I think once they see him at work especially if if he has time to push his vision through Woodward and his cronies will be more than happy that they brought him in. The man will make us more efficient and I suspect he will be more deliberate and committed to youth so I think players like Laird, Mejbri and Amad will get more concrete opportunities.
What I suspect is that, if things go really well in the next six months, there won't be a permanent manager as he will take the role himself or maybe fashion a hybrid role, with his assistant taking a more prominent role a LA Queroz, that will take care of the first team and revolutionize the club's structure. Nevertheless exciting times ahead.

He's the first manager than can bring a progressive football philosophy to this club if he's given time to do so. So I'm very much looking forward to this appointment.

yes, hopefully he can make a last big footprint in his career. and its not his fading out into the pensionI agree. It’s all well and good to watch videos of his tactics at different teams he’s managed, but he’s got very little time to impose a drastic change on the team now.
I mean, the team isn’t great to watch right now, so anything will be an improvement, but we don’t have the players yet to suit his style of play. Hope he can get the team moving in a more structured, attacking way.

Don’t think I’ve ever had this sort of buzz and excitement about a managerial appointment like this one. Even more so that he’s not just here for 6 months and heading off for pastures new in the summer. He’s staying on in a consultancy role to fix the footballing infrastructure at this club and build a structure and create an identity. A proper football man who I thought the Glazers would not want as he ain’t a banker or a “puppet yes man”.
Honestly, I've been trash-talking him for days now because it's fun (when I never in a million years would have expected him to actually get the job) so I just wanted to be consistent and die on the hill I'd shoveled up.
I've given the club shite for the past few weeks and I have to say this is a really good decision so kudos to the higher ups in the board for this appointment.

Yep. Club has proven many wrong today. Making proper good moves. I don't care about results. All I want to see is a proactive United from top to bottom. Get the right pieces in place, the results will come.

He won't take the role permanently, he purposely took the DOF road almost 10 years ago, nowadays he is a DOF/football executive that is perfectly able to be the interim manager while he finds a permanent manager that's what he did at Leipzig.

I watched an interview of him there recently where he was talking about meeting a specific doctor and how helpful he's been, how he takes blood samples and urine samples etc. for each player and how they should always be on unique regimes, different diets etc.

Tuchel has proven what an elite coach can do to a team of world class footballers. We genuinely have a very good squad and I’m certain a coach like Rangnick will transform our play very quickly
I think everyone in our team bar McFred and AWB can play in more expansive styles of play but you can't really do much of your midfield is crap and designed work rate only. Given that Fred can be useful, the challenge then becomes to fashion a solution for defensive midfield that ensures that the team is at least functional until the January window at least so I suspect we will see more of Donny in the 6 role and how he does there determines what we will do in January.
At least we now have a guy with connections, eye for talent and a database of players who can identify a getable and inexpensive DM.
Also exciting is that Fletcher will learn from a respected and revered football brain and will be ready to have a more influential role in the club when the time comes.

Simply just wow. I would have never thought that this club would have the ambition to go out and get Ralph. This guy is a legend in Germany, even the way he talks, it's pure information. He will take no rubbish from any player, whether it be Pogba or Ronaldo or Amad or Lingard. He wants to win, he wants to win in his own style. For those of you who are not familiar, forward pressing, direct football or work to get the ball in the net as soon as possible.
Now I am not expecting a champions league or a premier league from him, i am expecting a new school of thought to start flowing through this club. Having him for a least 2 more years will help transform this club properly, this is what I call a reset. He loves detail, he loves data, he loves work ethic, he loves positional sense, he loves ambition. Whether he is manager or a consultant, this is what I expect from future players we recruit.
I hope some of the players are sitting there and pissing themselves. They should be worried about their places in the team. I wouldn't worry so much about Carrick or Mckenna being around with him there, this guy will control and oversea every single thing. If he don't like it, he will change it. We appointed Solskjaer against the initial thinking because he won loads of games, and after PSG I reckon 80% of this forum would have said give him a permanent deal.
Anyway...it's all water under the bridge...thankfully the majority seem very pleased with Ragnick, so hopefully will have the goodwill of the fans behind him.
This is all pretty laughable. What's so ambitious about hiring a 60+ year old guy who has never worked at a top club? Who has never won a title but a single German Cup with Schalke? How come that's the extent of his career if he's such a messiah of football wisdom? Is Man United's aspiration to run like the well-oiled, unstoppable winning machines that are RasenBallsport Leipzig or TSG Hoffenheim?
