I have an X on pre-order - but damn does the PS5 seem like the biggest leap of the two. Looks like Xbox have gone for more grunt - whereas the PS5 has the dualsense, camera, Astrobots, charging station etc. It feels like more of a generational leap.

If PS5 had a monthly plan it would have made my decision much harder. Still can't wait for my X - but you PS5 owners are in for a treat by the look of it.

PS5 looks like one of those original satellite/cable decoders. I think the middle of the PS5 should've rather had a matte finish.

Also, what's the best TV to get for the next gen experience? Is a normal 4K HDR10 TV required, or is it more complex than that?

more complex if you want 120hz etc.

I have a 4K HDR tv but it's a few years old so can't play the X at its max unfortunately.

Realistically, if I haven't pre-ordered either, when is the likeliest time that I will have PS5 (or the xbox) in my possession?

Eh? They both look as plasticy as each other?

Difference is you can change the ps5 faceplates to whatever you want so may not look as plasticy?

I don't get the big deal with the looks of consoles tbh  you look at it that once when you get it out the box then spend the next 7 years looking at the TV screen.

I kinda like devices to blend into the home environment, it's one thing the series x does better at least.

Xbox next gen controller came out with the Elite 2 ages ago mate.

In all seriousness if the PS5 actually manages to be better than the Xbox, it'll be a seriously good controller

That is as close to perfection as you can get

I am skeptical whether those features we will get used. We've had triggers for ages and other than Forza 5 which came with the console it's never utilized.

You literally can't build a better controller than Xbox. There's a reason why so many fields and workplaces still use the 360.

What a stupid point. Xbox has been miles ahead on this front since it’s inception.

Haptic feedback is just a vibrate replicating pushing a button. Guaranteed to be turned off for anything competitive. Adaptive triggers might be nice. Might just be another Sony gimmick.

It’s a controller that vibrates a little different  big whoop. The 3D sound pulse thing is more intriguing than that, if it is better than Dolby

I’ve got an Elite 2. It’s what the ps5 controller is trying to be, but with a couple of gimmicks.

The elite 2 is a fantastic controller but also plagued by quality control issues, i own one too lets be honest here.

No controller is worth £150, they seen you fanboys coming with that one. I really hope that isn't still AAs?

Elite 2 works great for me. I must have got really lucky. In saying that I also have vibration turned off as it fecks your aim. Decent for driving games but that’s about it.

I can’t get over the design of the PS5 it’s hideous. The size as well, it’s a bizarre piece if hardware.

I was expecting it to grow on me but nah.

Got to say PS5 looks terrible on in a real setting

That's because a lot of them switched when the 360 was king in America. Plus Microsoft is an American company.

It looks alright, it's weird looking but still premium and will catch eyes next to my PSVR stand.

Better looking than the og PS3 and Xbox 360.

The tiny little Xs, Os, squares and triangles moulded into the PS5 and it’s controller are a pretty cool little detail.

One things for sure the PS5 is going vertical it looks a million times better then horizontal
