Rashford considering his future...

Our club is a sad place. Is this a coincidence or evidence for a broader malaise? One of our moist promising young players just ended his career by perpetrating one of the most heinous crimes possible in a civilised society.

The other one who established himself has lost all vestige self-awareness, control, and humility and has added on a healthy dose of entitlement. The others simply have lost their hunger or desire.

What are we feeding them at Carrington?

I know all people can need a getaway. Being a footballer comes with its own pressures but timing and wording is important. Having a team of idvisiors that can read the mood and don’t put out things that turn people against is important.
Doesn't has the mental strength to cut it at the top level, no wonder he and a few others crumble when the stakes are high and the pressure dialed up.

Fergie always looked at the players character aswell not just the footballing side.

You’re right but as pointed out by @RedDevil@84 there’s something not right with him recently either emotionally or mentally. Stuff like “ gone away to clear his head “ is a disgrace and his advisers need to get changed or if it’s false the journo needs firing. It’s just going to drive more abuse at a person who is struggling with something.

Hard to believe in his side of the story and take his apology seriously when he is so blatantly and shamelessly lying about the incident.

I didn’t show the middle finger he says in the letter. Does he not think the video is out there and anybody can see it ? Does he not think people can see him giving the fans the finger ? Why lie ? It would be better if he just admits that he snapped and regrets doing the gesture. But no, let me blatantly lie about it because to make people believe my story and feel for me, I can’t be seen as a cocky person who is giving his middle finger to the fans.

Ole: stop moaning !
Rashford : feck off (while giving the middle finger)

Next: Rashford leaks stuff to media about his shyness and how Ole did not give enough guidance.

He is easily the player I dislike most from our current lot. Says a lot when he has a few contenders on their own (Maguire, Wan Bissaka). Two-faced lazy snitch . So much for feeding the kids while giving middle finger to them

Entitlement and money

Its really fecked though. First we have Jose who is an autorative figure, players did not like that and threw him under the bus. Then comes Ole who is more of a "im your mate" kind of manager and it worked for a while, but eventually collapsed. Dont really know what kind of type Ralf is, but its clearly not working either. Half the squad seems like they cant be arsed

If its really a case if rotten attitudes in the dressing room then changing managers wont work. The mutineers needs to be fecked off

I'm already expecting the next manager to fail. Unless we start selling some of these spoilt players, it will be beyond any manager to get something out of these players.

I've been saying that for a while. Haven't you read the leaks from lvg's time ?

Some of our players are uncoachable and yet our fans will continue to throw manager after manager under the bus.
It's the job of manager to get the bad apples out of the club. Failing to do that is all on the manager

I’m sure Rashford and other players are getting actual abuse on social media. And unfortunately, that seems to be a big problem.

But cmon, what that fan said is not abuse. Wtf is wrong with people these days? Surely you can’t be that entitled in life to think that is abuse.

Wow

Rashford, a player from our academy and one of our own has a terrible year going back to the Euros.

these modern footballers monetize their image using social media but obviously it opens them up to huge amounts of abuse, many of it rascist.

Its Rashfords job to work hard to be the best player he can and theres no evidence to say he isnt. Our Manager who is straight talking has said he's training really well and is just not taking it onto the pitch.

Is this how we 'support' our players when they are up against it? I could understand fan frustration if he was refusing to play but this is just a player devoid of confidence and making poor decisions all over the pitch

to read some of the comments in here though i am embarrassed for a lot of you. In 14 years as a RedCafe member this is a low point in terms of quality of poster.

A real sense of entitlement amongst many in terms of "Ill give abuse if i want to".

Have a word with yourselves

The way his social media and PR is handled these days really isn’t doing the lad any favours what’s so over. Combine it with his on the field antics it’s a disaster. But bloody hell the vile toxic crap thrown at him on here is something. Love how so many on here want to slag off Twitter yet look at the state of some of these posts.

Where's the abuse?

There's always the occasional hyperbolic post made in player performance thread that alludes to abuse of the player, but I can never actually see where this so-called abuse is.

