in, we probably still need both of them for depth unless someone from the academy steps up.
 
This was the worst I've seen him. His hold up play... well, what can you say. Maybe we're asking him to play in a way he's not comfortable with? I don't know
We also created feck all for him.
 
He needs to get loaned out or sold. Its going from bad to worse each game. Trouble is our alternative is also shite.
 
Scott Mctominay would be a far better proposition for us as a striker,I never really understood all the negative posts slagging him off regularly on this forum.He used to run his bollocks of playing in several positions that did not suit him, yet he always gave everything just then type of player our new manager craves for, As a united fan who had the luck having seen the Law,Charlton,Best era and everything else after, seeing where we are now is unbelievable.I feel really sorry for the young reds who have only ever seen us in a this era.I honestly feel if we stick with this manager we will be ok,i but it will take time,Apologies for going of topic, but I am as frustrated as most of the rest of you are.
