Rashford is Unhappy according to Pilip de Brun & The Times

"Who is Pilib?"

For anybody complaining that Jose is not playing him in his favored position of striker, that's hardly unusual. If you can remember SAF played Fletcher on the wing all the time in the beginning. Jones as right back etc...

While I would like to see him get more game time upfront, I don't think he has deserved it a whole lot this season. He has time in his side anyway.

Rashford can only improve playing and training with Ibra. Even playing on the flank can improve his general game and how to dribble past opponents and effectively cross or cut inside. He's still young and has potential to be a great but he needs patience and has still a lot to learn.

However I still think Mou should try using two strikers. A strong technical Ibra als the targetman and Rashford floating around him and getting in behind the defenders. This could be so deadly imo

Martial is happy again so now it's Rashford's turn to be unhappy again.
Exactly. The media create rubbish, unsourced clickbait for revenue purposes and we lap it up like sheep.

Truly pathetic non-story, and every piece of actual evidence (Mou quotes on Rashford, Rashford quotes on Ibra, gametime, contracts, etc...) point to this story being a load of unsubstantiated rubbish.

What a lot of bollocks, there were stories the same day this came out (yesterday?) denying it.

They didn't get what they wanted with Mata, Mhiki or Martial, now they are moving on to Rashford.

The press are a bunch of total and utter cnuts.

He is barely 19 and he got more than enough chances . Hope the hype doesn't get to his own head.

Rooney, Ibra , Mata will be on their way out soon and he will get his chance .

Note : The media is just circulating something ! I refuse to believe any of this

I think if anything, Mata's place in the squad / team is far more certain than the other two - would be very surprised to see Mata leave in the next few years.

Philip De Brun: Hey!! Do you see Rashford in training
Source: Ya!!
PDB: How is he looking?
Source: He looks upset about something
PDB: Thanks mate!!

Goes on to let the world know that Rashford is upset with lack of game time

Meanwhile, Rashford in training: I need to go to the loo. Bad breakfast!!!

That's not how it works with De Brun.

He literally doesn't have any sources at any clubs. He makes stuff up as he goes along. I know this for a fact. He's seen as a joke in media circles. He's actually not worth discussing.

What a great opportunity to bash Zlatan and Mourinho some more. It just makes so much sense for Rashford to be unhappy, who Mourinho has much preferred over our best winger last season.

If I was a player I would go out of my way to quash these ridiculous articles, but that's me personally.

I can imagine it gets tedious for players constantly hearing rubbish about them in the media. Rashford is an unusual target but it shows the press will stop at no border to generate controversy.

1 explicit tweet would go a long way though...

Isn't Pilip de Brun The dickhead who gets almost every transfer rumour wrong?
He's another loser looking for the spotlight

Think it was the Times that ran with this at first and it seemed ridiculous but Pilip de Brun says he's checked the sources and that it is true. Rashford is unhappy at his playing time this season, presumably not the total minutes per se but also the position those minutes have been spent at, and has been voicing this behind Jose's back and this has pissed off Jose. This opens up the distinct possibility that one of Rashford and Martial will be sold (either by their wanting out or Jose wanting rid).

When Zlatan was bought mine and many others concerns with it was the effect it would have on Martial and Rashford. It has become more and more obvious that instead of it having a positive effect through mentoring of them, it has in fact affected them negatively in performance and confidence and happiness. Signing Griezmann will doubtless only exacerbate this. The answer in the Summer to these worries was that Zlatan at his age won't play every game and will be rotated with them. But what we have seen is that Zlatan plays pretty much every game and doesn't get substituted, and that the two kids rotate with each other instead despite both aspiring to be #9s. One might say that this situation was preventable with more rotation of the front spot all season.

That part of what Marcus is unhappy about is that Jose doesn't give so many opportunities to youth (and yet does to 35 year olds), be that in practice or just in reputation, also confirms another concern many had about Jose and how young players would feel about him. So far we have seen Jose adapt his style of football to the United Way but if he doesn't adapt to our Youth tradition to the satisfaction of our young players we may see the likes of Martial, Rashford, Shaw and Academy kids like Pereira looking for better opportunities to play and develop elsewhere. And that would be a real shame.

Obviously hope that Jose can find a balance of rotation for the rest of the season that keeps players happy and doesn't lead him to losing the younger side of the dressing room.

I can't really tell which parts of this are your opinion and which parts are borrowed from the very obviously nonsense article. You've presented it all as if it's some kind of proven fact yet it's pretty much either opinion or demonstrable nonsense from start to finish

It's annoying how much some people are pining to find examples of players being unhappy or supposedly unfairly treated by Mourinho. If he was coming out and picking on the same player every week or was never selecting someone regardless of performance, fair enough, but he seems to just pick the players who play the best, which seems a pretty logical thing to do. Zlatan had a spell when he could have been dropped but no one else has exactly set things alight when they've played up front, and now Zlatan is playing pretty well, and also scores a lot.

Also anyone who knows who Pilip de Brun is enough to know whether he has any credibility at all, knows that he doesn't have any credibility at all...so why include his name as if it gives some kind of credence to something?

Journalist thought process:

I have a deadline to meet for an article about a top club.....

Hmm... Mhikitaryan is now playing. Martial also seems to be getting on the good side of Jose.....

Let's see... which player can we make shit up about just to stir the pot.... Mourinho, youth, something something... Rashford!

He's playing a lot of football for his age, despite the fact he's not scoring or assisting consistently. I wouldn't be complaining if I were him. Similarly aged players like Fosu Mensah and Shaw has hardly even seen the bench, even he's probably got even more game time than Martial.