If being critical of a players performance and attitude within a professional context is now classed as abuse then the human race really is in trouble.

This. What Beckham experienced back then was real abuse. Rashford is mostly called out for his shite and lazy performance. We dont see people hanging and burning his effigy on the streets.

If you had read the posts, most people had no problems with Rashford giving it back if he was abused but it was more of him and his PR team saying something he did not do but which in fact he did (it was all captured on camera when he flicked out the finger). Man up if he did it and not deny. He has a major character problem, on the pitch issues aside

To be fair, Beckham was mainly subjected to abuse at the away grounds after the 1998 World Cup but we United fans supported him throughout. and he felt the love and support and got through it. Rashford was more of a case from our own fans but yeah i see your point too. Rashford’s case was nowhere near Beckham

I get the point that it’s coming of as just image protecting. Would come off as more authentic and more relatable to fans if it was just “I was angry because we lost and snapped, I shouldn’t have reacted like that “

I think my head is gonna explode reading all these posts that mention the so called “Abuse”. Where is the abuse in the video ?

“Come on Rashford, after that performance”

Where is the fecking Abuse ? For the love of humanity would somebody point the Abuse to me ?

Fans waiting for the players for their autographs in bitter cold for hours even after a dismal performance by the whole team. Many players came out and stopped for autographs and pics with kids and families. Rashford didn’t and just walked past them, At that point one fan said “Come on Rashford, after that performance”, to me which means come on Rashy, you can do better, Ain’t you gonna stop even for a pic with kids, this is the least you could do.

So for my own sanity let me ask again one more time, where is the God damn Abuse ?

Because I think i am missing something and if that’s an abuse then i feel like I have been abused all my life by everyone including my loved ones everytime I made a mistake or disappointed them as they have been behaving the same way that fan behaved. Maybe I’m wrong and if that fan’s behaviour is unacceptable and deserving of Rashford’s reaction then let me give middle finger to everyone around me including my parents then write an apology letter and blatantly lie to them about giving them the finger. Not to mention telling them to come around and say that to my face you cnuts.

I disagree in the same way Ronadlo who is still a way better player than Rashford isn’t either. The fact is if you are a big teams main attacking focal point you’ll nearly always hit decent stats because we spend 5 times more than half the teams we face. The crux of the matter is that if a team that expects to win stuff sets up to maximise one player in particular that player better be amazing or the team is going nowhere. In Rashfords case it’s nearly always been a case of the stats being much brighter than the reality. His work rate and body language has been horrible for years but people were determined to build him up into something he never really was
He was 21 when the 2019/2020 season began. His "horrible" work rate and body language had him as a top 5 attacker for not one but two whole seasons preceding that. Remember when he scored on his return? I was very ware very of this stat and it just seemed like here he goes again, even half fit he'll bang them in. I guess time will tell on whether he just a purple patch.

have a look at their social media accounts.

How many times a week does he get called a monkey or other racist terms?

for better or worse these players engage with social media. Its easy for any of us to expect him to brush it off but given the awful year he's had he's faced this 24/7

He reacted badly outside the stadium to comments that shouldnt have been made - I think the reaction is more about the big picture of abuse rather than what the fans outside shouted. That response hasnt been in Rashfords personality previously had it and he's a human being.

its Rashfords and our coaching teams job to analyse and critique his performance

Call me old fashioned but supporters should support

its all well and good venting on here but to stay behind after a game to berate players is parhetic on my book. Do these people think its going to result in improved performances.

Is this how we treat one of our own?

Beckham also didnt have to contend with wall to wall, no escape from abuse social media either.

Have to agree with this. Half of the posts in this thread since that video read like they're from some parallel reality where Rashford was called everything under the sun.

It's pretty fecking strange.

Don't really care about this incident. What matters is performances and those have been woeful.

It’s strange you have even one guy tarring all fans as beer guzzling, abusive, louts. When all the guy did was ask for a selfie beside a group of kids, probably felt disappointed with the players attitude.

