Not this again. I swear there're 3 or 4 players we always get linked to each summer till they feck off to another team.

Why on earth are people so obsessed with him?

He's injured a lot and when he isn't he makes mistake after mistake. He's barely improved at all since joining Madrid.

I don't get it.
One would think we are in 2014 the way people rave about him.
There are many CBs his age that are in much better form.

Well that's just it: you don't buy young defenders based on form. Varane is quality and if we are in with a (second) shout of getting him we should be all over it.
 
Unless he comes up with a ridiculous wage demand that upsets the wage structure they have in Madrid, he'll stay there for prime years of his career. He's finally the unquestioned starter when fit and Pepe is on the way out (and Ramos is 31). Most successful club in world and he has a countryman in Zidane as his manager. There is little reason (besides eventual big money) for him to even contemplate moving.

Like? Because I find it hard to decide who I think the best option for us is.

Yes... though when he does want a big fat pay rise I'm sure our name will be used as a bargaining tool
But essentially I agree that I can't see him wanting to leave madrid

Sometimes I wonder if people even watch games or just look at Youtube highlights. Varane absolutely bossed Higuain last night. A world class defender that's an upgrade to anything we have. He's injury prone but that's about it with him.

Well, yes, I rate him highly, but he's probably not for sale. So it begs the question IMO, who people think would be improvement on the players we already have there.

Higuain practically marks himself in finals.
 
Not happening, Madrid wont sell/he wont move and he doesnt have any reason to mow Pepes on the way out.
 
About to sign a new contract until 2022.

Looked sharp yesterday, clearly on an upwards spiral. Maybe Pepe leaving liberated him after all.

He was always going to become an elite level defender, though he is somewhat limited on the ball.
