Which do you think will release first?

No I think the Series S is a great price and I will definitely pick up one at some point - X doesn't interest me as PS5 will be my main console but if MS can start delivering some good exclusives in the next year or two then it's a no brainer. I don't think there needs to be a 'wow' factor. I wouldn't go as far to say Dualsense is wow, but I've gone from thinking it would be a gimmick to thinking it is something that could genuinely feel and play 'next gen'. God of War 2 however - well, if it's half the game of God of War then it'll be incredible.

Not long to wait now anyway.

I don’t remember saying I was wowed.

I’m happy with the more powerful console that has more hard drive space as standard, with game pass, and eventually better exclusives.

Seems you PlayStation lads are all excited about a new ui and gimmicky controller. It’s cute.
I'm getting a sleek console that will run a lot of recent games at 1440p 60/120FPS, as well as have optimised versions of new releases, while paying the equivalent of £3/4 a month for online play and a library of hundreds of quality games both on the new console and for my half-decent PC.

For only £250.
So stfu then you boring motherfeckers and let me be excited...

God of War sucked

Think seeing as @Bojan11 is getting both consoles he should do an exclusive RedCafe unboxing so we can see his fat face.

Fat? How many nic naks did you have again in one sitting?

12 wasn’t it? And there’s so many unboxings that I am actually bored of unboxings. I just want to box you.

@afrocentricity quick resume is the most wow thing

Lots of journos referred to it as a game changer. Much more hype than the Ps controller got despite being quoted on the thread title

Doesn’t it look like the ps5 will have a similar if not the same feature anyway?

Does it say anything about 4k with image reconstruction? Bit of a long video to find the moment they're discussing it.
They talk about resolution around the 5 minute mark. There is a 60fps mode with dynamic resolution.

Nah. Now the controller is in the hands of journalists and influencers, I've definitely seen a lot of hype about it - from Digital Foundry et al.

Digital Foundry also said those AMD differences will probably matter ;)

Everyone is raving about the new PS controller it’s supposed to be amazing.

Everyone was deperate to rave about something, let's be honest. There's literally nothing else to rave about with the PS5 is there?

I'm curious to get my hands on it. I know that Forza 5 impulse triggers on my Xbox One was a really cool moment initially and I spoke about how good they were here, but then no game ever took advantage of them and ultimately it was a waste. And even on Forza, the novelty wore quick and you stop noticing. I'm sure the first party games will find some ways to leverage it, but then those sequences are often forced and really fcking annoying.

I like that the new sticks are still concave and the triggers seem better. Dualshock 4 was much better than 3 but there were still some issues for me. I just wish they'd swap the left stick and the d-pad.

Majority of people turn vibrations off or adjust to lowest setting anyway. For me it’s all about the sound. A speaker in the controller is cool and all, but majority also wear a headset. It’s pushed as a game changer when in reality it won’t be used at all in the end

its shape does look more ergonomic though. I haven’t liked the feel of ps controllers ever.

I don’t really see what difference having the left stick central or slightly up and to the left makes. When it’s central it completely mirrors the right stick - why is it more comfortable for the sticks to be asymmetrical?
