I don't find it offensive, I think it's just delusion. Why are we often so quickly qualifying our best of " best ... in the world" ? It's a genuine question
I do not like to use potential or the future when talking about Rafael. He is already one of the best fullbacks in the world.
yes,and I felt that the last time we played them.Should be letting stoke worry about our attacking threats, rafael isn't bad in the air and can pass the ball better.Anyone else feel he should be getting the nod when we play teams like Stoke? How is he going to learn to deal with such tactics in the coming years if JOS is given a start purely for his height?

Ok so today I was over my mates house and he is an Everton fan, and I was talking up Rafael and he did the same with Rodwell. Then he tells me that Rodwell is a better talent than Rafael, and I respond by saying Rafael is the best young right back in the world whilst Rodwell isn't close to being one of the best young midfielders in the world. I then went onto say that Rafael has already established himself as a first choice right back amongst three experienced players (O'shea, Neville and Brown).
I know they both play different positions but it's hard to judge who is the better player but who do you guys think is more talented, and has established themselves better so far?
The twins are the most talented Brazilians we've ever had.
Far too early to say. I thought Rafael was probably our best attacker last night, amazingly. Might be a bit of an exaggeration but he started off more than a couple of really potent attacks.
Amazing level of improvement over such a short space of time, he's always shown that. At some point it's bound to slow down and he's going to hit a rocky spell, surely?
He's great though.

Manchester United are waiting to see if Rafael Da Silva needs an operation after the young Brazilian defender dislocated his shoulder for the second time in two years.
Rafael, who dislocated the same joint in July 2009, suffered a recurrence of the injury in training on Thursday but it popped straight back into place.
The 21-year-old has been sent back to the specialist to see if surgery is required and to find out how much of the new season he is likely to miss.
It was a really smart decision to sell both O'Shea and Brown when we've got the perpetually injured Twins at Right back.
O'Shea is out for the Sunderland's opener and Brown spent probably more time on the treatment table than most, so what's your point? It's not like Smalling or Jones haven't shown they can slot in there if needed is it?
