You do know we are man utd not crystal palace
I mean, you can’t get Mbappe to bring on for 10 mins and throw himself at crosses at end of games.

It's clear we lack squad depth. The current backup squad can't beat a championship side. Yet we will need to rely on them over a 60+ game season?
We aren't ready to challenge on all fronts. That's obvious now.
I hadn't saw him play until the last games and he was absolutely terrible. Sure he may still turn it around but damn he looks miles off the standard. At this point I don't think he'll even make it at top level nevermind making it here. He's been absolutely terrible in both games, like a boy amongst men. There's no way he's in any plans for this season and might have even done himself permanent damage here. I genuinely can't think of another player who has looked so far out of place in our team.
Since when did pre-season results matter this much, is this a new thing I'm not familiar with?
Pre season is just that, games to give players minutes, so much so you can sub the whole team at any moment because no one cares. Does anyone actually give a shit if we beat or lose to QPR in July after the Euros with the first team on holiday all over the world?
Wasn't my intention to lecture you on anything. I just noted that I've seen your name now multiple times and very often with posts from a certain kind. It creates a picture of you, if you want it or not, thats all I wanted to tell you. I don't give a flying f*** about your opinion, post whatever you want. If you want to turn the big wheel whenever there are two or three posts out of 50 or so that trigger you, follow the urge. I think it reeks of some sort of insecurity but if you feel this place needs to be in check, then do your thing. The myth is that all players who leave us improve greatly because we're just such a mess and it's because Ole is a clueless idiot (and let's not talk about how these players weren't better under previous managers.) His given examples were Sanchez, Young, Darmian (all bang average squad players for Inter), Smalling (plays exactly the same for Roma as he did for us) and Lingard (went through a purple patch, no dissimilar from the Messi Lingard period, before fading badly.)
And you're not really one to be lecturing anyone on how to post.
2things:
1: its a pre season friendly the results of pre season friendly literally mean nothing.
2 we were missing 18 (i think) first team squad members, literally all our best players bar greenwood and A.W.B, making the already meaningless result even more meaningless.
Both these things are true.2things:

Nevertheless, I find it massively disappointing that we still have so many fringe players that lack the quality and/or the drive to take their chance to shine in fixtures such as these.

Apart from that - I agree, what you mentioned should be a myth. But to be honest (plus while not being around for tooooo long) I have never been under the impression, that there is a big group of people propagating this "myth". At least not to the extent you picture above.
Are there managers who might be able to get more out of the current squad though? Who knows, I tend to say yes but there is no way to prove this point. Just like there is no way to prove the opposite by the way.
Exactly. Irrelevant friendly. Irrelevant score. Fitness exercise for the senior players and many of those we saw today will be sold or on loan this season. The majority of the starters today wouldn't even make the bench, let alone the starting lineup. You realise that, surely?
Proper weird thread this, no idea how it’s all so serious. It was a pre season game we largely dominated apart from a freaky 10 minute period where every shot they had went in. Good minutes under the belt for our younger players & another top day following the reds which is what pre-season is all about.
Mengi (a teenager ffs) finished at the club on the back of two friendlies, feck me some of you need to have a word with yourselves.
“Current back up squad can’t beat a Championship team” well firstly, half that lot are back ups to the back ups and second, they literally beat a Championship team last week.
That’s not the point. Don’t you think it would be nice if a few of them were able to force their way onto the bench at least? The majority of the starters today wouldn't even make the bench, let alone the starting lineup. You realise that, surely?
Maybe not I’ve not watched anything back yet but from where I was stood it looked that we had most of the ball & I don’t remember them having any shots other than the goals whereas we had Elanga through on goal twice as well as a bizarre offside call with two players through.Kind of agree with most of what you say but we definitely didn’t “generally dominate”. QPR were by far the better side for the vast majority of the game and the only dominant spell for us came when they took off almost their entire starting XI. We were very very poor, apart from 10-15 minutes near the end. And the worst performers for us on the day were the players who would be considered the closest to our first team. Which isn’t great.
So if we lost 20 - 0 it means nothing to you?

Agree on who the worst performers were which isn’t great at all but I don’t think we’ve learnt much about them. Think it’s pretty clear we want Williams & Mengi loaned out, Pereira sold, AWB will come good as he tends to be a slow starter, James first game back, Grants only there for training etc.
Think we'll be ok.PS To the bloke who suggested Austin as a back-up player for you: no way - he's almost certainly taken a big pay cut to be with us, seems like he likes the club and knows he will be first choice starter and fancies a crack promotion, I'm afraid you're exactly the wrong sort of club for him now.
Think we'll be ok.
I just couldn't let that post slideSnubbed by Charlie Austin. What a nightmare.
They don't matter in the slightest, especially since no more than two of the starters today will be anywhere near the starting lineup for the first game of the season.
Pay no attention to the naysayers.
Can anyone answer why Daniel James played today and Pogba is still on holidays when both France and Wales went out of the Euros at the same time?

Even ignoring the transfer speculation: because pogba is an integral part to the team whilst James is fighting to even be relevant
That would be very dumb reason to give one a longer holiday than the other.Even ignoring the transfer speculation: because pogba is an integral part to the team whilst James is fighting to even be relevant
So he just gets a longer holiday because?
Yes? We're obviously trying to get pogba to sign a new contract, I doubt the club cares if he's here to lose against a shitty team

Exactly the attitude towards that idiot which has brought us to where we are today. I'm sick of people talking as if the club should let him dictate. There's always an excuse for Pogba, he's the most protected underperformer I've ever known in football.
Not that I'm saying this is the attitude the coaches take, like you make out. But the deflection from fans is just irritating.
Exactly. I'm sick and tired of the leniency Pogba seems afforded everywhere. It's never his fault, always someone else. I was so excited when he rejoined, and I've deluded myself into being very excited every year, cause surely this is the year we'll see the real Pogba, right? Turns out its all memes and dancing videos on Instagram.
Edit: And fashion contests with Matic.
