S is arguably underpowered in RAM and GPU which will hold back an entire generation of games on both PS5 and Xbox.

I had a 360 and with the last gen moved to PS4. I was firmly in the PS5 campuntil the Bethesda acquisition. After that I had a more in depth look at next gen XBox. I've quite liked what I've seen and I'm impressed with Game Pass. Probably still in the PS5 camp but I'm swithering. I won't be purchasing a new console until next year so I'll monitor how both are doing.
Proabably wise. I think both are going to be must own within the next 18 months or so.

Because I was originally going to play it on PS4. Then got stuck playing other games, so thought I might as well wait for the upgraded PS5 version. I buy all my games day one rather than wait.
Is this for first party games too. Read that saves of Yakuza from PS4 will not be supported on PS5 and that is more to do with trophies. Surely, this problem should not be there on first party games.PS5 doesn't support saves from PS4 games?

Xbox Series S looks like a pile of shit. You can clearly see that MS wanted people to get the Series X from two decisions: limited 512GB storage and expensive proprietary storage expansion. I'm not a fan of less RAM and no disc drive either. No thanks, I'm going with Series X.
As for PS5, I will wait for clarity on backward compatibility before I decide whether to buy this. On Xbox, as far as I know, you can just put old discs and Smart Delivery will make sure it works. Looking forward to playing Sunset Overdrive on the Series X.

I'm happy that I am using the Series S for last gen games. Should run them well and smoothly and I don't need to fork out these prices!

People are overstating the need for more RAM for series S. You can still run games with 8GB or ram so 10 will be doable for the next three years. RAM is just one component of a whole list of other important components. Series S will do absolutely fine for 1080p gaming until we have have a mid-gen refresh.
Plenty of people were fairly adamant that the £70 price tag wouldn't stick. Were those anonymous internet commentors discussing video games wrong? Doesn't sound plausible.
Whether it sticks or not, I personally won't be paying those prices.... Y'all can do what you want though.
Good to know we can get much cheaper games on Xbox, as opposed to the slightly cheaper games available on PlayStation, if you catch it at exactly the right time. Feels good to have made the right choice.

I don’t think you understand - we can get games off the likes of CD Keys. There’s barely any PlayStation games on there.
Nobody is forcing anyone to pay those prices, similar to when nobody forced us to accept lootboxes and the like, if we end up accepting it we have ourselves to blame. Well, yourselves.... Like I said I won't be paying those prices.
