Rafik Zekhnini

According to the CEO of the club they haven't received an offer from United but TA are adamant that an offer has been Made.

I still trust TA. The ceo cant say anything at this stage I guess. This could happen guys :)

Regarding the newspaper TA:

They and the paper "Varden" are very close to the club (all from the same, fairly small town)

Both papers are saying that Odd is now dismissing the rumours, when confronted with them.
Allthough TA is still claiming to have sources saying otherwise (fairly credible in my opinion)

I'm am certain that Rafik would give his left arm to join United (he is a huge fan), so if there is any chance of this happening, he certainly would do whatever necesarry to make it happen.
And Odd is a very poor club, in european standard, so 3m € would perhaps be to good to refuse.
Even though they had Dortmund at their knees for 30 minutes

OK so maybe we've made a bid for him and maybe we will sign him. But surely he'll need to go out on loan? Age is just a number but he's playing in, with all due respect, a much inferior league and he looks lightweight. OK he looked good against Dortmund but that is one game.

He'll most likely stay at his club till next season I reckon.

I don't think that would be a bad thing. I'm not saying he's not a talented boy but one good game against good opposition isn't really enough. Talented yes no doubt but still very early in his career.

Yea I wouldn't mind buying him and keeping him in the reserves for the rest of the year and then loaning him out to a Championship club for the rest of the season. Don't want him staying there in an inferior league, bring him over and let him adjust to life in England for a bit and then to the physicality and pace of the English game.

Putting him in the championship may be a good shout actually. Certainly one way to find out if he can handle the physicality!

It would be a good shout in terms of playing time but the Championship doesn't resemble the PL where the defences and midfield are far more skillful. I'd prefer the German or Dutch leagues which are a step up in terms of technicality and allow him to develop

To Odd (and probably likewise with Southampton in Mane's case), it could be that it's not an offer unless it is a signed official written offer, whereas to Utd and the journalists, a verbal offer is just as valid. You can probably figure out why all parties would take the position they do - the technicality allows a 'grey" area that is in their interest, for them to spin as they see fit.

He has been good in the norwegian league as well. Its not the best league in the world, but the best teams are doing really well in the Europe League.

3m are peanuts for us. We should sign him up

Looks nicely balanced and ridiculously quick. Let's see what happens

Don't see the point in signing him. Its his first season in the top division. Give him time to develop in a competitive league instead of sticking him in the U21s.

If he is good enough the point would be to snap him up before someone else does and while he's still cheap. I agree that I'd prefer let him develop though. Maybe sign him and let him stay there for a season.

Why not? that's what the big clubs do these days, snap up all the exciting talent, develop & loan them out.

Maybe that way we don't have to overpay so much in the future like we always do.

We can do both. If he's massively talented then sign him before the other big clubs come calling.

He's not good enough just yet. He's pacey and has a good first touch and decent passing ability. Decision making is way off. No point buying him just yet. Unless hes really being chased by many clubs we should just let him be where he us now and wait and watch how he developd

Wouldn't say hes massively talented from what I've seen (which is not much) my norweigein friend says he's world class player in the making but I've seen plenty of teenagers who are good for a short period and then turn out to be avg. We can't just sign all these players and loan them. We need to scout them first.

Because we can't buy everyone who's 17 and has a good game. We need to scout them extensively. There is no official word that we are after him. On what basis do you think we are buying him?

I think Ødegaard is a great talent, but this guy has extreme speed and dribble skills. Ødegaard has much better passing and vision, but this could come with more game time.

@Acquire Me anything new in Norway about this potential deal?

The latest news is that he was out of the team squad because he is going to play for Odd 2 (reserve team / junior team). The media think this is bullshit and that something is going on. Odd has publicly said that they have no offers from United and now they are saying that they dont discuss transfers with the media.
