It’s not as easy as you’d think. Some folk wither away slowly and you can make that decision pretty easily, others, particularly the ones that are pretty sprightly for their age, just fall off a cliff.

Theres been a fair few occasions I come in to see someone and I think ‘fecking hell, what the hell happened to you?! You were fine a couple of days ago and now you look like a bag of shit’.

they're acting as if the world has ended. a 96 year old woman has died. historically important. ok. my suspicion that this would resemble stalin levels of insanity and hysteria appears to have been on point.

the levels of indoctrination are impressive. when stalin died everyone in the west said "look at how they all pretend to care about him because they're afraid of what happens if they don't mourn". explain this one to me, then. none of you knew this woman. you saw her on television. maybe you met her once at a mass meet and greet. it's madness.

I am not celebrating the queen dying and wish her nothing but peace but hopefully this will be the beginning of the end of the royal family as it is in the UK and for that I am delighted.

Think there's an embargo until 6pm, I expect an announcement in 1 hour 15 minutes that she's passed.

There's rumours that ITV is already readying the death outcome news, and BBC too. This is the time they're preparing to break the news in full IMO.

This whole project is a farce imo. Hopefully in 100 years they'll look back at this and laugh about the media hysteria for an event like this.

Twitter rumours, nothing concrete.

But the BBC said earlier (officially) all programmes suspended until 6PM which would make sense if there's an embargo to release the news.

Outlets would need time to prepare everything, although they'll already have media prepared you'd think.

Politicians wearing black, the family all gathering and the media paying tribute to her already... and then trying to say IF she does, I think it's pretty much saying she's passed.

I haven't had this feeling since Lady Diana passed.

The Death of Stalin film did pop in my head when thinking about all the royals turning up around her deathbed.

Racing each other in through the gates of Balmoral in their Range Rovers.

More important things than football, but I can see the clubs cancelling the fixture or they'll look bad publicly.

Me either. I felt almost from the beginning that she had passed. The only thing I don't feel I know is when they announce. I think they wait until Harry is there then they announce.

Makes sense. I agree she’s likely passed but yes if the BBC have said that then it suggests something will be announced at 6pm

This isn't mocking anyone, you soppy git. It's called satire. The fact that the entire country is waiting on news, and Fabrizio Romano could be the one to break the story is funny on many levels. Especially with this being a football forum which is of no importance to anyone but ourselves.

Only games involving English clubs. If it was the other way around and Felipe VI of Spain died today, I would expect Real Sociedad to cancel tonight.
 
I mean, those on here who've lost a parent will appreciate that the first thing you do when you know things are bad is try to get to see them before they die. It's kind of what non-royals do, too.
