Ralf presser against Arsenal

I think we underestimate the importance of money with coaches and managers.

Ralf will be getting paid money levels above what he's received before. He won't voluntarily be going anywhere. He's about to enter an extremely cushy consultant role with us.

Considering the absolute state were in, it'll be anything but "cushy".

Just walks into Ten Haag's first meeting with John Mutrough completely un-announced, boombox in hand to eminem's machine gun kelly.

Rashford just hit me on a text
Last night Trent left stood marks on his neck
Pogba, your’re injured again? I'm perplexed
Maguire’s re-posting norwich passing clips, another weird flex
Damn, these players can’t press or attack
Was watchin' class of 92, on my NordicTrack
Donny I forgot to recall you back
Here's 14 players to sell, to close that 24 point gap
Juan, Wan, Ron
Listen, man, Ralf isn't mad
But how you gonna play vs arsenal when you can’t even run
This summer clear out has just begun.

(yeah i'm bored)

I read that in my rap voice!

It won't be cushy for ETH and his staff but an outside consultant doing a few days here and there? It's as good as it gets. Anybody would jump at that for the money we pay.

Not that I'm displeased, I want Ralf around.

But it reminds me of neville saying ETH might not want to come.

They'll absolutely want to work for United. The pay alone will ensure that.

I don't expect much change, regarding our game against Arsenal.
The players have well and truly mentally and physically copped out for the season. Hopefully we don't see the majority of them wear the shirt next season.

The board, huh ?

I'd really love if he could be more involved and use his connections to Leipzig and other places with upcoming talents. Could be a good cooperation with ETH, at least when it comes to refreshing things at the club.

He’s just deflecting, he’s involved for sure. But the media doesn’t need to know.

Thought there was more to RR’s comments about Ten Hag being successful if “having the chance to build and mould his own staff with a new team”

Again pointing toward the need for the manager to be given the support he needs. Not with hangers on from previous regimes and hands tied by the scouting department.

Our club is being slaughtered at all levels so doubt they'll get off lightly.

In the last year or two numerous staff members have had their homes attacked and / or lives threatened.

We've some absolute morons in our midst.

I get your point and agree that with this group of players you really don't know if they will bother to turn up however I also wouldn't be surprised if we see a decent reaction.

The players will want to make some kind of impression for ETH you would think and I still believe we have some players who still care and will feel embarrassed about what happened vs Liverpool.

This season is a right off now though so I really hope Ralf picks a team of players who are more likely to be here next season and throws in one or two of the youngsters. Would love to see both Elanga and Hannibal starting for example.

Hopefully EtH hire RR to do his press conferences. Probably the only interesting press conference around, he is so refreshingly honest.

Problem is, we've had some truly sorry performances and there has been, practically, zero reaction and I don't expect one either for this game.

Apart from Elanga and Hannibal, there's nobody to root for in this side.

I'd love Ralf to stay on at the club, but if he does decide to call it quits, I hope it frees him from his professional obligations where he can just name and shame all the toxic, lazy feckers he's had the displeasure of having to coach, or at the very least leak their names to the press - now that would be fitting.

But regardless, his candidness is a breath of fresh hair, irrespective of how poor we've been these last months. I hope he's equally, if not more candid and revealing when he starts talking to Ten Hag.

Yep. I've enjoyed Ralf's tenure for that alone. It's a real breath of fresh hair.

I was reading that with the killshot track playing in the back

I kind of like his interview, talking much sense, and at the same time, keeping having a go on our underperformed players in a very polite manner.

Can't wait till he fecks off to to his 6 days a month consultancy role.

Ralf comes across pretty toxic to me but a lot of you aren't ready to have an honest conversation about that. He's failed horrendously as manager here but doesn't waste a second in isolating himself from the mess.

He has, he's failed as an interim if we're of the understanding his objective was to lead the team to a top 4 finish and not audit the squad and club structure. I think it's well documented by various journalists that he's not a details man, he's a big picture guy and doesn't know how to do the day to day of club management anymore. From what we understand the players can't relate to him and don't know what he wants.

Then you realise he's the interim manager of one of the biggest sporting institutions in the world with a bunch of players that can't even get themselves up for a game against Liverpool away, and all of a sudden he's absolved from any blame you might want to throw at him.

