Back in feb!
No he wasn't. He was brought in primarily to rescue top 4 - we needed someone who was available and willing to accept the job on interim basis and there weren't that many options - it sounded like he talked a good game in the interview process to convince the club he'd be able to turn it round on the pitch. His expertise in behind the scenes role was just a bonus and afterthought to the club, evidenced by the fact they only offered him a consultancy role for a few days a month and didn't actually bother keeping him on in the end.He was brought into asses the situation on how to build a strong foundation, not to be a manger because he isn’t a manager! Another feck up from this joke of a club!

It was a mistake not make use of his expertise, but it certainly wasn't the primary reason he was hired in the first place.
Conte was not available at the time Ole was sacked. The club persisted with Ole after City/Liverpool thinking he could turn it round when everyone in the whole world knew he couldn't turn it round. By the time the club was forced to sack Ole, Conte was already at Spurs.True, we didn’t have many options. But we did have one option — Conte. We should have gone with Conte.
However, if the idea of Conte was intolerable to many, Ralf as interim manager made perfect sense. We should have kept him on in the consultant role that we desperately need. It’s pretty clear we’re in shambolic hands with Arnold, Murtough and Fletcher.
In United’s case, we don’t have the structure or the people to execute. It’s arguing semantics though.Liverpool had a director of football, a recruitment department, and a manager, who had input into how to assemble the squad. They had this since 2011 and the results were largely poor until they hired Klopp and until Edwards moved up.
The issue was not simply "structure", it was whether the people involved could do a great job or not.
So basically Murtough is that pathologically thick that he hired a guy renowned for developing the strategy of a club, but then gave him the remit that feeding the dividends and getting top 4 was in fact the priority, then sacked him when it didn’t work out. Meanwhile, all of the observations Ralf made are coming crashing down on us this window after Murtough’s ineptitude at developing the strategy of the club becomes apparent. No he wasn't. You couldn’t write this stuff
ETH could’ve needed an Rangnick as an advisor and allied.
We all agree Rangnick did a poor job as manager, but his evaluation of the situation was spot on. United needs an “open heart surgery”.
I think it’s impossible to succeed as manager in United with all sort of clowns behind the scenes. Our transfers and transfers strategy sucks and it has become more and more obvious our transfer problems isn’t related to the manager.
Bring him back as DoF. Even if Murtough miraculously brings in a couple of players this window has been inadequate.

fecking woeful that they've let his 6 months of exposing these frauds go to waste by ignoring him and letting them do it again to the new manager.
I give it 6 weeks before Ten Hag starts throwing out the same lines Rangnick was. No one wanted to hear it at the time but maybe now we got the manager we wanted people will wake up.Yeah that decision has sent us back to square one and no sign of appointing a proper one
There's more chance of Woodward coming backWrong man at the wrong place at the wrong time. If The Glazers has any sense they would sack this Murtough and bring back Ralf as the DOF.
There's more chance of Woodward coming back
Why would it expire? It's an NDA, not a non-compete.It’s gonna be fun when his NDA expires
if you think Ragnick did a poor job as manager...where do you think ETH would finish with current squad? He'd struggle to finish 6th. (it's obviously the players not the managers)ETH could’ve needed an Rangnick as an advisor and allied.

Here is a thing. United fans can't decide on anything. We have set of supporters whom will not protest no matter what because "it's not the United way". We have green and yellow group but the movement never gained enough momentum, whenever something comes up Glazers just makes a distraction (i.e super league & Ceo resignment). Then we have tourists, they're happy regardless of the situation.your fans should take a stand and get them out ASAP.

Maybe give Ralf a call.
As I recall he said he wouldn't have taken the temporary manager job without the consultancy role, I think the club planned to cancel it all along and just lied to him.No he wasn't. Amen to that. But people like Arnold and Murtough are probably going to stone-wall that. They’ve proven themselves to be some of the most conceited and dumbest people around.Yeah don't be too proud to pick up phone Erik because he already had six months of dealing with these utter cowards

Doubt Rangnick would answer that call. The club shafted him, as well as many others. For the life of me I don't know why such a clown like Murtough is in charge of the football side of things when there are men such as Rangnick who have experience in building up clubs. And what the feck is Fletcher doing? This club is a circus. Totally inexperienced men who have no idea what they're doing at the top and at the very top there are leeches on the other side of the ocean who don't give a feck about anything except their yearly dividends.

Meanwhile they reportedly tried to get ETH to retain Phelan, mastermind behind that 2020 disaster summer. Priorities much. Everything from the current regime makes it unlikely they weren't active participants of Woodward's, from terrible contract renewals to disastrous squadbuilding knowledge. Was pretty laughable to suggest Woodward tied their hands in the old trafford basement and forced them to go along with his bad decisions.Doubt Rangnick would answer that call.
