Ralf Rangnick | ex-interim manager | does anyone rate him?

He made a really pointless sub in my opinion. The changes he made today made us look less controlled.

I also cant keep defending him if he constantly picks Maguire too.

If he doesn't have the stones to sub Ronaldo playing like that he is not an option for the full time gig.

of course he isnt. His time will be up in the summer.

That’s the problem. Owners know he is a lame duck, that’s why they didn’t back him in January. Players know he’s a lame duck, that’s why they’re half arsed.

Club is a complete joke.

Think his hands are tied with Ronaldo up top, it’s like playing with 10 men

Shite manager. Not nearly good enough. You guys see what you wanna see.

He's not worked wonders but then again you feel he's hamstrung. Why are Rashford and Maguire starting game in, game out.

Does he rate them or is he being told to pick them?

This club is so rotten.

He benched Rashford when he wanted to, left Martial out of the squad when he wanted to. These are clearly his decisions.

Yep rangnick should be slaughtered for ronaldo missing an open goal and rashford running into walls.

I don't understand how he subbed Tommy to let go of the midfield completely while chasing a goal. I would have put Matic.

There are some patterns with play under him. But if you keep losing 1 goal lead in a very predictable way and could not score for a whole half almost every game, then at some point, blaming on missing chances won't cut it.

Should have kept Carrick as interim. He did well in much tougher fixtures than anything RR has faced so far.
Seems like an injury time winner against a „top“ side like West Ham is the best it can get under the current coaching team.

Not sure why this is a surprise, he's barely coached in the last decade and even before then it wasn't as if he was one of the best around. His real value will be as a consultant, this season is just about counting down until we get a proper manager and Rangnick can provide his expertise above them.

Hopefully this will calm down the absolutely nonsensical notion of him staying on in this role next season that a lot of posters have suggested on here, seemingly based only on him speaking reasonably in press conferences and small improvements in performances against low quality opponents.

We're not leaking goals but aside from first 30 mins has to be said that game was dreadful. He is just an interim and i'd still take it every day over Ole. The players were just so bad today. Bruno, headless. Rashford just pointless balls into noone. Ronaldo is absolutely useless at the moment as a frontman and its like playing with 10 men.

I think the blame goes beyond him given what he's walked in to.

Brainless, spineless, heartless players all across the squad. And for all the money spent, there's no depth to replace them.

I think Ralf was sold a pup. The team was broken before he arrived and, even after clearing some of the players out, he wasn't even given 20M to improve the team. There were options we could have got at this price range, and we need multiple people there so it wouldn't have been the end of the world for a new manager.

Now we will miss out on Champions League football, the revenue that brings, and it will make it harder to obtain our player/manager targets in the summer. If we gave the club over to the PG Tips chimps it couldn't be worse run.

I am not so sure.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. I think they're his decisions but with an eye on the next two years.

He doesn't want to burn bridges with the club darlings and I think he's paying the price for it.

Time seemly runs out already. We are more likely to finish at the sixth to eighth in the end.

god knows. Remove our only sort of defence midfielder for a winger, and then move Pogba back into the gap
If we would have brought on matic to settle for a draw like ole he would have been slaughtered.

Rangnick is fecked either ways.

He has nothing to work with really, we’ve looked a bit better at times but we’re not a very good team. We need the season to be over, get a good manager and give him some cash and see where we go.

Missing chances do happen to every team almost every game. Look at how many chances City and Pool wasting their chances in a single game on average. We are not unique in it.

It is just that we don't seem to create much at all after equalizers in almost all recent games. That shows that his in-game management is pretty bad in those.

We are the club that let a novice remain in charge for 3 years. Ralfs been ok, won't be here for long anyway so I see no point in complaining about him. He has, to some extend, steadied the ship but our former manager really left us in tatters.

I dont know why he didn't change to control the midfield. As soon as McT got a yellow,we lost the midfield battle

This was my half time comment

Our midfield is a problem. Scott is on a yellow and he is shit scared of going for challenges. We have been outplayed in the last 10 mins because we lost control in midfield. Don't have anyone on bench either and Scott can't be a passenger like this.

Blaming rangnick is just stupid, this club is rotten from top to bottom. You could have pep in the job a d these players would be still making excuses.

It was already gone. McT was a passenger ever since he got his yellow.

There is definitely an improvement in attacking and defensive shape. We're playing in patterns and generally looking like a far more sustainable team than the one Solksjaer left. But really that's the bare minimum required. We should be doing so much better.

Yes, Rangnick can't be held responsible for our players missing easy chances. But it's become a pattern that we start well for the first half, then concede cheaply in the second. It's up to him to change that and it's not working.

Because the players pull the foot off the pedal. That surely cant be on rangnick ?

His main job is to prepare the tactics and strategy and give the players the best chance to dominate and win the game, after that its on the players.

No one can say we got played off the pitch and barely created anything. Its on the players to stick with the gameplan and to actually score sitters once in a while.
