This smacks of Varane using Utd's name to get a new contract from Real to be honest.

Every time Ramos wanted a new deal the Utd rumours would come out.

As we should be, there's a slight chance of varane playing us......there is a huge chance he wants to join us. I'd be completely shocked if MUFC went into this with absolutely no concern of a contract ploy because we may need to switch to back up targets should that eventuate.

He returns from his holiday in July, 21. It'll be over pretty quickly.
By the end of this week the deal should be struck.
Or he changes his mind and stays, but this is very unlikely now.
 
Yeh, Yeh, Yeh, all done even though United haven’t made an offer yet and Varane is in holiday. Trippier supposed to be buying a house from Raheem Sterling too. So is Sterling off elsewhere to another club?

I’ve seen absolutely nothing that we didn’t see with Ramos before.

I’d love Varane at the club but I’m still convinced we’re being taken for a ride.
 
Fabrizio already confirmed Varane is not using us for a new contract but wants a new challenge .

Honestly that doesn't preclude the possibility that Varane's agency put out that information to journalists as a negotiation ploy with Real Madrid. But what's more encouraging is reports of Varane agreeing terms (or almost agreeing) with United and now letting the clubs agree a price. It indicates more seriousness than Ramos transfer ever was.

And I am saying this after being skeptical until last week.

They haven't been tweeting about United, they've been tweeting about a Madrid player who's seemingly on the verge of leaving. They do the same with all their players, has feck all to do with us besides the fact that we're the interested club when it comes to him

I think the same, he won't want to return to club training with Real unless he's staying there of course.

So one way or another there's going to be a resolution quickly. My bet is he's in a United shirt by Friday.

Yes, i believe we are negotiating with the view of closing the deal asap. Almost all tier 1 sources say the same. this makes me quite optimistic and i was never this optimistic during Ramos transfer.
 
:lol: nobody knows anything least of all Mitten. What Mitten says is the obvious observation. Regardless of what happens we are definitely going for another CB be in Varane, Torres or whoever.

I personally dont think Varane is using us a la Ramos but we shall have to wait and see.

Varane (likely), New CDM, Maguire, AWB, Shaw, Fred (Brazilian first teamer) De Gea etc etc

Has there ever been such an exciting season to look forward since SAF. But could a World Cup in November come at a worse time for us, we’re likely to be the, if not one of the, clubs with most players across different national teams who get furthest in the World Cup and can see us get ravaged with injuries that derail our season… will be very annoying especially if before November we’re in top 1 or 2

World Cup is in 2022 - 18 months away

I'm not saying they think/he is rubbish, but they have probably earmarked a replacement that is as good/better and will see a transaction that makes them a profit. Yet when you question a signing or say that they're perhaps not as good as people seem to make out, you get pelters for it. And they are the ones that have ended up with egg on their faces more often than not these last 8-9 years yet still don't want to hear it.

- Robben (better career at Bayern after left Real, won treble at Bayern)
- Higuain (left Real for Napoli for 40m, later became top scorer in Italy and cost Juventus 90m)
- Ronaldo (still managed to score 100+ goals for Juventus in past 3 seasons after left Real, which is still easily more than anyone from Real Madrid squad. The club start to decline after they sold Ronaldo)
 
Reading between the lines of everything, we are 48 hours from being close to monitoring the situation of an approach to start preparing the framework of contact with Madrid in the coming days in order to inquire about what brand of red hair dye he wants and in discussions with Varane's representatives about whether he will sign a United home or away shirt of a random fan without knowing it in two weeks.
