Race for top 4 | Finito.

Everyone was shitting their pants about the prospect of playing Villa at home today. Why is it just a given Liverpool will beat villa when they play them?

Because they can score goals at will and have you seen the defensive line Villa was playing today? They will get thrashed at Anfield if they play this way.

Villa will not be thrashed. Can pretty much guarantee you that. Why people twerk so hard for Liverpool is beyond me.

Yes, people keep saying that.
Liverpool has been maxing out their luck reserve, with refs doing them all kind of favor. It's not like they convincingly won against Spurs, WestHam, Forest. Spurs had more clear chance, and even woodwork kept them out for 2 chances.

The perfect result is not purely due to their performance, but luck. It's not sustainable.

Liverpool also concede goals at will.

Spurs and Forest have scored 5 between them in the last two games at Anfield.

Spurs scored 3 today and hit the post 3 times as well. Bizarre to think it'll be a comfortable win for Liverpool when they play Villa.

Certain posters absolutely love wallowing in misery, they do it in every thread.

Liverpool defense is at least as bad as Aston Villa if you have watched all their game since Arsenal like me. Even against Leeds, at 0-0, 1-0, 2-0, Leeds had every chance to get back into the game if not for them being Leeds.

You just saw Liverpool blew off 3-0 lead at home.

We need a maximum of 9 points from 6 games. It’ll be done with multiple games to spare.

Some United fans have a more positive view of Liverpool performances than Liverpool fans themselves.

I don't think Liverpool are that good but their luck is endless and when they get those wins under Klopp, they don't stop.

Anway, I believe we have more than enough to get the points needed if we don't get any more ridiculous injuries.

When you think about Livepool schedule until the end, their 3 home games are vs Fulham, Brentford and Villa. While I expect them to surely win 2 of those, do hope they can drop points in one. All 3 times are capable of troubling them it's just the case if they can actually get a result unlike Tottenham today.

Just saw the Spurs Liverpool highlights. How bad are Liverpool defensively? Spurs should have actually won the game...

Spurs seriously could have scored 7, that’s how freaky that 7-0 loss was. It’s just finishing

Urgh. 7 Pts clear with a game in hand but 'pool have a pretty easy run in, with their toughest games being played at home.

That Brighton game is going to be so important.

Win our game in hand and we're 10 points clear from 5th spot.

This really shouldn't be hard.

We’re in a very good position. Y’all worry too much.

We can lose at Brighton and absolutely stroll top 4

....and also if we get honest/decent referees who don't hate United - they're a dying breed!

Can someone explain me how the european spots below 4th place are arranged?

I'm not sure that's possible when you see how bad Utd can play at times. Those Newcastle and Spurs games are so fresh in the memory.
You’re not sure us being in a very good position is possible? Because that’s exactly what we are in. We are better then Liverpool this season. I wouldn’t bank on them getting more points than us during the rest of the run let alone 10 points more than us.

Even if they extend their run we’ll finish at least 3-4 points ahead.

This "sensational" run Liverpool are on in the last 4 games has led to them gaining a massive 2 points on us.

And yet certain posters are panicking.

It's 11, Brighton can get 73 and have a better goal difference.

Agree with your last sentence.

There's no way Brighton are winning every game left though so there's little point pretending it's possible.

We all know the real threshold is 9 more points at the most are needed.

Hopefully Liverpool will keep chasing...would be better if they have the EL fixture congestion next season.

Brighton would have to beat us, Arsenal, Newcastle, City to get to 73, among the remaining of their fixture.

Mathematically possible is not same as likely.

We should want Liverpool to be in the Europa League or Europa Conference next season. So they need to win a few games.

United need 9 points, that's all that really matters.

Brighton away will be tough, but at most 3 wins against 5 teams who by the time we play them should be fairly safe with nothing to play for should be hopefully straightforward, especially with 3 of them at home as well.

Main concern is the inevitability of Chelsea sacking Lampard a week before we play them just so they can get a nice new manager bounce in time

We need 9 as Brighton aren't winning all of their games. You'd think it's not that likely Liverpool can do it either but it's more probable anyways.
