PSG | 2018-19 Club Thread | Season over

Without a doubt, however didn't Matuidi want to go? He spent most of his career in France and was such a great servant of the club that I think they granted him that so he could experience a new league while he was still able to be a good player.

Matuidi was happy in France.

He was 30 and PSG had to sell to raise money due to the FFP: from a financial perspective, it was a good move (30 millions).

Rabiot is much younger and the president did want to make the latter the Parisian Steven Gerrard l-o-l

Is it right for the PSG management to exclude Rabiot over Tuchel's head?
I don't know if it's really above Tuchel's head.
Rabiot promised to Tuchel he was going to renew and it was one of the conditions for making him a centerpiece of his system. When it didn't materialize quickly Tuchel urged him to fix his contract situation, but to no avail.

Getting Alexis to form is a big factor on how much of a threat we could pose to them. Think we might stand a chance if he does.

Feels like the build up to Sevilla a bit but that didn't go so well.

PSG very close to signing De Jong and de Ligt it seems.

Fair play to them for spending a third party country's money brashly but why on Earth would De Jong and de Ligt go there? What talented kid ever went there, developed, and fulfilled their potential?

Celtic signed Timothy Weah on six month loan.

Interested to see how he gets on, played for PSG a few times this season and regular in their 18.

Here is a story that went under the radar

http://global.espn.com/soccer/paris...nic-profiling-of-young-recruits-lfp-announces

Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have been fined €100,000 ($113,590.00) after the club's scouts had for years listed the ethnic origins of young recruits, the French League (LFP) said on Thursday.

The league's disciplinary commission made the ruling after hearing from former officials involved in the recruitment between 2013-18 and PSG general manager Jean-Claude Blanc, who was not sanctioned, the LFP statement said.

Blanc has been at the Ligue 1 club since 2011 but PSG have previously said the club's general management did not know there was an ethnic registration system in a recruitment department.

Last November, the investigative website Mediapart, which based its allegations on the so-called "Football Leaks" documents, claimed PSG had until the spring of 2018 asked recruiters to record the origin of players in four categories: "Francais" (French), "Maghrebin" (North African), "Antillais" (West Indian), and "Afrique noire" (Black African).

It is against French law to collect personal data which reveals racial or ethnic origins of individuals.

In 2014, the director of the club's recruitment unit across the country, excluding the Paris region, defended at a meeting the ethnic vision of the team, justifying a discriminatory recruitment policy, Mediapart said.

On Nov. 8 last year, Qatari-owned PSG acknowledged and condemned the existence of the ethnic identity files.

"The general management of the club never knew of an ethnic registration system within a recruitment department or possessed any such forms," the club said at the time.

Blanc has been involved in a few situations like this.

They're atrociously bad these days.

Better hope they show up the way they're playing now.

Especially Mbappe. He's missing so many 1 on 1 duels with the keeper It's insane.

He ended up getting two assists on the three goals, so maybe his scoring boots aren't fixed on properly these last couple of games but he's making an impact and will give United all kinds of problems regardless IMO.

He's been atrocious in open play for months. His statistics are inflated from the amount of goals PSG scores and Neymar being right behind to deliver insane balls.

Yeah, I don't think you've really watched his games for months, or you have a bias against him. He's been pretty solid, is the second or third highest goalscorer in Europe, and is creating chances pretty much every game, even the bad ones. Not sure what you're going on about.

I dont think they are a great side but they'll no doubt have a different mindset to all the meaningless crappy games they play in the league and cups. I expect us to beat them at home though.

Literally all french football twitter talks about is how crap Mbappe has been playing and It's filled with "Xavi was right about him" comments every day.
So allow me to disagree here.

You're free to do so, the point remains he's got 36 goals + assists in 25 games and creates something pretty much every game, it doesn't matter what league you play in as that's not a common thing anywhere, especially given the amount of football he has played non-stop since he began his career.

Even this last game where the team as a whole was pretty crap, he made two assists happen and the game changed once he and Cavani came on. I think people, especially french twitter, are full of shit, including Xavi for that matter.

Fair play to Man. United but really PSG....:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

The ultimate European bottle jobs.

The fact they've somehow not made it beyond the quarter-finals since coming into so much money is fecking hilarious, owners must be fuming.

Can someone post that picture of Di Maria drinking water in the first leg ?

The interesting thing is that our best campaign was during the "1st year post Qatar" in 2012/13, QF against Barcelona and PSG was close to qualify:
- 2-2 at home
- 1-1 away

When billions of dirty money you've poured in ain't enough!

Better off as a drinks company since they bottle it so much.

Chelsea in 2014 was worst for me, Chelsea finished 3rd that year.

How does a team with that much talent bottle it so consistently? Clowns of football.
