The same one all the Boners got excited for when it hit Gamepass?

Don't worry, only a couple of months now and you'll have an "exclusive" and won't have to watch with envy as the third party games run better on the PS5.
That was before anybody played it. Once it had been played by enough people it became obvious that it was underwhelming.

Decent video... I'll be getting an XBox again at some point for sure.

I use my Series X a lot more than my PS5 overall, mainly because of Gamepass and partly because it's just easier to boot up and play for a bit especially with Quick Resume which is incredible. I've also found it much handier than using my PC for certain games that are better played with a controller on the couch (main reason i got it!).

Going forward I'll use my PS5 for AAA's that you have to pay for/aren't on the X and the Series X for... well... whatever's on Gamepass. Mainly cause the PS5 does feel like a better next gen experience for the big games.

Basically, they uh.. kinda.. complement each other quite well and although I'd pick a PS5 if I only had to choose one, I'm really glad I have both cause they're both awesome in their own way.

Wait, I mean, feck microsoft lolz

Which games have you been playing on GP? I have been tempted to just pick up a series S for it.

Hades (played it on Switch before but it's much better in 120fps).
Just finished Psychonauts 2 (solid 8/10 game)
Hellblade
FIFA 21
Little bit of Apex
The Ascent
Sable
Back 4 Blood is out today so looking forward to that, was impressed with the open beta

Have 4 or 5 others installed I plan on playing but I don't like playing too much at once.

This is where it falls down a bit though. That list isn't compelling to me... As soon as the big games start hitting I'll be on board.

Don’t like how you said ‘little bit’ of apex

Going back to our chat from yesterday, there'd be a lot of merit I think to getting one if you're looking for more of those fun and short Metroidvania-type experiences. Gamepass is particularly good for indie and AA games and I've certainly played a lot of games I wouldn't necessarily have picked up otherwise (e.g. Katakana Zero, Gardens Between Worlds, Call of the Sea, Bloodstained, Celeste, Hades etc).

Just putting this out there but the cost the new Nintendo Online Expansion Pass (£35) makes both Gamepass and PS+/Now seem like a bargain.

I really thought they'd at least offer a monthly subscription after the backlash but alas.

It's the bizzare decision to include the Animal Crossing DLC with it that bumped the price up. That was likely added as they knew a lot of people wouldn't upgrade.

I'm probably going to end up getting the expansion pass just because of the DLC for my gf. Then it works out at about £12 for the N64/Mega Drive stuff.

Definitely. Then you take into account that the other three services regularly get offers so they're even cheaper (today's PSNow offer being prime example) whereas you just know that the NOEP won't go on sale.

NOEP has apparently been littered with bugs too. The sad thing is, with Nintendo, people will still pay for it and they'll make a boatload from a subpar service at extortionate prices which probably won't even have its games supported when they decide to move on from the Switch.

This is a console discussion thread, specifically between the PS5 and Xbox Series X. If you want to discuss Switch make a new bastard thread.

We could probably start the GOTY discussions but we're going to have to wait for the Boners to have a game to try and squeeze in.

Shall we just give Halo a bye and be generous and put it in at number 10?
