I simply refuse to believe that the player who was considered good enough to play for us in a Champions League final when he was two and a half years younger is worse than Smalling and Buttner at fullback positions.

That's what does my head in. The guy was on his way to cement his spot and some people even thought he would displace Rafael. Very weird situation.

Maybe fabio was actually the 1 who shagged moyes' daughter?

Is it really that difficult to comprehend that Fábio doesn't really want to be here any more because he would like to move back to his home country, and Moyes has made the decision that he will not play him on that basis alone? Maybe Fábio's perspective changed when he was seperated from his twin brother for the first time? Maybe he just isn't happy in England? It's pretty obvious that Moyes wouldn't resort to playing Rafael at left back and Valencia at right back unless Fábio has a serious issue of some sort.

I know a guy who works for one of the Manchester fanzines. Said Moyes doesnt rate Fabio.

When has he said this?

He was cleary frustrated. I see it as a positive though, he is hurting with how this season is going. Shows he cares.

Lovely little interview there on Bein Sports at half time in the Chelsea game. Honest and as you'd expect from Raf he manned up and shouldered responsibility himself along with the other players.

What did he say?

Just that what's been missing is perhaps luck, consistency. The players are taking responsibility and they are fully behind the manager. They need to have a big reaction from the players today, but not just against Swansea every game. They're used to the pressure.

I tried to find it to post it but it doesn't look to be anywhere yet/

He's so important, almost pointless playing Valencia without him atm.

“I agree 100 percent. We are the ones who have to take the responsibility. We have to show, like we did in the second half [against Swansea]. I don't know why everyone is looking at the manager. It is the players who have to do the job on the pitch.”

Rafael said:
“We have to show our quality. People are saying United don't have a good squad. We have to show that is not true.”

Speaking sense. The players have been the main issue and it's up to them to put things right.

Love his passion.

I just love Rafael (and Fabio is equally as infectious).
His presence in the team makes a massive difference. It basically means the right flank isn't effectively defunct.

I think it's good that they will use the negative press as motivation. It's what Fergie used to drive them with. The hole us against them mentality.

From the Sky transfer blog thingy:

The agent of Manchester United twins Fabio and Rafael has been quoted by calciomercato.it as saying it is 'very likely' that both players can leave in the summer. Fabio is out of contract at the end of the season, while Inter Milan and Napoli have been linked with right-back Rafael. The Brazilians' representative Cassiano Pereira expects both players to stay until the end of the season after Fabio was linked with a loan move to Cardiff City. Recent reports have also claimed that Manchester United manager David Moyes is considering a move forEverton defender Seamus Coleman as a possible replacement for Rafael.

We would have to seriously start questioning Moyes' suitability for the job if he plans to sell Rafael.

Losing Rafael would be a massive blow. One of our most promising youngsters who looks like he'll be a top player if he continues to develop. I'd happily get rid of Fabio now if he's not going to get time, but I'd be frustrated if Rafael went.

Hopefully it'll just be rumours though.

Can't begin to express how pissed off I will be if Rafael leaves. He's one of the young players we should be building this club around going forward, along with Welbeck, Jones, Januzaj and de Gea.
