Aye this might be the reason why there's been more quiet regarding this story this week...

Doubt anyone ever wants to discuss business while on vacation at a nice tropical locale  , kind of defeats the entire purpose of going on holiday.

Should be hearing new developments whenever he's back in Europe

Ahh those dreamy eyes. Come to the red of Manchester you sweet prince.

Its pretty obvious that if Madrid offer Varane David Alaba money he will stay. They aren't willing to go there as perez is saving everything for Mbappe.

As much as Varane is a rolls royce of a CB i.e. top 3 in the world. Do we really want a player coming to us just for the money? If he honestly wants the challenge of a new league then fair enough. If its just that Madrid wont pay him what he thinks he has earned during his time there then thats a different matter.

I think it's about feeling valued. He's their most senior and best CB and feels he should be compensated as such. If you saw a new hire come in to your organisation, who was talented and experienced but was new and not as good as you, would you not consider your options? I'd leave because it would feel like an insult.

My confidence is waning and i think he'll eventually sign the extension with them. Only a week ago i was very confident but all this waiting by him is to get what he wants from Real and it's getting obvious now

I dont disagree with that. However i think again we are being used by a madrid player to get a better contract.

Everything seems to have slowed down a bit which is weird because nearly every country is out of the Euros now. Should be getting on with it.

I'd imagine if the stump up Alaba money, he'll stay... I just can't see then doing that. I very much doubt his motivation is gone.

I also wonder how much of an impact Pogbas plans will play on Varanes decision. After all if Pogba is hell bent on leaving this summer and will accept a transfer to PSG maybe Varane will think twice and decide to stay at Madrid.

If Varane insists on staying at Madrid for a year and not sign a new deal then he can get an even better financial deal next summer.

I doubt it would have any impact at all. It doesn’t sound like they are particularly close and at the end of the day he’s a professional football player and won’t be basing his decision on whether one player is at the club.

Varane is in the same boat so to speak as Pogba. They are in the last year of their contracts and they are both 28 years old which means this is probably the last big contract they'll sign.

From all accounts, madrid have asked him to take less money to re-sign with them while United are offering more per week to sign with us.

Simple task for Varane is will the move be worth it for the extra money made over the span of the contract?

He's been going for years and must have tweeted hundreds of transfer bits, I'm sure he's never got a single thing right.
He was blacklisted on here at one point. Not sure what happened.

Varane to United was 1/5 in Skybet. Now it is 5/4. Even odds doesn´t mean so much, it´s still not a good sign. I guess he will sign extension with Real. Would be stupid from Real to let him go same summer with Ramos. He will get his contract and money he is after.

There has to be one fruitless transfer saga every summer. It's the rule.

The sort of saga, where one week it's all agreed, and imminent, and then 3 weeks later we're "considering" a bid. And so on.

Terms with the player are always agreed about a day into the saga too. That's a given.

He's on vacation, bro.

my mate seen him eating a sausage roll outside the Greggs in Deansgate, so it seems things are moving along nicely.

Season end --> Players need to train with National Team --> Euros --> Players need holiday --> CEOs need holiday --> Scouts need holiday ---> Negotiate --> More negotiations --> Prepare bid --> Season Start --> Submit bid --> Rejected --> Prepare new bid --> Transfer window close.

Quite frankly I think the whole “does he want to come here” thing is overblown 99% of the time. Yes Di Maria was the exception but he also was brilliant and happy until LvG benched him and went super defensive anyways.

These guys are world class competitors, it’s not really in their nature to not give their all especially at a top club. Money or not.

It seems like only us, mortals, who can make decision when on holiday.

About work? Would I feck. I'd be switching off for a couple of weeks.

I'm guessing you'd be pretty keen on sorting it, when there's millions of pounds being sorted, and potential moving between countries etc.

Is there anything for him to sort? It sounds like he's waiting on Real to give him what he wants or he's off.

In that context a couple of weeks uncertainty doesn't do him any harm.

It means absolutely nothing.

About making decision for your future, when options are available now.

It seems like he's holding out for Real to make him what he thinks is a reasonable offer though and a couple of weeks isn't going to make a huge difference. United can hardly give him a decide today or else ultimatum can they?

If he dicks around for too long they'll move on but a week or two for holidays after covid seasons and euros?

True. It seems like he's pretty chill about his "future" per se.

Just because he is ignoring Madrid doesn't mean his mind isnt made up. Its a weird take to fill the vacuum imo. Utd will know what he wants to do and even then I havent heard a report saying Madrid rejected our 50m offer