Would you mind revealing how you know this for a fact? Then we can see if he should actually be on the banned list. Its this guy claiming Shaw is depressed too. His claims are now getting picked up even by some red tops. I will stop watching his Beyond The Pitch show now.

Not the most reputable source. The state of Sports Journalism absolutely appalling.

MEN:

Now Luckhurst can be a bit of a dick but somehow I tend to trust this more than whatever rubbish that "article" is based on.

Hadn't seen those quotes from Mou re Rashford before. They're spot on and very encouraging. Exactly what you'd hope he is saying to/thinking about a kid having a tricky second season. So this thread hasn't been a complete disaster after all...

To be fair they are direct quotes from the official Mourinho embargoed press conference last week.I don't think Luckhurst had to work too hard for that. Judging by what Mourihino says regarding Rashford ,these latest reports sounds like bullshit.

The media can't claim Martial is unhappy any more for clicks, so they move onto Rashford. Nothing to see here IMO.

Who said Luckhurst had to work hard for that?

I don't understand articles like this, it feels like they're trying to unsettle our players/Jose. Rashford is getting a lot of playing time and he's progressing as a player under the guidance of Zlatan and Mourinho. He looks sharp/focused and the emotions that go with that when he does well or under-performs are visible but he is improving and establishing himself as a future starter. I think he should be delighted with this season so far but there's still room for improvement with his finishing.

I only remember this name from the Pogba transfer saga, and like most journos, he didn't have a clue what the feck he was talking about.

10 starts this season in the League. And how many of them as a #9, his actual position?
I don't see there's any problem to play as no#9 or as supporting striker which even better to develop young player overall game.Have we forgotten how C.Ronaldo develop his game and where his natural position? There's so many great goal scorer like Henry,Messi,neymar,C.Ronaldo,A.Sanchez that proving they are on par with natural no9 and some of them even better than a no9 in goal scoring ability.

I don't think it's that they're trying to do. Manchester United + talented young homegrown player + drama = Clicks = £

Rashford is a highly rated local lad with loads of talent and, it seems, the right attitude, so chances are this is clickbait BS

That said, players with the right attitude who understand what it means to play for this club is what we need. Anyone who feels unhappy or that they could do better elsewhere should just feck off already.

Okay.

Well, first all, I haven't mentioned this fact in here because I don't want eyes rolling and people thinking that I think I am an 'ITK' because of it. So let me get this out of the way early doors. I am not ITK and I don't pretend to be.

I've been a football journalist for over 12-years. I work for national newspaper titles. One predominantly and a couple more on a freelance basis. I work on Premier League reporting and really enjoy it. It's not what it used to be, it's getting a bit more tedious and boring now...but I still like what I do. Newspaper journalism's become less interesting and less important because all football clubs keep their distance from media of all sorts these days for reasons I will mention a little later in this post and I am also having to write pretty meaningless pieces for online content, such as Top 10 this or that and Combined X1 nonsense. I'm not a really moral person so I don't in any way think 'my art is at stake'. I've got a good job and I like what I do, so I'm continuing to do it, even though it is a profession well under attack due to a reason mentioned below. But I do want to stress I am not a preacher of 'ITK' material nor never will be on these forums. I have been a Manchester United fan from birth, through family and I consider that one hell of a fecking blessing.

Anyway, take it from me, someone who knows all of the national reporters well (at least I know how they operate) in the UK that Pilib De Brun is absolutely 100% nailed on to be known as an absolute spoofer. There is no such thing as an 'in the know' journalist such as De Brun for loads of different reasons but let me give you the one main reason why national newspaper journalists such as even your top dogs that appear on Sunday Supplement don't know much any more, let alone Philip De bloody Brun. Years and years ago, football clubs needed 'media' (newspapers mostly) to inform their fans of any information they wanted to know. That's what the word 'media' means - medium, it's the middle man, the bridge between business (the club) and the customer (the fan). So if a club wanted to release information they'd ring up their favourite journalists or maybe send out press releases to the newspapers to try to get their information across to their fans. These days, clubs no longer need the media (they no longer need a middle man). If a football club like Manchester United wants to reach their fans with information, they do so in a multitude of new-age ways. A Tweet is the new press release. Nobody needs to call Shaun Custis about anything anymore. Years ago - even maybe 12-15 years ago - journalists used to have a rollerdex of phone numbers of professional footballers. That shit don't happen anymore. Footballers, coaches, high-echelon positions at clubs, nobody needs a journalist anymore. I mean, it happens in some ways, agents like to use journalists, not for any exclusive chats or anything, just to get a spin on a story out there - such as 'A club are looking at my player'..just because that agent is currently in negotiations with the current club over a new deal - that shit happens and we know it happens and we know when it is and isn''t bullshit). But nobody uses journalists to offer 'inside information'. It. Just. Does. Not. Happen. Anymore. Guaranteed. It's a dying form of media and it is very critically dying, too. Newspaper sales are at a massive low and are getting worse by the day. There is little or no value in newspaper journalism. Being a newspaper journalist does not mean you are ahead of the game in any respect whatsoever. The only reason I believe I may be a little ahead of the average fan on the street is that I know which journalists are talking shit and which ones can be trusted with certain bits of information. But when it comes to having 'inside information' - I have zero REAL inside information or sources and neither do the 'top dogs' of football journalism. It's well-known and talked about much among journalists on a regular basis....we just don't have any inside sources. Football doesn't operate that way anymore.

De Brun is nowhere near considered to know anything about anything. Genuinely. He's a laughing stock among reporters.
