Me watching the PS and Xbox fanboys going at it
S is arguably underpowered in RAM and GPU which will hold back an entire generation of games on both PS5 and Xbox.I wonder what Weaste's honest assessment of the hardware would be this upcoming gen
Back in early Xbox One days, MS was being ripped for being a software and not hardware company. And that PS was miles ahead when it came to the device itself.
In One S, One X and seemingly the Series S/X though - all seem to be incredibly well designed machines. Both in architecture and form factor (size, sound, shape, look)
I’ve seen it said multiple times that the Series X is easy to develop for.@Redlambs would probably be best placed to answer that.
I've seen quite a few Devs praise the PS5 because it essentially 'carries on' from the PS4 so it's fairly easy to develop for, and the SSD is supposedly extremely impressive. Seen praise and some criticism for the Series X because it essentially moves away from a lot of the One X architecture? Or is that just Devs having a moan?
Either way I do think MS have learned a lot over the past 6/7 years. Still funny how badly they botched the announcement with the Xbox One and how much criticism they got for it, though since then pretty much everything they've done has been about the consumer (from what I've seen anyway), and I think they've managed to gain back a lot of the trust they lost.

Don't you get tired of coming into threads asking people are they tired?Don't console warriors get tired of this shit? It's 2020. Stop caring about this crap and grow up.
NES was the first console I ever played, followed by the SNES. Super Metroid is probably my favourite ever game. In short, go feck yourself.Don't console warriors get tired of this shit? It's 2020. Stop caring about this crap and grow up.

Proabably wise. I think both are going to be must own within the next 18 months or so.I had a 360 and with the last gen moved to PS4. I was firmly in the PS5 campuntil the Bethesda acquisition. After that I had a more in depth look at next gen XBox. I've quite liked what I've seen and I'm impressed with Game Pass. Probably still in the PS5 camp but I'm swithering. I won't be purchasing a new console until next year so I'll monitor how both are doing.
Yeah, thats what I'm afraid of, from a financial point of viewProabably wise. I think both are going to be must own within the next 18 months or so.
PS5 doesn't support saves from PS4 games?
PS5 is in the mud.

Wait so if you saved it to play it on the ps5 then why didn’t you wait to buy it as well?Charge for upgrades too on first party games.
I saved Last of us 2 just to play it on the PS5. I swear if I have to pay for it again, I will build a doll that looks like @evil_geko and throttle it as he’s always going on about how that games amazing.

Is this for first party games too. Read that saves of Yakuza from PS4 will not be supported on PS5 and that is more to do with trophies. Surely, this problem should not be there on first party games.PS5 doesn't support saves from PS4 games?
PS5 is in the mud.
PS5 further into the mud.

Still waiting for some gameplay footage from new games...:
Next-gen video games cost £70 - this is something that has become apparent in the last month.
Sony, with the in-demand PlayStation 5 near launch, has decided Demon's Souls, Destruction AllStars, and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition all cost £69.99 each. On ShopTo, Gran Turismo 7 costs £69.85 - 14 pence cheaper than RRP. So does PS5 game Returnal. Clearly, if you want to get into PS5 gaming, the true cost of next-gen is £70 games.
But Sony is not alone in selling £70 next-gen games. I've had a look around, and I can't help but feel we're being shafted. PS5 launch title Godfall, published by Borderlands developer Gearbox, costs £70 on Sony's console. The PC version, exclusive to the Epic Games Store for now, costs £50. I know PC games, which are downloads not discs, tend to be cheaper than their console counterparts. But why is Godfall £20 more expensive on PS5 than it is on PC? That doesn't seem right. I asked Gearbox for an explanation for the cost of Godfall, but it has yet to comment.
There's more: Hogwarts Legacy is £70. Gotham Knights is £70. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is £70. It's clear: £70 is the new next-gen normal.
I get where Zelnick is coming from - to a point. I remember paying (I mean, my parents paying) north of £70 for Street Fighter 2 on the SNES in 1993. That we're getting to that point now nearly 30 years later speaks volumes that video game prices were due for a hike a long time ago.
But what we're looking at here is a hike of up to £20, and I have a big issue with that. And it gets worse when you convert currency. Demon's Souls is $70 in the US. At the time of publication, that's £55. Not £70.
Yep. Still waiting! Console is out in 6 weeks ffs
What games?
Good to know we can get much cheaper games on Xbox, as opposed to the slightly cheaper games available on PlayStation, if you catch it at exactly the right time. Feels good to have made the right choice.

Here's another game that seems outrageously priced: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. On GAME's website, the next-gen versions (PS5 and Xbox Series X) both cost £70 each.
I don’t think you understand - we can get games off the likes of CD Keys. There’s barely any PlayStation games on there. Can you even read
