He's a brilliant coach and I to this day can't understand why he's never got a opportunity at a big club. And from following his career over the years I can't think of him failing anywhere.Interesting suggestion I guess he might be to low profile for the United board, but surely he is someone coming from the RB universe, so there is a connection. Has won titles in Austria and Switzerland and in Germany he has a quite good big game record with (upper) midtable teams. Just now the 5-0 cup win against Bayern as the prime example.
Mostly wishful thinking. Can someone explain why everyone thinks this means we will get Ten Hag in the summer? Is he another Rangnick disciple?
This is all pretty laughable. What's so ambitious about hiring a 60+ year old guy who has never worked at a top club? Who has never won a title but a single German Cup with Schalke? How come that's the extent of his career if he's such a messiah of football wisdom? Is Man United's aspiration to run like the well-oiled, unstoppable winning machines that are RasenBallsport Leipzig or TSG Hoffenheim?
Not been drinking. I don't know why they turned him down, but perhaps because he is very direct amd wants to do things his own way on the style he believes is right. This is why I was shocked to see this happen, it's a reverse to the kind of person this board seem to like. Also, i think Spurs tried to get him in the summer but they never came to an agreement. He probably asked for control which Levy hates to give away. My view is, leave the football to footballing knows, owners and CEOs should not be making these decisions, they need to be informed or perhaps, consulted. Not sure if you've been drinking, but how come Arsenal, Spurs, Everton and Milan all turned down this legend?
No idea why he isn't banned.Give it a rest already
Love your one liners.Like Bielsa, never won anything

YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
I said in another thread, the ideal scenario is we get Ralf R now, then in the Summer Ralf chooses the manager and he chooses Ten Hag.
Ralf is a football man, though and through. He won't bow to the likes of Woodward and his cronies. They'll either accept his footballing decisions or he'll leave.
IMO, medium-term, this is the guy (along with the new manager in the Summer) who can get us going head to head with MCFC, CFC and LFC. He won't accept failure.
His focus is fast passing, attacking football. He dislikes side/back passes. When we have the ball, he insists on fast forward passing. He believes that the GK is the weakest player on the ball, so he doesn't like the GK to see much of the ball.
You want fast tempo, hard pressing, relentless attacking football?
Ralf is your man.
Well, we're the kind of club that gives control to our managers, let's hope he can deliver. Not been drinking. Why?No idea why he isn't banned.
I don't think anyone can force him to not drop Ronaldo, but honestly I don't even think it will be his aim to drop Ronaldo, it will be his aim to organize the team around him to make up for the lack of against the ball committment that a player like Ronaldo naturally signifies. Ronaldo has amazing capabilities of historical greatness in an area that is of utmost importance - scoring goals -, would be dumb to not use those.
I realize that German managers are in high demand, but hiring Rangnick now is about the equivalent of Arsenal signing Podolski when Germany was starting to produce all this amazing young talent.
He is wumming in pretty much every thread. He is tedious and boring. Why?
Granted its not what everyone wants to hear and I don't agree with him, but I don't think he's wumming, so why would we ban someone for voicing an dissenting opinion?
Gladbach aren't that small, usually they are lingering around top 4 in Germany and therefore sometimes playing in the CL. And they payed a fee of 7.5m€ to get him from Frankfurt, one of the highest fees ever paid in world football for a manager I think? At least in Germany only Nagelsmann was more expensive and I can remember Villas-Boas, but apart from that I don't know. He's a brilliant coach and I to this day can't understand why he's never got a opportunity at a big club. Yeah. I’d like to think that influence was a crucial aspect in him accepting the job but I’ve heard elsewhere that he’s been keen to land a top job before retirement. As I discussed with Adnan initially - there are aspects of Ralf's approach that obviously would benefit ETH, like the high intensity pressing/counter pressing etc. but he did make the point that the approach is a little more 'rock n' roll' rather than calculated build up.
I'm not sure though - I guess it really depends on how much influence he will really be able to have in the short to medium term.
@Adnan made a good point earlier that I never really considered. I do think hiring Ralf as the interim suggests Poch will be who we pursue in the summer, doesn't look like it will be Ten Hag.

That's the main reason why I like this appointment. We're hiring a footballing mastermind who officially starts in six months with his proper job as an advisor, whilst also fixing our interim manager issue in the meantime. It's pretty smart from the board and seems like they're actually going to do something about the backroom issues that have plagued us alongside the on-field ones. The fact that our DoF is a big fan of Rangnick doesn't hurt either. This way he will also fulfill the part of knowing what we have in terms of players and staff by the time we hit the summer transfer window, rather than starting all over again in the summer and wasting a window for the coach to get to know the players. Way more continuity with this approach we took.

Leave him alone, he's clearly insane.
The problem being that Poch allegedly wants power and no DOF influence. If rumours are true, he is allegedly disappointed by the lack of power he has at PSG and he ended up pushing Paul Mitchell out at Tottenham. It would be very strange for Rangnick and Murtough to pick Pochettino and it would be even stranger for Pochettino to take the job. Before that move I thought that Pochettino was the club's choice but now I wonder if papers aren't wrong about that.
I'm just expressing my opinion, you're just objecting because you don't like to hear it, and not so often. He is wumming in pretty much every thread. He is tedious and boring.

season ends in may. He's not though... He's got more than 6 months. That's the point! And that's why it makes so much sense.
I think it's pretty clear that you're wumming here, but hey, that's just my opinion.I'm just expressing my opinion, you're just objecting because you don't like to hear it, and not so often.
The most exciting thing about this, is it shows a geniune long term approach that we've been lacking for so long.
As a Manager it's a good hire I think, but Rangnick's impact will be setting the standard for the club moving forward, moving us away from the boys club. Which we've been desperate for for years. Whilst he won't tolerate the lack of effort we show weekly.
Be really interesting to see the Manager he recommends. Not sure Poch is as nailed on now.
I expressed the same negative opinion about Rangnick before he became your interim manager too. So why would I be wumming and for what? I'm consistent.I think it's pretty clear that you're wumming here, but hey, that's just my opinion.
