Rangnick on recruitment
I don't know. This is a question for the board. My focus is on the last remaining games. It's better you speak to the board."

Rangnick on Ten Hag
"We don't know each other in person. From what I've seen of him with Bayern Munich and Ajax now, I like his football and I'm pretty positive with a full pre-season and having the chance to build and mould his own staff with a new team, I'm pretty sure we'll see a different team and improvement on the pitch."

Rangnick on team news

Scott McTominay will be back and fit to play. He'll be available for the game tomorrow, the same with Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo is available again - he's been training with us now All the others are still injured plus Paul Pogba."

Rangnick on Arsenal
"I think they drew the right conclusions from what they experienced earlier on in the season. They brought in some young players, Odegaard for example, they got rid of some players who didn't fit that style of football. It's a high attacking team with fast strikers, pretty aggressive in the first third, always trying to press and counter-press. I like watching them actually, but hopefully not against us tomorrow, so it's up to us to be aware and prepared of what they're doing up front, but at the same time, taking advantage of the space that we will hopefully get in their half."

Rangnick on summer outgoings
"I mean, it's obvious there are quite a few players with their contracts expiring. There might be a few others who - although they have contracts - they are already on loan and still want to be on loan or leave the club. It will be a significant change and rebuild necessary, that's clear, but how many players and which positions, as I've said, I've not spoken to Erik in person yet. If he asks me my opinion in person, I'm willing to speak to him about my experience, but on the other hand, he'll also have his own ideas."

Rangnick on Liverpool reaction
"We only trained yesterday because the day after the game was recovery. Yesterday we trained some issues in connection with the game, but the only real training session we're going to have is now in an hour's time. They [players] were as disappointed as we all were, so it's now up to the players and us to show a reaction on the pitch tomorrow."

Must win game for United?
"I don't think that it makes sense to speculate about how likely it still is for us to finish fourth or wherever, it doesn't make sense, after a performance like that at Liverpool. We just need to make sure we play far better. This is the only way to deal with it. We need to get the best possible team on the pitch and play in a different way, with more conviction, more confidence and more aggressive behaviour on the pitch. We will have to show a completely different performance."

The liverpool game was the last straw. He saw them go out there and simply not do anything from the game plan. Now it's total war.

The board, huh ?

I'd really love if he could be more involved and use his connections to Leipzig and other places with upcoming talents. Could be a good cooperation with ETH, at least when it comes to refreshing things at the club.

wonder if we see an uptick of youth against arsenal based off these comments?

Pogba never soiling a United shirt again is the best news I’ve heard from the club in a long while. Things are looking up.

Love Rangnick, he’s very open and honest. He should be the DoF.

There's been a lot of debate about Murtough's credentials, and no matter which side of the fence you lie on, can anybody really say he deserves to be the DOF more than Rangnick, who is probably one of the best in the world at that role?

Apparently, the embargo quotes, he went in to more details about certain stuff. So Sky sports news just said.

Be interesting to see later. Go on Ralph!

He said the same about the manager hiring in press conferences. Its his default response when he doesn’t want to answer

Totally agree. Its shocking how badly we have managed the footballing side of operations over these last 9 years.

No need. Just make him Chief Operating Officer Technical and make him the boss on all footballing matters and the boss of the DOF. So Murtough will report to him and he reports to Arnold.

"I'm willing to speak to him about my experience "

The man is about to unleash the longest diss track of 2022

Just walks into Ten Haag's first meeting with John Mutrough completely un-announced, boombox in hand to eminem's machine gun kelly.

Rashford just hit me on a text
Last night Trent left stood marks on his neck
Pogba, your’re injured again? I'm perplexed
Maguire’s re-posting norwich passing clips, another weird flex
Damn, these players can’t press or attack
Was watchin' class of 92, on my NordicTrack
Donny I forgot to recall you back
Here's 14 players to sell, to close that 24 point gap
Juan, Wan, Ron
Listen, man, Ralf isn't mad
But how you gonna play vs arsenal when you can’t even run
This summer clear out has just begun.

(yeah i'm bored)

Not bad

Which comments?

Focused on Arsenal's youth and said we need to put out an aggressive team. Well the only take away from basically everyone was that Hannibal giving Pool a right kicking was the only highlight of our game.

Redcafe 2022 post of the year material!!! BRAVO!!!

You just made all that up, are you a journalist?

He's a straight talker, he doesn't send subliminal messages.

Hannibal got a run out because, who else?

Varane back fit? Can we please end the Maguire nightmare then. I don't fancy us scoring two goals to level the two he'll have inevitably gifted Arsenal.

I'd love Ralf to stay on at the club, but if he does decide to call it quits, I hope it frees him from his professional obligations where he can just name and shame all the toxic, lazy feckers he's had the displeasure of having to coach, or at the very least leak their names to the press - now that would be fitting.

But regardless, his candidness is a breath of fresh hair, irrespective of how poor we've been these last months. I hope he's equally, if not more candid and revealing when he starts talking to Ten Hag.

I doff my cap Sir!

Interesting that he hasn't spoken to ETH yet, you'd think he would be involved with the next manager discussion. He also said he hasnt discussed with the club more on his consultancy role. It seems more and more that once the season ends the club will let go of Ralf.

Ralf’s role was to expose the frauds in the first team and to that extent he has done well without naming names.

Or Ralf might be desperate to leave this circus of a club. It’s quite obvious that he was taken aback at how disinterested and switched off the players have been

I think we underestimate the importance of money with coaches and managers.

Ralf will be getting paid money levels above what he's received before. He won't voluntarily be going anywhere. He's about to enter an extremely cushy consultant role with us.
