Rashford out partying at nightclub hours before reporting as too ill to attend training

Fair play. I think he is pretty stupid and we have a few smaller instances to go by together with this one. Whether it was his mouthy celebration from scoring recently, or his poor punctuality before that, his decision to endorse Sancho at Dortmund or his latest decision to go to two night clubs before training before reporting 'ill'.

Yep and his decision making on the pitch has just been as bad.

Fairly certain I seen a picture of him snogging some doll too. Hard to make out but that's what it looked like.
Doesn’t surprise me. Is he on or off with his girlfriend at the moment? My client told me last summer about Rashford snogging his daughter in some club. Not sure if he was on or off then too.

The only thing that will make this worse is if he somehow managed to eat at Belfast McDonalds. He should only eat plain chicken if he wants to be like Ronaldo

I bet his PR team are busy right now. Just waiting for the press release to drop any moment.

If UTD were offered any reasonable offer (40 -50m), they should take it. It's obvious he IS part of the problem with his Sancho stance and off field antics. The quicker these frauds are moved on and replaced with players who have the character and understand the privilege of playing for UTD the better. In recent times only Maguire has shown any real desire (dropped but fighting to get his place back) to play for utd even though I do question his ability. Every one of the playing staff should be put on notice that the culture of the club is changing and if they don't align with this new culture that they will be gone even if they take the hit on transfer value. Fans also need to remember these frauds as they have been for the last few years so that if they move on and decide to actually play well for someone else they never had the character to play for UTD!! I am so sick of this squad with their "go again" mentality after the have stuck up the joint!!!

Some extreme reactions on here. Do we really think this doesn't happen up and down the country? They're not all going to be the utmost professionals, at all times, for every game. Stupid stuff will happen. We do it and so do footballers.

Sit him down, punish him, and then we move on.

You can't really compare it to Sancho because the issue there was ongoing, consistent, and most importantly what sealed his fate is he didn't show the humility to go to the manager and admit his errors. That failure to admit and take ownership of the situation is far worse going forward than failing to report to training for going on the lash. So let's just see how they deal with the situation.

I get what you are saying but...

He's paid millions of pounds a year to be a professional.

He's been stinking up the place most of the year.

It's just not acceptable unless he's been given time off of course! that was my first thought.

Plenty of people do it, plenty of people still show for work the next day.

He's an absolute melt otherwise.

Was he definitely out clubbing? The article I read said he was visiting a football clubs academy that a friend of his plays for. Was there maybe another article posted which showed him out clubbing as I haven't read the whole thread.

It's possible that the illness may not be related to him going out at all, especially if its not even known if he was drinking. I think the accusations makes a mountain out of a mole hill.

I'm no Rashford fan either. But I think this thread is making it into a bigger issue than it needs to be.

1st night bar...2nd night Thompsons club. Had taken over the top floor, videos show him drinking in the club on that floor. then another video shows him leaving the club down a stairwell and one of his mates/advisors telling the boy filming to "stop as you will get him in trouble" in a Manc accent.

Only confirms what we all already know.

At this specific moment in time Rashford has lost his way. I was naively putting it down to bad form and playing in a struggling team. However, it's clearly not just that....

Clearly unacceptable that one of our highest paid players (who at 26 isn't at the early mid-stage of his career) is so unprofessional that he's missing training because of hangovers. Is ever there was a case study of what's going wrong at this club...

Going to be 27 this year and should be in his prime, yet he's having ANOTHER dreadful season. He has a questionable attitude when you see him on the pitch, and that's enough to begin sounding out suitors.

The kind of thing that redcafe posters live for..... Until the inevitable backfire. Then onto the next underperformer/scapegoat!

Groundhog Day

I don't have a history of scapegoating, I just feel an example needs to be made to set the new standard and I think this is it, I'm not looking to gut half the squad or anything.

Giggs would never do this. He had more skillful ways to deal with the stress that comes with the job.

Rashford's amazing season continues.

But I'm sure it's all down to EtH asking them to follow instructions in training.

As long as a player isn't doing anything illegal, it doesn't matter what they do in their personal lives as long as they deliver on the pitch.

If Rashford had scored 20 goals so far this season, it wouldn't matter if he's partying all night.

The likes of Rooney, Keane, Giggs etc all got up to off the field shenanigans, but they delivered on the pitch. Rashford does nothing of the sort on the pitch and deserves all the pitchforks coming his way.

Im pretty sure Giggs delivered on and off the pitch

Ryan that is.

There is a chance he wasn't drinking?

It doesn't matter if had drinks, does it? He had to show up at 8 am, after pulling an all-nighter, ready to do some activities that involved running. He came in from Belfast directly into Carrington. It does affect your training, the fact you haven't slept properly. On the other hand, you have players who sleep well, measure their quality of sleep, wear blue light glasses, eat right, and use every trick in the book to get that extra edge in the competitive sport. Our star boy is doing the exact opposite. I'm not sure if he is going thru some life phase or something, but the new board will have a hot potato on their hand, which I believe will set the tone for the future. Keeping him and Sancho will be a sign of week structure.

On a more serious note Rooney's off the pitch binge drinking effected his performances when he was captain under LVG. Its hard not to sympathise to some extent, when you are in the the prime of your life and need to let off some steam and relax once in a while despite how big your salary is.

Thing is by the time Rooney declined he had already built a better career than 99% of footballers who ever played in the PL. Of course, it would have been great if he could have carried on but at least he had something to fall back on in terms of career achievements.

Compared to that, what has Rashford done so far?

He's delivered meals to children. Doesn't do much for his career as a footballer though.

Well I think the more info we have the better. There are definitely degrees of transgressions.

I don't care if Rasford parties hard, but not that hard to the point that you skip training. So feck him

looking forward to defences like "Come on Rashy is a young man in the end, a young man is supposed to have fun, and we are not robots...." blah blah blah

Again I'm talking about his on field career mate.

These guys are footballers, and I judge them by what they do on the pitch. The good or bad they do off the pitch ( as long as it isn't illegal) isn't really my concern. Great that Rashford's done his charity work and fair play to him, but he's more often than not disappointed as a footballer, and as a Utd fan that's what I care more about.

feck him off. Unprofessional far too often.

See how much we can get for him this week or in the summer.

Garnacho can have the left wing starting position and we can reuse the funds on another winger. This guy doesn't want to be here so move him on. Plenty of footballers would want his position in our squad going forwards.
Shame we didn’t sell him last summer before everyone realised he was cack.

He was in a nightclub, I think it's fair to assume he was drinking.
I don’t know how old you are, but that strikes me as pretty out of touch with a reasonable proportion of people living in the UK who are in clubs and bars today. Lots of younger people don’t drink, even when socialising with friends.

Does anybody know if he had a decent night out?
Imagine him thinking to himself right now "it was worth it!" .... I hope he had a night for the ages as he's fully lost redcafe and I don't know who else!

I wonder how long until the press leaks about ETH start up to distract from this. We should have sold Rashford years ago. He is never going to be a top player and his attitude is terrible.

You never can tell in here.... As you were then!

I doubt he was in charge of what fees and wages were paid. We've been awful at that for a decade.
He was not in charge, he was certainly aware and in agreement or could have vetoed any of those. Especially Rashford new contract, not to mention that nobody was going to obsess on Antony and Onana without him insisting he wanted those