I have no idea. It's crazy, is what it is. Multi-millionaire footballer gets call out on his performance after refusing to engage with fans waiting to meet him in the cold. Suddenly it's some massive form of abuse. The Rashford delusion on this board is truly remarkable. It's warping reality now. You'd think they, I don't know, pelted his car with eggs on his way out or called him racial slurs or something.

Agree. Calling that comment from a fan "abuse" is simply ridiculous. He could have just walked away without saying anything.
Some of our players don't know how good they have it. United has some of the noblest/most generous fans out of any huge club out there.

If this is true it’s actually really pathetic and makes him look like someone who doesn’t have the right people around him. If it’s not true the journo who wrote it needs to get sacked.

I know all people can need a getaway. Being a footballer comes with its own pressures but timing and wording is important. Having a team of idvisiors that can read the mood and don’t put out things that turn people against is important.

Millionaire goes abroad when given time off work. Someone grab the pitch forks.

So hes not even allowed to go on holiday now?

Shouting you're shit at our players or words that effect. Yeah what a brilliant idea. What fecking good is that ever going to do? Bet he feels a million times better now doesn't he?

Fans seem to think because they earn a lot of money they then are entitled to shout abuse at them. We are meant to be Utd fans and support our players in public. Be as critical as you like in private but I have never really understood booing your own players or shouting abuse.

The truth is a lot of Utd fans are very unhappy and some even borderline depressed and are taking it out on Rashford and Maguire.

The Glazers and Woodward are 100 times more guilty for our demise than either of those two players. It's time our fans realised that.

So hes not even allowed to go on holiday now?

Exactly. It's gone beyond a joke now.

I heard he's the one responsible for the war in Ukraine too. Wouldn't put it past some of the absolute whoppers on this thread.

Rashford isn't really to blame for our crap season. He's not even starting most weeks anymore and we are still crap when he doesn't hence why he gets subbed on. Fans just need somebody to take out their anger on. It's really sad.

Glazers and Woodward have caused this. If you need someone to blame...there you go.

Does the season ticket holder have this privilege? That's cool

I swear I got a number of idiots jumping on my back when I shared that video on a Facebook page for United fans. They didn't even watch the incident, and yet they swallow the shit coming from Rashford's PR team (in which his own sibling(s) is(are) working). I find it pathetic that everything suddenly becomes abuse to the poor little baby, even when it's the manager telling him to take the focus back on football.

Rashford has chosen the Mario Balotelli route, blaming others instead of looking at himself in a mirror. Such a lack of self-reflection and lack of resilience will only get him into more trouble down the road.

Rashford's condition is indicative of our current malaise. He's a Manchester lad who displayed so much initial promise and excitement and now he is abject and directionless. I'm sure all the sports psychologists in the world have been at him, but it's not working. Ferguson sent Schmeichel off to clear his head and it would be great if Rashford could get himself back.

Come on, this wasn't even abuse. Players are cussed out by their own fans probably every game at every stadium in the world. Granted this was outside OT, but still

The fan was showing his displeasure at Rashford's Performance, told him he played shit, which he did, if we keep our emotions and thoughts to ourselves , fans might as well watch the match in silence.

Just saw the video. If he can’t even handle that feck me we have problems. Talk about a sensitive ego.

I don't get it. A fan gave some stick, and got some back? And now that's added to the current pile on?

If it's bad that Rashford reacted then is it not bad that the fans abuse him in the first place? Or the abuse is "part of football" as some say in here... and so was the response. "Fans" need to deal with it either way and quit crying about it ffs, making a mountain out of a molehill and adding to the toxicity surrounding anything to do with the club. I could put this while forum on mute sometimes...... Full of moaning babies.

That's what's a bit concerning isn't it. I have no problems with players dishing it out but this a proper overreaction to a complete nothing comment. Although reading some of the posts in here it seems to become normal to be overly sensitive about everything these days.

Ah so you've decided to comment on a video you haven't seen then. As most overly entitled posters in here that have come to the conclusion he has been abused by that fan.