There are a couple I’m ‘ok’ with (not a big fan of but ok).. Fred, Varane, Dalot. Not saying they’re playing great but …

Maybe Garnacho gets some minutes (though if he does, hope doesn’t get a knock ahead of the Cup Final). He is likely one of the youth team that ETH gives a chance to

He never was the manager here. He was an interim and was always going to be one and he came onboard as one. He has done an excellent job as a man who knows what to do to structure a club and the club has got ETH as the next manager after seeing the chaos at the club. Without Ralf, they may had gone with the POK and it would be the same story all over again after a season or two.

Ragnick is not absolved of blame. Can we stop spouting rubbish? The general consensus is that he has failed to do his primary task but excelled in his secondary role from what he says. That again is a failing on the board. However, having identified ETH months ago as the next manager, hiring RR or someone similar was clearly the the route to go. It hasn't turned out like it has happened for Chelsea several times, but then again, that has been the story of this club in 10 years.

To blame Ragnick and ignore the shower of shite he has had to work with is extremely unfair. These are players who play for only themselves. We saw this with Ole. They disrespect everyone they think isn't up to their imaginary lofty standards. What was Ragnick going to do with that? Suddenly wake them up when they won't motivate themselves or try to play better?

He tried to push them when he came in and they were like "we've been here before with Ole" and they only lasted a few minutes against Crystal Palace before reverting to type.

These group of players will throw Pep or Klopp under the bus, I guarantee you. They rise up to nothing. Not even a contest against a bitter rival in Liverpool is enough. And if you talk about dropping half of them and using the kids, then you get the situation with Mejbri in the last game and or Elanga's terrible form recently. Kids who can get destroyed forever if they fail. Especially when they are expected to perform better than senior players they ought to be looking up to. RR has been very careful introducing the youngsters for this reason. Heart is never enough with kids. It needs more.

If we fail to win all our remaining games, it will be evident Ragnick failed as manager, but if he's allowed a more hands approach on his consultancy role, I am extremely sure he'll be a success. And if we are honest, that's the role that suits him and these players know but have no self respect.

Can you see Ralf over the next two years being blamed like Woodward or having his house attacked? I can't. He won't be in a figurehead type role, in fact he won't be visible at all I bet.

I doubt he'll even be living in the UK. He's only doing a few days a month isn't he?

It's a sweet job.

Ralf Ragnick: Memoirs of a Gegenpresser

Chapter 1: Arrival
I’d heard before I arrived they called Harry Maguire ‘slabhead’ which always amused me given the funny translation into plattekopf in my native tongue. What didn’t amuse me was that it turned out dummkopf would have been more apt once I had taken a few training sessions, how this club sanctioned a record transfer for him has kept me up many sleepless nights.
I arrived in Manchester to much fanfare, the extra attention was not my cup of tea as they say here but first impressions are bleak, this group of players have been mollycoddled beyond repair and the few great players here have have seen too many winters; I’m told Cavani plays for us but I’ve not seen him in weeks. Energy levels are as bad as I’ve ever seen, what did the previous manager do, let them eat apple crumble on cheat day or something! To compound this issue, no one seems to know their role, there’s a tall wiry Scottish guy who coaches, apparently scouts players, interviews managerial candidates and also keeps joining me in the dugout unasked for, who is he? Why is my assistant always wearing AirPods? Who is he speaking with, I am right next to him? Who is that old man wearing shorts in December putting out the cones? These are the questions I will need to solve if I am to be successful here.

Ralph: "There might be a few others who - although they have contracts - they are already on loan and still want to be on loan or leave the club."

He may as well have just said "that lazy cnut Martial".

I mean its pretty easy to deduce he was referring to the likes of Martial and Brandon Williams

The interesting one would be Donny - wondering if ETH's announcement has made him reconsider leaving.

Yeah, you're right. This team doesn't deserve all the abuse that Ralf gives them. I think the home fans should cheer them on Thursday regardless of the constant batterings and embarrassing performances that they have put in. Never mind the leaking of information behind the scenes like team lineups and how most of them want to be else where. It's all Ralf's fault

Interesting that he hasn't spoken to ETH yet, you'd think he would be involved with the next manager discussion. He also said he hasnt discussed with the club more on his consultancy role. It seems more and more that once the season ends the club will let go of Ralf.
These were my initial thoughts.

clear from that that he had no role in ETH appointment. which is an absolute joke. I know he is busy preparing the team... but what did we actually bring him in for. he ius a worse coach than ole and a brilliant upstairs football person by all accounts. we keep him busy prepping the team to be poor while we make big decisions upstairs and away from him
