Rashford is Unhappy according to Pilip de Brun & The Times

So he was a spin doctor with a pro Mourinho agenda who you couldnt take seriously at Chelsea, but at United he's a credible rumour slayer who should be listened to? He's still full of shit. Only now he's full of shit when it comes ot United related matters and not Chelsea.
Yes he's still likely full of shit. However, not worth banning due to having a direct line to the Mourinho/Mendes camp. I don't see why this is so hard to understand

Where did I say it was hard to understand? My initial point was regarding his credibility, which is still the same as it was 2 years ago. Duncan Castles coming out and saying "Rashford is happy as Larry" means as much as Phil Whatshisface, since they are both fed of an agenda ridden source.

I find this incredibly difficult to believe. Rashford is living the dream and is lucky to have played as many games as he has. If he is indeed unhappy then he can feck off. But in reality I expect he's far from unhappy.

This isn't tricky, lads. Someone spoke to Matt Hughes at the Times. They may or may not have some sort of relationship to Rashford. He would generally have to get a second source to stand up the story before he'd print it, so someone else probably corroborated it. None of which tells us much about the story being true or otherwise. It just says there are possibly two people who want that story out there, for whatever reason(s).

Pilib de Bruin, I assume, upon hearing the story, went off and spoke to someone, who told him roughly the same story. He has plenty of media contacts. He may have spoken to one of them who gave him the nod that they'd heard the same. He, given that he doesn't operate under the same sorts of guidelines as the Times, can publish immediately. He may even have spoken to one of Matt Hughes' initial sources. Or, it could be a different person altogether. Either way, the story now has a couple of public sources ie Matt Hughes and de Bruin.

As for Mr. Mujac and jb talking to people around Rashford, that certainly makes me think the story didn't come from him. He wouldn't be the first footballer to have a story like that put around about him, by someone known to him, who subsequently backed away from it, though (albeit I don't think that's what happened here). It doesn't mean that Matt Hughes and Dr Bruin didn't hear it from someone they trust, though, which makes it fair game to report.

Or sometimes, footballers have both agent and representative. Two might be singing different tunes.

I think looking a player's body language in an interview, on the pitch, on the bench etc. is a far better indicator of their happiness than what any of these journalists claim it is. The good ones twist quotes within an inch of their life to suit their agendas and the bad ones don't bother with quotes at all. They all sensationalise and look for controversy wherever possible which will after all prompt the most discussion and sell the most papers.

It's one thing to write a controversial opinion piece if it's backed up with some sort of evidence etc. but the way these papers present often pure speculation as fact is disgraceful, I sometimes wonder how they can get away with it. And no, I don't class 'Sources say' as evidence.

Best to ignore the lot.

Bullshit, if there is one person im sure loves it at United its him.

Hes not ready to lead the line like Big Z. I can also promise you guys that he loves to play for United even if its at the wing. If Zlatan gets injured then he gets hes striker role. Hes in hes second season where things usally gets harder. Zlatan has taken alot of the pressure of him.

No way Rashford is unhappy.

Spot on. He is getting valuable game time without the same pressure. In any case he is not ready to lead the line by himself all the time.

Seriously the sources used to start threads on here is ridiculous. Not even worth discussing.

It was a Times article. If that isn't good enough, nothing is. Times journo just happened to be wrong.

Soon a periscope stream/ episode will be out where a bunch of us will pay attention to the fella's annoying voice where he will repeatedly whine about how people should cut him some slack as he has reliable connections even though his info might not be true.

People were happy enough to use these guys tweets last night on the 'transfer tweet' thread, he clearly has contacts, and as with most who do he gets some right, and some wrong.

Same for all journalists then?

Cheers.
Thanks for the update.
Poor from the Times.
This. Its sad when even the Times just make stuff up. I could forgive it if it was just them being misled by the agent feeding them info to help get a better contract but this reduces the Times to the level of the Star now.

Sad.

What a load of crap. Rashford has rightly lost his place in the starting XI this season but has shown he has something to offer now and in the future. If he gets his head down and works on his game there's nothing to stop him developing well at United.

I think the whole argument about takign the pressure off Rashford is stupid. If you are a great player or want to be a great player you should want to thrive on that pressure and be the one to make a difference.

If he needs someone to take the pressure off then he's just going to be a squad option in the future. If he doesn't nail down a spot with more game time next season he should leave, because if he's unhappy then i would think he is confident in his abilities. Pogba wouldn't have became Pogba if he had stayed.

Spoke to his agent at the Blackburn Academy game this morning...who I have known for some years.

He told me that he has no idea where the newspapers get their stories from and Marcus is really happy with everything right now.

So basically...no story.
Fake news. Seriously, the plebbish clown De Brun who wrote this pathetic story should be blacklisted from this site.

It's not the first time our players have been subjects of fake news this season. Anthony Martial had to state on Twitter not to believe the press. Absolutely pathetic from the media.

In a season and a half Rashford at 19 years old is set to make his 50th appearance for us today, how many 19 year olds anywhere in the world can say that ?

Rashford has come out and publicly praised Zlatan for being a mentor to him and it's highly unlikely Rashford believed for a second he'd be starting as our main striker over Zlatan, he's very happy as he's playing regularly for his boyhood idols and already won am FA Cup with the possibility of more this season.
