My games tend to cost me £39.99 when I buy online, £44.99 if I go in store. Very rarely do I see a game for £50.

I don't compare the Wii to the PS3 in the sense that I don't think Sony and Nintendo target the same audience (We've discussed this before so we won't go down this road again). The PS3 costs £299 plus a game, the Wii costs around £185 plus a game, which for old technology and for a console which comes without a DVD player inside, I think is quite expensive and anything but value for money (In my opinion). Add to the fact that every new game for the Wii seems to come with a new peripheral to play with and the Wii isn't as cheap as it may seem on the outside.

Add £110 and get the PS3 and you get a superior console in pretty much all aspects (Technologically anyway), along with those other featuers mentioned in my other post.

So I rate the PS3 as the best value for money console out there at the minute, but that's just me. Some will agree and others will not.

I like that Warhawk got some love, my god I spent wayyy too much time on that game! Would kill for a remaster!

Good to see you back man :)

Take it you’re not getting either PS or Xbox?
Thanks :)

Oh I dunno, I reckon within a year or two I might finally get a PS4  Even then I might not bother though, I don't really have much interest in games these days, my Switch and SNES Mini is more than enough for me.

PS5 and Xbox whatever it's called I'm not interested in the slightest though.

From the Ps Store you mean? I've been playing Super stardust HD, brilliant game and only a fiver. Thinking of getting Pixel Junk Monsters aswell, but I have no money nd I don't think my mum will let me use her card again

Oh that’s where you getting your PS5 from @esmufc07.

Well lets just say if I was the head of SCEE and a new controller was being released, there is no way I would let it go on sale for £20 as it's starting point.

So if I ever get into a powerful position, watch out!

Watch out @Redlambs

Now that the PS3 has totally obliterated the 360 it has its sight on the Wii.

Don't worry though, I am sure MS will just totally abandon the 360 and release a new console instead.

EDIT - Rushed, technically inferior, prone to break-down console.

You should change your tagline to Smashed and Weaste's bitch

With the new consoles soon to launch, here are the current deals on game subscription services for both platforms

PS Now 12 month subscription is £34.99 on CDKeys (30% discount): https://www.cdkeys.com/playstation-now-12-month-subscription-uk

PS4 games on the platform in NA (380, can be downloaded or streamed): https://psnowguide.com/platform/ps4/
PS3 games on the platform in NA (445, can only be streamed): https://psnowguide.com/platform/ps3/
PS2 games on the platform in NA (20, can be streamed or downloaded): https://psnowguide.com/platform/ps2/

Total: 845

For Game Pass, 251 games are currently available for the service on console (just 171 on the cloud). Despite the relative lack of games (though arguably greater quality than PS Now), they do have first party games on the day of release but the service costs double that of PS Now. 12 month Game Pass cannot currently be purchased on CDKeys, but 6 months is available for £34.99, meaning 12 months is £69.98.

Good effort chap.

Just a note to others - the 6-month cdkeys gamepass is showing out of stock.

Wait, I’ve completely missed PS Now. I thought it was a streaming service only for old games - didn’t think you could download them too and I also didn’t think there was much of a PS4 library....that list overall looks way better value than Game Pass. Why does everyone go on about how good game pass is vs this? I just went with that narrative and assumed PS Now was shite

Great work Damo

Mainly because PS Now is mostly older games, including, I think, some PS3 games?

Gamepass differs because it includes a few brand new titles (e.g. Wasteland 3).

You can download games on PS Now to play locally - they added the option some time ago (edit: not ps3 games according to elvis).

Remember when Elvis took it upon himself to volunteer as positive Playstation news spreader during the dark PS3 days?

To be fair when it first started it was shite, and I think it was streaming only. You can download a lot of the games now but I think the PS3 games all have to be streamed, though I played a few games yesterday and they all streamed without issue. Theres some good stuff on there but equally quite a lot of crap so it's just sifting through it all really. The design could still be a lot better.

But yeah, £34.99 for the year isn't bad value at all.

Game Pass has a lot more recent games and first party games on release, the latter of which you wouldn't see on PS Now. Still loads of games though through the years.

Thanks all, I’ve had game pass for a year or so and it is good value if got on a deal. Didn’t realise that PS Now had upped its offering so much - think I’ll give it a go.

I didn’t realise I could stream PS3 games onto my PS4 with PS Now. Playing abit of Oblivion, nice.

I wonder what Weaste's honest assessment of the hardware would be this upcoming gen

Back in early Xbox One days, MS was being ripped for being a software and not hardware company. And that PS was miles ahead when it came to the device itself.

In One S, One X and seemingly the Series S/X though - all seem to be incredibly well designed machines. Both in architecture and form factor (size, sound, shape, look)

@Redlambs would probably be best placed to answer that.

I've seen quite a few Devs praise the PS5 because it essentially 'carries on' from the PS4 so it's fairly easy to develop for, and the SSD is supposedly extremely impressive. Seen praise and some criticism for the Series X because it essentially moves away from a lot of the One X architecture? Or is that just Devs having a moan?

Either way I do think MS have learned a lot over the past 6/7 years. Still funny how badly they botched the announcement with the Xbox One and how much criticism they got for it, though since then pretty much everything they've done has been about the consumer (from what I've seen anyway), and I think they've managed to gain back a lot of the trust they lost.
