Part of the reason I want to see him play under a manager who gives precise instructions in every face of play, something he only got for a few month under LVG, plus also one who will demand a high level of fitness.
Next season is definitely sink or swim for him.

I agree. Someone like Ten Hag should give him one last chance to learn and practice something like Pep's 3 P's - Positioning, Possesion and Pressure.

Right now for me I'm not seeing anyone exactly playing within a team tactic - hopefully Ten Hag changes that and then we can see if Rashford is good enough or not.

Ideally you'd give him another season to turn it around without the likes of Lingard around him, but if he carried on the same then no one would buy him for more than what we'd owe him on his contract. For that reason I think we've got to sell him if we get an acceptable offer this summer, it's a big if though.

Problem is you also need to sell Martial (or just loan him out), Cavani and Ronaldo leaving as too old, injured, don't want to play in europa etc, Greenwood "unavailable" so very few options for front 3 positions, just Elanga and Sancho really.

Think Rashford stays by default but he's certainly on notice period now if he can't do anything under Ten Haag.

My new theory is he's really disliked the way Lingard has been treated over last 12 months by the hierarchy so is probably thinking why both as same will probably happen to him eventually.

He isnt that good even at his best. We have to decide whether we want the media circus that comes with him. His bad form is literally everyone’s fault but his according to media. And his camp leaks are annoying.

Just a stupid, stupid player.

It's like if you put the brain of a 12 year old who plays Fifa for 8 hours a day into the body of a supreme athlete.

Lingard got a load of flack for choosing fame away from the pitch while being poor on it. I would have thought Rashford might have learned that lesson but he has gone down a similar path choosing to be an influencer on social media. Beanz brothers indeed

I honestly don't think selling is an option this summer

who would risk it in current form? he's been shit or injured for over a year

it looks like injuries have taken their toll

Only idiots buy high and sell low. Keep and hope he finds some form /thread

Yeah I think you're right, Martial is ideally out on loan now till his contract ends so with the other three leaving (Greenwood, Ronaldo, Cavani) we couldn't accept a good offer for Rashford even if one came in, and even if it's our best chance to sell him for a reasonable fee. We've still got to sign two strikers in the summer which is easier said than done.

Sulking with his mate Lingard

Been crap for 2 years now get rid

Took long enough but most of the fanbase has finally arrived the right conclusion. The 'football people' at United better not be thinking of extending this overrated primadonna's contract.

I'd sell in a heartbeat. I think there would still be a club daft enough to offer £50m+ for him and that would be an amazing deal for us. If we could spend that money wisely then it's a no brainer.

Newcastle would want him for sure if he became available.

Dosen't Poch love him or something as seems there's links to PSG every year although could just be planted stories to get him a new deal.

why for sure?

what is it about Newcastle that makes this a formality? he's utter shit

Big name player (more off the field) that's recognisable around world to market the club a bit more. At that level he could make more of an impact getting them up the league table than the carcass of Man. United currently.

I mean it's possible, sure. But given he's been crap for well over a year and on massive wages I would say by far the most likely scenario is they don't want him.

That’s a big worry.
The ridiculous contracts and stupidly high wages they’ve handed out in recent years, indicates how detached from reality the people in charge of contracts are.
It shows they’ve learnt nothing, if the reports of still trying to throw bucketloads of money at Pogba, to induce him to sign another deal, are to be believed.
If 99% of the fan base wanted Rashford to go and he was loudly booed at every home game, you just know the executive management would still regard him as a popular fan favourite and a great asset to the team.

Why do people keep suggesting Newcastle, Rashford is never going to go to Newcastle.

He's still getting linked with decent clubs in the press. Perhaps tenuous but Arsenal were rumoured a few weeks ago so if CL clubs like him still I'd say Newcastle would be more than interested and have the money to get him.

He's rubbish currently but managers will always convince themselves they can be the ones to coax good form again just as Lampard concluded Dele Alli would be perfect for a relegation battle after two years of poor form.

Sell him ASAP before anyone who is interested pull out of it. Knowing the clowns at United they will probably give him an increase salary and make him a club ambassador too.

I think the management team at Newcastle are smarter than that. That's a career ending move for a DOF !!

I hope the reports are true that he's on the sell list. Like I said recently, he epitomises everything that's wrong and has gone wrong at United. The club made him a superstar without any reason. We're just so dripping with desperation that we went so far overboard in treating him like a legend when, actually, he's done feck all for the club and looks like he cares less than anyone. Local lad? What good is that when you think you're some icon and jog around the pitch.

If he gets a new contract then nothing has changed at this club and nothing will ever change probably.

If we get a good bid, sell him. Else keep him and see if his form improves. If it doesn't let him go on a free or for a cheap fee.

You don't 'hope' with a £250K a week contract (£52million in wages), and potentially £50+million on a sale.
We are not getting 50+ for him right now. If he scores 15ish goals next year though then we could. He can’t just have lost everything in a year. I never rated him as highly as others but he is nowhere near as bad as he’s been.

Not a chance Newcastle will want Rashford, they'll be on the hunt for bigger fish this summer. Rashford's current form is relegation fodder level so it would be a safer bet to flog him to a newly promoted club, or Everton.

Why are the only two options new contract or sell? How about we just keep him and see how he does under ETH?

It says sell before his contract expires, it expires on 2023 with an extra year option. So hopefully we'll do as you say, give him a chance under Ten Hag and if he doesn't massively improves then sell him or let him go for free next year.

Having a bunch of overpaid underperformers is drowning us, we have the best paid squad on the league and a top 3 on the world and we're shit. No more patience for the players, we need to set a culture whether you either perform or you're gone.

I think he's actually peaked early and burned out.

He's number could get better, but he was more than just a goal scorer, he was our number one go to guy in big games, check his performance against the current top three.
Plus he was one of the hardest workers and most intense runners on the pitch.
This season especially has been frustrating but remember he started this season on the treatment table after that back injury not so long ago, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.
Last season he has half season of shite form being blamed on his injury, and this season after the treatment of his injury, the entire season of shite form is being blamed on that again?

I don't buy it.

Its like saying Pogba has COVID over a year ago, which affects his form till today.

I agree, he used to be one of the most hardworking individual in the squad.
He's young enough to turn it around and a good preseason under a new manager could be just what he needs.

This idea that a pre-season can get a player or even a whole team working differently is something I don't believe in.
Pre-season basically allows a team to start game 1 of the season, in full flow. If a team has now pre-season (like last season we had no pre-season but still finished 2nd), then we basically have a team/player who will be poor for about 3-4 games. After that, the fitness/sharpness will have caught up and there can be no excuses about a lack of pre-season.

I think he's actually peaked early and burned out.

That's what I think.
He did a lot of work for school dinners for kids. During that time his form dipped and he just didn't recover. Perhaps his mind got turned and he just can't get back in the game. It happens.

Absolute fraud. He's done everything and more over the last 5 months that Martial has been accused of in his whole time at United.

Get him gone.
