This transfer is extremely unlikely, Varane is finally getting to be managed by Zidane (his biggest reason for joining Real and his idol) and Pepe is about to leave which will guarantee him game time as starting CB which I believe was the only reason he might've wanted to leave. This rumour has been around for the last couple of seasons but I can't imagine he'll leave Real unless he's actively forced out of the club.
He hadn't progressed at all over the past 3 years. That's not a good sign. Obviously there is a large chance this is down to constant injuries, which is another big reason why we should steer clear. We already have too many injury prone defenders.

I personally think it nearly happened in summers gone by, and Madrid seem much more serious this summer, putting in proper bids early in the summer. It was their fault it didn't happen before, because they tried to pinch pennies and play games. Now they clearly just want it done.
Doesn't Varane start for them? Playing a CL final and probably has a winners medal from last time? Why would he even entertain the idea of moving here?
He turned us down last Summer. Now Pepe is off, Ramos is 31, he will soon be the main man at the back I'd imagine, and is in another Champions League final in 2 days.
