Mbappe is gonna play on Luke Shaw's side right? I think Luke has the pace and physicality to stop him

Dani Alves at CM is a strange one. Is he actually effective there? It's like playing Antonio Valencia or Cafu there

He will probably play down the middle I thought? Cavani is out and so is Neymar so I was expecting Di Maria Mbappe Draxler as a 3.

You can't keep all your players away from the pitch, they still need to play to keep match fitness. The key players who started yesterday didn't the previous match.

There was already many starters on the bench and Diaby, Nkunku, Nsoki featuring + Dagba subbed on.
He'd miss 1 game before the CL, I doubt it'd impact his match fitness. There are starters and there are irreplacable players like Cavani.

I think that should be correct. Mbappe playing central up top terrifies me. It's like watching peak Brazilian Ronaldo for Real in 2003

Mbappe upfront is probably more terrifying.

Nah, Mbappe up front is more dangerous than out wide, but i rather have Mbappe up front and no Cavani than both starting. Mbappe would be a bit of everywhere anyway, especially on counters it doesnt really matter where he is, it will be hard to stop him. But Di Maria and Draxler dont have that movement and dangerousness about them like Cavani, so one less player to worry about with his excellent movement.

Yeah, although I rewatched Ronaldo's hattrick against us at OT and just thought "Feck me Barthez was such a shite keeper :lol:"

He didn't start against Villefranche, I guess the plan was to share playing time with M'Bappé who didn't start either game.

Still stupid risk for me. Their entire season depends on the CL. Neymar out, Verratti recently injured. With how easy the Ligue 1 is for them, wrap the players in cotton. Oh well, not gonna pretend his injury bothers me though.

Let me think about what could happen then :wenger:

Ronaldo = Mbappé

Ballon d'Or Zidane = Di Maria
Ballon d'Or Figo: Draxler
McManaman = Dani Alves

Makélélé = Marquinhos
Guti = Verratti

Roberto Carlos = Bernat
Helguera = Kimpembe
Hierro = Thiago Silva
Salgado = Kehrer

Mate we have Rashford central up top and Pogba behind him supplying balls. Surely that concerns you as well? :p

I’d go with his time at Barcelona more as the pace was there and just frightening, not that he was that slow at Real but at Barca my word he was something different.

Watching the PSG game yesterday there was a sprint Mbappe did and he makes Rashford look moderately fast, he’ll be a handful where ever he plays.

Cavani’s movement is top notch, and all it takes is one second of one of our defenders mentally switching off to let him in, which we know they are all quite prone to, so even if they have to face Mbappe up top, not having to deal with the striker who is probably the best in the world when it comes to movement, timing his runs and finding space, it can only be a blessing.

Meunier also out with a concussion.

How good is PSG's defense? A lot is made of their attack but I'm not sure how good their fullbacks are? Particularly whoever is at RB will need to put up with Martial. Lingard's movement should cause massive issues for them too. Really looking forward to this, we'll need to rack up the advantage best we can in the opening tie.

Going by the recent games, they're not good.
